They would be best placed to respond. Or better still, see if you can find Tinubu's number and send him a text message for a speedy response. Please share with us when you obtain this information. |

budaatum: I love Dangote, but what he has provided here is not proof to any reasonable extent, least not as far as I am concerned.
Dangote has not even provided any evidence that Farouk paid the schoolfees he's alleged to have paid, but you want me to join you in lynching Farouk on Dangote's conjectures. Really not sure where you're going with this...Did I ask you to lynch anyone? I said, in simpler words, Dangote has made a petition and has provided evidence. Let Farouk counter it rather than you jumping through hoops to counter on his behalf. Rather logical. |

budaatum: Is there any indication Farouk was an "average oil and gas worker"?
What would his pay have been if he were above average, like in the top 25%?
What actually amuses me about this is a person of his calibre might get a scholarship for his children in these schools so it costs him a lot less, but I guess we must not see any evidence and just believe my god Dangote. Do you realize your entire position is built on conjecture? And not entirely reasonable points of conjecture either. For example, it's obvious that even if he was at one point the CEO in these vague oil and gas roles he supposedly held (which he obviously wasn't or we would have heard), he would have started somewhere, and the majority of his years would have been spent climbing the ladder. Now, Dangote has made an allegation that the man is living beyond his means. He has provided proof to a reasonable extent. It is for Farouk to explain how he got all those millions, which are far beyond his income. |

budaatum: Likely from years of previously working in the United States and the United Kingdom within the oil and gas sector before becoming a civil servant! What's the average salary for such roles? You keep repeating this stuff as if $5m is something everyone in oil and gas can amass and then dissipate on secondary school fees alone. The average oil and gas worker earns around $150k annually and that's considered good money. |

Politics › Re: President Can Declare Emergency, Suspend Elected Officials - Supreme Court Rules by SmartyPants(m): 3:48pm On Dec 15, 2025 |
CaptainFM1: I'm not referring to just the ruling. The ruling is a climax of the whole charade. When the constitution says the "Senate shall vote" it doesn't refer to "Aye and Nay". The judiciary simply enabled the charade by making it an academic exercise long after fruition of the emergency rule. We have a caged and bought over judiciary system. I agree on the bold. That was a sham. |
Politics › Re: President Can Declare Emergency, Suspend Elected Officials - Supreme Court Rules by SmartyPants(m): 3:23pm On Dec 15, 2025 |
Kukutente23: First of all, the no declaration can imply suspension of Constitution. That's an aberration. Suspension of constitutional order simply means coup!! You can quote where the constitution says declaration of state of emergency means suspension of constitutional order. State of emergency means breakdown of law and order. It does not imply that the constitution is now suspended. Lastly, the SC itself has previously said the only two grounds for removal of a validly elected gov as envisaged by the constitution is impeachment or resignation. Nowhere does the constitution imagine a President removing a gov either temporarily or permanently Lol a breakdown of law and order is the condition for declaring a state of emergency. It is not the same as the meaning and legal effect. You can Google that for better understanding please. |
Politics › Re: President Can Declare Emergency, Suspend Elected Officials - Supreme Court Rules by SmartyPants(m): 3:02pm On Dec 15, 2025 |
Kukutente23: So where is it written in the Constitution that the President can suspend the gov It doesn't have to be. There is a blanket power to declare a State of Emergency. The legal effect of declaring a state of emergency is the suspension of the Constitutional order. So it is not that the powers of the president during a state of emergency should be listed (it is impliedly unlimited), rather the limitations to that power are what should be listed. And there's only one express limitation, which means, by the canons of legal interpretation, no other thing that is not listed is excluded from the President's powers in a state of emergency. |

CaptainFM1: A dangerous Precedent is set. Which part of the ruling goes contrary to the law? If there is anything dangerous about it, the danger lies in the Constitution itself not in the ruling of the Court which is bound to apply the Constitution as it was written not as we imagine it should be. |

Svoboda: Such belligerent tone as the ops makes a bad situation worse. An unfriendly country's airspace was violated by a military aircraft. In every sense of the word, it seems suspicious. At this time, Nigeria should opt for mediators to broker an agreement between the two parties.
In the first place, things shouldn't have been allowed to escalate to this level, no thanks to some ECOWAS govts who lick the shoes of macron. Burkina is a sovereign country, as well as Mali and Niger. They have an alienable right to opt for what is best for them diplomatically. Nigeria has to have the sense to play a diplomatic balancing act.
Burkina is a vast sahelian country, with terrains that are very much suitable for a failure in military occupation. Nigeria can give it a try. What makes Nigeria unfriendly to Burkina Faso? Have we cut ties with them? Or you're not aware that the Burkinabe Embassy is still open on Abuja today? Those men are being held as a bargaining chip. It's just unfortunate Tinubu refuses to be a strong leader. |

frisky2good: Lions and tigers don't live in same habitat so a clash is very unlikely. It's a hypothetical, so you don't need to address the obvious reality, which is only partially true because certain places like India have both lions and tigers, even though they don't share the same habitat - it is theoretically possible that one could stray into the habitat of the other. Besides, there is also the human factor, and thanks to humans, tigers and lions live together in certain places, and they have indeed fought several times on record. |

Racoon: So sorry Kukah. It's too late to deny because that speech is already out there in the public domain. Imagine a supposed knowledgeable person saying the definition of genocide rests on the intent and not casualty figures. God abeg!
Once a group of people are targeted because of their religious beliefs, then a clear case of genocide has been established! You can continue twisting words to satisfy your your new slave masters.
Your siding the persecutors of the Christian faith is clear. At least the world now knows where you stand! This is actually the truth. Genocide is a specific crime that requires the intention to wipe out in whole or evenin part, a specific distinct group either on religious or ethnic or other grounds. However, it is obvious that the intent is there, which qualifies the situation in Nigeria as a genocide by the definition of the word. |

Kalashnikov49: My take:
Who sent the plane to Burkina Faso. A C130 is a Transport plane. What was the essence of the trip.? What equipment was it carrying? Portugal has refuted the lie of the Army claiming they were coming for a visit.
The fact that the Army came and told lies means explicitly that the SECURITY apparatus of the country is totally compromised.
Burkina Faso is a member of West African Nations that are against ECOWAS and have already threatened to bring down any rescue JET that is foreign to their airspace.
Will they now use propaganda to cover this obvious void in the chain of command in the armed forces?
Burkina Faso is totally ready for anything.
Now it's obvious that FRANCE has the ballz of TINUBU in their hands.
Anything France says, TINUBU does.

obama30: Say what you know not exaggeration. Burkina Faso, as part of the Sahel Alliance (AES), claims to have upgraded its air defense with Russian support, reportedly operating advanced Russian fighter jets (like Su-25s or similar) and deploying high-tech Turkish drones and missile systems, capable of intercepting unauthorized aircraft like the Nigerian C-130 cargo plane recently forced down, though specific advanced jets (like Su-30s/57s) remain unverified and likely aspirational, with their actual operational capacity focused on modernizing older Soviet-era planes. Why are you deceiving yourself? Even the AI you went to copy from says all your claims are unverified. |
