12345baba:
the mother wasn't beaten , as the mother was pleading the apc animal ordered his younger animal to beat up the girl.
The mother was also assaulted in the process.

Well one funny dimension to the whole thing I just observed is that the girl was working as a media aide for the guy at the time of the incident.

Anyway that does not justify the vicious assault. Pathetic.
Politics › Re: The 10 Most Indebted African Nations By Total Debt-to-GDP by SmartyPants(m): 6:34am On Mar 04
njokuuche77:
What does this mean to Nigerians?
Nigeria not being on this list might make some people happy and they know themselves, but it doesn’t automatically mean we are doing great.

Debt to GDP simply compares what a country owes to the size of its economy. Even if we’re not among the top 10, what really matters is: Can we comfortably pay our debts without struggling?

If a country earns little but borrows a lot, repayment becomes stressful even if it’s not on a “most indebted” list.
So instead of celebrating or arguing politics, the real question should be:
Are we growing the economy? Are we earning enough revenue? Is the borrowed money improving people’s lives?

That’s what truly matters.
You have not fully understood that statistic then. The essence of GDP in the ratio is an assessment of the country's ability to repay - economics fundamentals assume that countries raise revenue through taxation, therefore GDP is an indicator of potential government taxable revenue.

Rubbish talk.
If you were accused in future for chasing Natasha, don't just come and defend yourself, because you are indirectly telling us that you like her.
More like she's a serial accuser but at least he can take her seriously.
Politics › Re: “When You Come To My Media Chat, Prepare Very Well” — Otti Tells Journalist by SmartyPants(m): 12:26pm On Feb 28
Even this one that appeared humble is so full of pride that when he invites journalists to ask him questions he wants to dictate the particular questions to be asked. Sick of this country's culture.
Crime › Re: Oyo Police Parade 3 Robbers (List Of Items Recovered) by SmartyPants(m): 4:00pm On Feb 25
JuanDeDios:
Robbers went after chicken feed? Meaning they were prepared to go through the hard work of selling it? Or maybe they had someone ready to buy them at knock-off prices. Na waoh.
Thieves don't think like that. They will simply reduce the prices to something very nonsensical and look for the next thing to steal.

I could be wrong, but the guy looks gay... It's possible he's not into women and she knows it.

I once had a gay friend back in varsity and sometimes he'd come to my residence and we'd take a nap together on my bed and nothing would happen... And sometimes we'd just chill in my room while I'm in nothing but my underwear because one thing about me is that I'm allergic to clothes whenever I'm indoors... grin grin grin
Just watched the video and you're right that dude is extremely effeminate. But that doesn't excuse the nonsense.

The article said Ifeanyi abducted a minor.
Did you read at all, or you just have some comprehension issues? It is clearly stated repeatedly that the girl's birth certificate, which has been authenticated by the National Population Commission, states she was born in 2004. It was merely alleged by the parents who ran to get a contrary age declaration just last year, December, that she is a minor. Every other piece of evidence shows that she is not a minor and it is all there in the aticle above.
Politics › Re: Teen Who Fled To Nigeria After London Stabbing Gets Life Sentence by SmartyPants(m): 6:57am On Feb 21
Kaa4:
The news is empty. It contains nothing essential from the title? How did he escape to Nigeria? Was he ever arrested in the UK? How did he get back there? Extradicted? Or he went back willy-nilly?
Every single question in here is answered in the short article up there.

1. He fled before he was identified.
2. He went back on his own

You deserve a knock on the head.

That has always been the position before now so I don't understand this question.
Politics › Re: US Military Trainers Arrive Nigeria - Defence Headquarters by SmartyPants(m): 9:05am On Feb 17
They call them trainers but it's obvious they are here to oversee Nigeria's clearly compromised military intelligence operations with a view to rooting out saboteurs and fifth columnists within the Nigerian military.

Are you aware that MANY Nigerian youths give themselves English names? ??
Even if SOME do, that does not seem to be the default. I would argue that the vast majority of Nigerians stick with the names their parents gave them, even when they don't like them.

You really wish it was not improving.
Imagine the economy improving in an election year cheesy Which campaign point will they have again? After four years dollar didn't reach the 2000 naira mark they were salivating for. The economy is on the rebound without sacrificing solid fundamentals. If not for this government's high tolerance of religious violence and corruption, and the refinery scams, I would have given it a solid B+.

TGreatGatsby:
The sheriff’s office said he is currently being held with a $100,000 bail in the Santa Barbara County Main Jail on multiple felony charges...

But ignorant Nigerians will always be screaming bail is free when they hear about a bail bond put on an offender. The type of offence/scenerio determines the cost of a persons bail after arrest.

BAIL IS NOT FREE
I hope you understand that this money is refundable?

Secondly in Nigeria there is police bail and court bail. Police cannot demand a bail bond this in every sense of the word, bail at the police station is meant to be 100% free.
Politics › Re: 2027: Peter Obi Is Lazy — Segun Showunmi by SmartyPants(m): 9:08am On Feb 01
kingsways:
Who is Showunmihuh I sincerely do not know.

In 2023, someone came on TV and said he wasnt going to win a single LGA because his party had no structure, no Governors, etc.

Showunmi is clearly a poor student of history for him to sit somewhere and say Obi cannot win a primary because Atiku is on the ballot.
Peter Obi was in PDP with Atiku in 2022 when primaries were held - what happened? Is that not the history one can look at to understand the issue as it pertains to primaries? Is there any primaries Atiku has participated inwhere he did not win? Is there any (in terms of presidential elections) Peter Obi has won without demanding the ticket as a pre-condition?

When you sit and listen to the average Obidient fellow speak you can't help but marvel and at the same time feel this sense of fear becasue how can so many people boldly choose delusion everyday?

Most of you social media addicts are just jobless sadists. What is the big deal in this? This is how we greet elders in the North for goodness sake. The other time Obi deflected to greet Atiku, most of you condemning this actually saw nothing wrong in that, so why do you see something wrong in this?
The hypocrisy in this country is something else
I detest Gumi, but I will agree with you here. Most of those condemning this are just opportunistic complainers seeking any issue to wail over. They are the same ones who defended Obi for prostrating to greet his oga in corruption, Atiku.
Sports › Re: Calvin Bassey’s Father Begs For Reconciliation After 18 Years by SmartyPants(m): 12:06pm On Jan 27
2mch:
Father is lying through his teeth. That woman probably was abandoned to take care of those kids alone reason why she changed their names and the man did not care. He’s abroad, he could have done more to disgrace the woman by ensuring the takes care of his family financially and get shared custody if he was a good person.

A whole 4 boys, does he think we no get sense? A whole 4 minor boys just disappear for years and even you no fight for them. Your eye don clear. Money de flow while you are probably getting old and money is drying up.

He cares now that CALVIN is successful. What about the other 3? Calvin, you better stay away from this guy let him not retraumatize you. Let all his friend and family who supported the abandonment of his family take care of him. There’s consequences for every action.

The family you create is who will care for you in old age not your parents, siblings or friends. All of them will run away when it’s time to support you financially. So, better throw away pride and focus on your family to ensure they are loved and well cared for and protected before any one else or your eye go see shege!
Instead of the man to plead and be patient, he's now gone to rally prominent Igbo influencers to start a social media campaign to smear the woman.

Marigold2rock:
On a more Serious note the father has pertinent questions to answer. No woman would leave her marriage with 4 children to bear the whole burden herself just because of trivial family issues. In most case scenarios the woman abandons the 4 children with the husband and elopes with a more wealthier man to start another family.
Exactly. And she really did suffer! They grew up in the hood and one of Calvin's brothers is a well known London gangster. So when you see people trying to bully the woman to support their "brother" it's sickening.

Why are you talking like this? Is it not clear enough he doesn't want reconciliation with the woman but his children?
Did I say anything about the woman? There are four children here. My question is, why is he so particular about Calvin? The first effort he made for reconciliation was after the boy signed his first professional contract. And is Calvin the only child? He has a brother who got himself involved in the gang lifestyle and went to prison for some years. That would have been the easiest child to reach out to - did he visit that one or try to claim him? What is this??
Sports › Re: Calvin Bassey’s Father Begs For Reconciliation After 18 Years by SmartyPants(m): 9:44am On Jan 27
CodeTemplarr:
according to the Ihiala man, he never abndoned them but the woman left with them.
And you think that's all there is to it?

In all of those years didn't you notice how he never mentioned what he did to get those boys back until 2017? So it took over 10 years before he developed that strong interest in seeing his boys?

Also funny how he doesn't mention what the "normal family problem" it was that led to a woman packing her four kids to go and struggle on her own for 10 years.

In fact from the narration you can see that they stayed with him at some point when they needed to do their passports. According to him, he was "nice to them"...as though they were guests that he was receiving cordially.

In all he said, did you see any effort to reach any of the other brothers apart from Calvin?

Once tribe gets involved all sense of justice and fairness gets thrown out of the window.
