PoliticsRe: Kenya Mall Under Attack From Islamic Terrorists (Pictures) by smileyprin(m): 8:52am On Sep 24, 2013
shymexx: Really and truly, Islam itself isn't a bad religion - however, some powerful people with enormous wealth created the ideology that started the terrorism we all see today. The whole thing is bigger than what ordinary people can understand. Everyone can scream, hate and blame Islam, and/or Muslims from now till eternity, but that won't change anything. You will only end up ostracising the moderates among them and, thus providing help for the tools they use in brainwashing the disadvantaged people. Also, this is why under-privileged/rejected youths are turning to extremism for succour because they want to be part of something that's hated as much as they feel they're also hated in the societies that they belong to. And that's where these powerful people come in with their enormous wealth, to show them "love" and brainwash them into extremism.

The only way to end this madness is by nuking Saudi Arabia, Qatar, U.A.E and all the oil rich gulf countries - or by cutting the source of the wealth they use in funding Salafism. And we all know that's never going to happen because our governments are in bed with the - and it's all a chess game. General Intelligence Presidency (GIP), the intelligence agency of Saudi Arabia control these people and they switch them on and off.

PoliticsRe: Tension In CBN Over Appointments, Promotions by smileyprin(m): 10:57pm On Nov 20, 2012
atbu1983: I do not work in CBN. What CBN is doing is a common practice in organisation with many staff of similar age and lenght of service. It bcomes difficult to promote all of them because of cost implication. I think sanusi is only trying to limit the cost on salaries by creating the new positions to absorb this old staffs. I work in a multinational, and it is common practice. To be sincere, if i am one of the staffs i will not be happy. But at the same time, if i am one of the management of CBN I will do the same thing they are doing. That is why management is a difficult and complex task. where i work currently, it usually takes 3 years to move to this next grade. But with massive expansion and recruitment, the management said it is no longer viable for them to promote evry 3 years because of cost implications. as a result it is now 5 years. i am one those affected. i am not happy about it but at the same time i undastand the management point of view.
Very objective and spot on analysis....Keep it up sir!

IslamRe: The Most Peculiar And Awesome Things About Studying The Quran.. by smileyprin(m): 9:50pm On Nov 11, 2012
usisky:

Can you please refer me to the thread where we had such discussions? Further, i wanna know if this idea is just your own personal opinion or it is something evident from the quran itself?. The quran that i have in my possession speaks nothing as you have concluded above. Instead, the quran says it is a guidance for all the people(all of humanity); as such, the quran has got to be easy to understand-otherwise , the majority of the people may not derive any benefit from an incomprehensible scripture from God almighty. In any case, the quran readily affirms that it's easy to understand if only we make a conscious effort to understand it and not seeking its meaning from misguided scholars.

[2:185] Ramadan is the month during which the Quran was revealed, providing guidance for the people, clear teachings, and the statute book........

[54:17,22,32,40] We made the Quran easy to learn(remember). Does any of you wish to learn?

Here are some of the claims you have made from before:

1)The quran cannot be understood unless one is well knowledgeable in classical arabic.
2)The quran cannot be understood without the Ahadiths.
3)The seerah is a requirement for understanding the Quran.

Please prove this assertions to me while providing quranic basis for such reasoning.

My reason for asking is to get your perspective on those. I just want us to have a discussion tthat's all. Please address the questions.

Yes indeed! who ever disobeys the messenger is clearly in error. But how do one obey the messenger now that he is dead?
well quite simple; by following the words(message) that came out directly from the mouth of the messenger inspired by God. Every messenger has a message, in the case of Muhammad- it was the Quran(the messenger dies, but the message never dies). Withoout the message(risala) there cannot be a messenger(rasool). If the people were obeying the messenger, they would realize the quran was the only message he ever preached(6:19, 10:15, 50:45). It is not enough to admire the beauty of the quran and sing songs of it in arabic; the real deal is in heeding its message(the content is what matters).

Please address my questions form earlier post and if possible also(1,2,3)of this post. We will go further afterwards.
you may choose to ask questions too. I think we should start a fresh thread, what do think?? just discussions for a better understanding- nothing to it.

PEACE!!

i came across this thread pretty late but lemme clarify sum fins. 1.The quran is easy to understand in d aspect of reciting and memorzing but surely nt in d aspect of translatio nd inference ,to do that u need to know a lotta things.

Is it the same PDP that Oyinlola and Akala spent the better part of their time in office bickering over LAUTECH teaching hospital?

PoliticsRe: Ribadu Report Didn’t Follow Terms Of Reference - Okupe by smileyprin(m): 9:54am On Nov 09, 2012
Elueme: The committee should come back and clarify their mess.. Ribadu had fought corruption well in the past, though at a biase and partisan level, but I suspected he had something up his sleeves the moment that incomplete report was leaked to the international press. The rebound effect this could have on his reputation if he actually tried to sabotage government through this assignment for a suspected cheap political point will be unprecedented.. Orosanye could be right afterall.
But coming to think abt it the report gettn leked might prompt the govt to take bold steps against all indicted because the truth is already an open secret
PoliticsRe: Ribadu Report Didn’t Follow Terms Of Reference - Okupe by smileyprin(m): 9:51am On Nov 09, 2012
omoabike: Chief,
Are you aware that there were consultants and auditors from PricewaterhouseCoopers Limited (PwC)involved in the work of the committee?
So I do not understand what you are saying. Have you read the report at all or are you one of the people who elRufai said don't read?
The report have been circulating for sometime now online and I will advise you to go and read it rather than listen to what you are told.
Exactly my thought bro.
