I want to request that you share the PEBC assessment process and timelines so that it can be included in page 1. I actually believe the PEBC and MCC process should feature as separate posts on page 1. @ drcynthia... can you also help with MCC.

So that newbies wont come asking for it again.

@smslive.. what do you think??

Cheers.

Currency Conversion This or This
Bukzie:
Hello all.

I'm a new member.

If one's PR application is being processed in the Accra Visa Office, how can one reach them apart from using the Web Form?

We have not received any update since we passed medicals on April 29, 2018. Our AOR is April 23,2018. My spouse is the Primary Applicant. It's almost 8 months!

Also, I would like to ask for the link used by IRCC for currency conversion.

Thank you.

Referring to Page 1 is even more beneficial than just answering one question and the person will return with another question that has been answered before. The most scary thing is that some people will just be dishing out misleading response to innocent peeps. It is really well o
fmsimple:
My exact sentiments.
Raised this concern some weeks ago. The thread is running and filled with a lot of repetitions. Seems some people just enjoy commenting on everything and anything. We're no longer dealing with real EE issues but exchange rates and co!
I do know we have many newbies on the thread but then we owe it a duty to refer to page 1 with love grin . Meanwhile, it's not a bad thing to be a newbie but it's unfortunate to remain one.
Best wishes to all. May our Canny heart desire be met with success.

Me i don tire to answer the same set of questions over and over again... Why do we bother to populate page 1 with so much information when people will simply ignore the page and ask the already answered questions
raphrulz:
Hi Guys...

I don't know if its just me.... I have noticed that more than 75% of the questions asked in the past 20 pages, if not more, are very basic questions that could have been resolved by going to page 1.

As much as i don't want to sound like a kill-joy, I think the experienced ones should spend more time referring people to page 1. I can bet you that if you answer a question now... be ready to answer it again in the next 3 to 5 pages. Yes!! its that bad now.

Please, and please, let's not make this thread move too fast. As a matter of fact, one thing i'm certain is that... when a person goes back to page one in search of a particular information, there is a 90% probability that the person would find other information that would be useful subsequently in the journey.

Infact, I still go back to page 1, despite having spent quite a while on this thread... and I still get very relvant information... even from as far back as 2016.

Please, let's help ourselves. Like the seniors would say... this is a life-long/ Life-changing decision, which you need tp find out things yourself. Reduce the level of reliance on what people tell you, as they could make mistakes. In no time, you would be a body of knowledge to reckon with on this subject matter.

Thanks.

God bless us! God bless Naija!! God bless Canada, our new home!!

Read full details on how to migrate here
SundayphilipNic:
Thank you all for your respective useful contribution on this forum. I'm new here

Please I need your advice on this: I'm a Nigerian. I have my Bsc in engineering. I have 3 years of work experience in construction and fabrication industry but have been laid off for one year and six months now as my job position became redundant . I have been doing Plumbing work since after my secondary school education and even now that I don't have a job.

So I want to migrate to Canada through express entry as a plumber. My question is thus: how do I convince Canadian embassy that I'm a professional Plumber where as I don't have any certification or license to back it up as there is no really government agency that regulate artisans in Nigeria to issue license if one meet certain requirements. please my good people advice me on how to go about this.

Thank you in anticipation for your prompt response

I think i can KNEEL DOWN to correct this assertion... It sounds untrue to me but then every case is unique.
How does paying for 2 accommodation sounds? Cost saving yea?

iaatmguy:
dont know how to compose this but just my opinion
FOR COUPLES GOING WITH CHILD(REN), please and please try to plan your settling down in canada, e.g the family should do a soft landing, then the wife and the child(ren) could come back to Nigeria to continue working, for like a year plus, maximum a year plus . the husband sh(c)ould go and hustle, familiarize for the family lol. why thishuh? settling down with children can be very daunting, due to high cost of daycare, challenges of renting an apartment, cost of transportation e.t.c. but with one person it is less costly, when the husband is settled fairly, then the family would come join (i have factored in cost of flying). but if the family stays together in CA, proof of funds would be tampered with heavily and might set some folks into panic mode. because one MIGHT not get a dream job immediately. just my two cents. I STAND TO BE CORRECTED

Goal for 2019 - How to increase your CRS Point
SOLUTIONS
1. Express entry route if these conditions apply to you-CRS Point is 440+:

Case 1: Age(18-29) with MSc/MBA, Minimum of 3yrs work experience and High IELTS Band score (L8,R7,S7,W7). Single

Case 2: Age(18-29) with BSc. Minimum of 3yrs work experience and Higher IELTS band score (L8.5,R8,S8,W8) Single

Case 3: Age(18-29) with BSc
Minimum of 3yrs work experience and Higher IELTS band score (L8.5,R8,S8,W8) Married
Additional Requirements: Spouse must have the same BSc and same IELTS Band Score as the PA.

Case 4: Same as case 1 but these are the people with 2 or more certificates
(OND & HND; OND & BSc; OND, HND & BSc) either Married/Single.

Case 5: Age(18-35) with MSc/MBA
Minimum of 3yrs work experience and High IELTS Band score (L8,R7,S7,W7). Married
Note:Spouse must score the same IELTS band and must have at least BSc which is also evaluated
Better option is L8.5,R8,S7.5 and W7.5 will see CRS points jumped to 452.
To conclude, the better your IELTS band score(L8.5,R8,S7.5&W7.5) with age and work experience as described above the brighter your opportunity of landing soon.

2. Province Nominee Program(PNP)

Age isn’t such a barrier(18-45 yrs) but your occupation is key under this program.
This is highly competitive and your occupation must be in demand for you to be nominated by the province.
Minimum of band 6 across IELTS General training is fine but better test score is more advantageous.
The allocated annual # per provinces is not that high. Most provinces have between 3000-6000 annually with only Quebec with 10,000 per year. You have to visit the Province websites and ensure you meet their criteria in order to apply. Most of the PNP are now Expression of Interest (EOI).
More details on how to Immigrate as a provincial nominee and How do I apply to immigrate to Canada as a provincial nominee?

3. French Option
Go and acquire Canadian second language by writing TEF (French exam) in order to boost your point under Language by 54 points.
This will also gives you an edge to applying to some provinces like Quebec,New Brunswick and there is possibility of Ontario as well.
Pour plus d'informations sur les examens TEF, cliquez ici

4. Additional Credentials
Add to your BSc by going for your MSc/MBA which could be taken online or in class.
Alternatively, check if you can get 1 year diploma program as well. This 1 year diploma must be recognized in Canada.

5. Study in Canada
Studies in Canada can also lead to PR after completion of your program. Studies to 3yrs Post study work permit then to PR.
To earn 3yrs post study work permit, your program must be a master’s degree/MBA or 4 semesters diploma program (18 months program)
Challenges in getting Canadian Study permit are:
1.Lack of travel history by Applicant
2.Insufficient Funds
3.Lack of ties back in home country
4.course of studies is inconsistent with previous educational history or work experience.
5.Lack of evidence of returning home(your country)
6.Medical inadmissibility
7.Criminality issue
If you can overcome the challenges above then go ahead and try applying for Canadian study permit irrespective of your age.

6. You can also check out Atlantic Pilot Project.
You can find details about the Atlantic Pilot Project HERE

In summary, in order to apply as skilled worker to Canada, you must have at least 1yr work experience in the last 10yrs under the job with skill level A, B or 0.

If it was me... I will listen to what the NOC oracle have said but lemme come and be going.
Newmum0615:
It's either you know how to paraphrase sentences or you don't. Using someone else's JD to write your own won't make it any easier for you. You may even get into trouble if you don't do it well. No two organisations can have the same wording of a job description even if they are similar job roles. I'd suggest you use the NOC listing and do a thorough rewording of the duties if you must. Another way is to work with whatever you are given from your HR and let that guide you together with the NOC list of duties to come up with something for final sign-off.
Anyone that wants to help with theirs can do so, I just gave my humble opinion sha.
