SportsRe: Segun Odegbami Runs For FIFA Presidency by smuth(m): 12:45am On Sep 02, 2015
Kiakia:
This is a joke, right? Somebody should tell that this is a joke. Does Segun Odegbami have the pedigree to contest for FIFA Presidency? I cannot recall him being in administrative position in any football body previously or curently, and even if he had been, the best procedure would have been to start from headship of the local Football Federation to garner the requisite experience and international contacts to lead a larger body such as CAF and then, FIFA. That is the expected progression method. He cannot aspire to headship of World football governing body just like that. My thought, though.
People said worst things when Obama declared his intentions to run for the President of the Almighty United States of America, nobody gave him a chance but look at him now. Now back home it appears Africans and indeed Nigerians like you have been cursed with a disease called Pull Down Syndrome also known as PDS. may God save you.

The wise man is 100% right, mr president's appointments was based on merit and wasn't motivated by any form of political sentiments or ethnicity. The best men for the job were chosen without partiality.
So all the best men for the job are all northerners...none can be found in edo state or any other state in Nigeria except the north. This is an insult to the rest of Nigeria, and for this to come from someone that is not a northerner is an absolute shame, I shake my head in dismay.

There is a new twist to slavery and it is happening before our eyes in Nigeria, a slave is now proud to be a slave.

Since the PDP lost the presidential election, the leaders and followers have been suffering from manic depressive insanity with some lucid intervals of normal behaviour. The best job left for them now is to go online to lament their woes.
President Muhammadu Buhari cannot be forced to compromise his principles by the frustrated losers and the wolves in sheep clothing surrounding him in his own ruling party, APC.

Our lazy media is responsible for celebrating most of the misinformation. They fail woefully in putting the records straight as custodians of public information.
Didn't that play I critical role in his victory during the election? Most Nigerians voted for buhari because of the 'fraudulent' convenant, Why didn't APC deny the said covenant during campaign... This is pure scam.

It is evident that Buhari is ready to clean up the mess he met....by appointing credible people in the highest revenue generating government agencies.

The only people that have problems with this appointments are the wailing wailers. ...they will rather see Buhari fail rather than Nigeria moving forward....forgetting that if Buhari fails, Nigerians like them are the biggest loosers.

PDP's style of opposition: Take credit for the good things in the first 100 days.....pass the Shitty ones to APC as their fault cheesy. How best can one be a wailing clown

Convenant or no Convenant. 100 days or 30 days. Buhari and the apc have Apparently being overwhelmed by the problems of Nigeria. The mess made by Jonathan and his cohorts was grossly underestimated. Fucck 30 days, 100 days, 6 months and all these nonsensical, inconsequential timelines. The president should just try to transform all sectors of the country by the end of his 2nd year in service. Nigerians would forgive, forget and vote him in again.
You can as well say it will take Buhari 25years to clear the mess made by the previous government... People with common sense are so scarce these days.

PassingShot:
IMPROVEMENT IN ELECTRICITY SUPPLY
The miracle we’re experiencing in this sector is very similar to what happened with the refineries. Since coming of President Buhari, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has recorded one peak power generation after the other and as such Nigerians now enjoy better power supply than during Jonathan.
Many Nigerians have therefore praised the president on this feat as can be read here: Manufacturers, others laud Buhari on improved power supply http://thenationonlineng.net/manufacturers-others-laud-buhari-on-improved-power-supply/ and here
http://encomium.ng/improvement-in-electricity-supply-excites-nigerians-2/

Jonathan’s supporters will argue that Buhari has not done anything in the power sector since his assumption of leadership; therefore whatever improvement witnessed in electricity supply is Jonathan’s work. However, the questions they have refused to answer us are the following:

1) Given that privatization of PHCN was completed since more than two years ago, why did Nigeria not witness the kind of steady and almost uninterrupted power supply we now enjoy in many major cities and towns?

2) According to TCN, the improvement is largely as a result of improvements in gas supply to the generation plants and reduction in pipeline vandalism http://www.thisdaylive.com/articles/again-tcn-records-new-power-transmission-peak-of-4662mw/215981/?utm_medium=twitter ; why was there no gas supply during Jonathan despite granting loans to the gas suppliers to provide gas? Why did we still have to contend with vandalism despite having contract in place to protect the pipelines?

3) During the last electioneering campaign in March, Goodluck Jonathan promised that electricity supply will improve “in 12 to 15 months” http://www.metronews.ng/president-jonathan-says-electricity-will-improve-in-12-15-months/ ; which is between March and June 2016. Had Jonathan known that power supply will improve in June/July 2015, would he have said 2016 especially given the fact that his reelection largely depended on this sector as well?

4) Why will Jonathan prefer to do all the work while his predecessor takes the glory especially when the current result we now enjoy is not as a result of any major efforts from Buhari?

The answers to these questions lie in the fact that nobody feared Jonathan for any punishment as a result of their non-performance. They knew there would be no consequences for their actions and inactions. As such they did as they wished since a thief has no moral ground to call another thief, thief.

ACTIONS TO FAST-TRACK IMPLEMENTATION OF UNEP REPORT
The United Nation Environmental Program published what is now known as “UNEP Report on Ogoniland” on August 4, 2011. The report was commissioned by the Federal Government as part of a wider Ogoni reconciliation process following a range of environmental issues that have left the community battered as a result of oil exploration and other illegal exploration activities.

An extract from SPDC report states that “The UNEP report highlighted significant environmental impacts from oil pollution in parts of Ogoniland relating to a variety of historical sources and ongoing crude oil theft and illegal refining activity. It identified some emergency measures requiring immediate action, particularly relating to the provision of potable water to impacted communities. It called on government, industry and communities to take action to put an end to all forms of ongoing oil contamination (including crude oil theft and illegal refining) and to begin a comprehensive clean-up of the region”. Read further here please https://s02.static-shell.com/content/dam/shell-new/local/country/nga/downloads/pdf/2014bnotes/unep.pdf

It is important to note that most of UNEP’s recommendations were directed at the federal government of Nigeria.
Following release of the report, the Goodluck Jonathan FG set up Hydrocarbon Pollution Restoration Project (HYPREP) in July 2012 to implement the UNEP’s report. It is therefore appalling, to say the least, that since July 2012 that the HYPREP was set up NOTHING was on ground to show for the government’s seriousness.

However on his part, PMB has demonstrated his readiness to implement the said UNEP Report by approving several actions to fast track implementation of the report.

The actions approved by the president include:
I) A new governance framework comprising of Governing Council, a Board of Trustees and Project Management.
II) HYPEREP Governing Council to include representatives of (1) the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, (2) Federal Ministry of Environment, (3) the affected states (4) oil companies and NNPC reps, and (5) representatives from Ogoniland and UN
III) Composition of Board of Trustees for the HYPEREP Trust Fund
IV) It was also agreed that a contribution deposit of $10 million (N2 billion) will be made by stakeholders within 30 days of the appointment of members of the Board of Trustees for the Trust Fund, who will be responsible for collecting and managing funds from contributors and donors.
http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/08/07/ogoni-hails-buhari-on-implementation-of-unep-on-ogoniland/

The irony of the Ogoni saga is the fact that the immediate past president being from the Niger Delta region was unable to do anything in this regard in the four years since the report was released. It’s no wonder that many Niger Deltans declared “Buhari is a better son of Niger Delta than Jonathan”.

The president’s efforts in this regard are also a reason for his invitation by Ban Ki-Moon to the World Leaders Summit to deliberate on a global climate change agreement in New York on September 27th. http://www.punchng.com/news/buhari-accepts-bans-invitation-to-world-leaders-meeting/

RESTRUCTURING OF NNPC
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has been aptly described by many national figures in different unpalatable terms such as “cesspool of corruption”, “engine room of corruption”, “corrupt behemoth”, etc.

According to Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI)’s investigative analysis, Nigeria lost $32 billion (N6.4 trillion at N200/$1) to massive corruption that characterized oil sales by the NNPC during the last administration alone. Had that amount not been looted, the country would have been buoyant enough to finance her 2015 budget of N4.36 trillion and still pay off her external debt of N2.03 trillion. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/headlines/187783-nigeria-lost-over-n6-4-trillion-to-corruption-ridden-nnpc-oil-sales-nrgi-report.html

There is so much corruption in NNPC that a complete overhauling of the corporation is the only right step to take. As expected of the president, he has begun the restructuring of the corporation by appointing a new Group Managing Director in the person of Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu.

The new GMD has been given a six-point agenda by President Buhari as follow:
• clean up the NNPC system of corrupt elements;
• recover all stolen crude oil funds;
• Work with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Directorate of State Service (DSS) to trace and recover stolen oil cash;
• review the structure of the NNPC to compete globally;
• giving targets to all subsidiaries and put in place performance benchmarks; and
• Fix all refineries, which must work at optimal level, “even if it means using expatriates in the interim”
http://dailypost.ng/2015/08/05/how-buhari-appointed-new-nnpc-boss-kachikwu/

Since his appointment, the new GMD has taken a number of measures to achieve the desired results and the man recently “assured that in the next 60 days, some of the strategic targets would be translated into concrete milestones to the appreciation of Nigerians”. http://www.nigerianeye.com/2015/08/nnpc-assures-nigerians-of-profitable.html

To underscore importance of the president’s restructuring of NNPC to rid it of corruption, the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) recently commended the president on his determination and efforts so far. http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/08/19/ijaw-youths-commend-buhari-for-restructuring-nnpc/

In conclusion, Nigerians were lucky to be able to get rid of the last administration that was only interested in looting their common wealth for the benefit of a privileged few in the corridors of power.

“Goodluck Jonathan and his team would have looted the country to bankruptcy within a year if they were not removed from office. We should be grateful that a disciplined and upright man has taken over to clean the mess and save the country" - Prof. Itsay Sagay.
So you mean you spent all these days preparing this trash you call achievement, 90% of what you listed were all done by the previous government, honestly only a fool will call all you listed as achievements, all I can see is 'will' I have not seen 'have'. Please compare your epistole to that of what GEJ achieved in his first 100 days and you will now Buhari still dey learn work.

I just can't believe people like you are still falling for the scam called Buhari

PoliticsBuhari Never Promised He Was Going To Do Anything In 100 Days- Lai Mohammed by smuth(op):
APC national spokesperson, Lai Mohammed this morning on Channels TV said President Buhari never promised to do anything within his 1st 100 days in office.

"Buhari never promised to do anything in 100 days, that's the honest truth. You see, when you are running a campaign, all kinds of literature will emerge from all sorts of groups but I came here and I said there are only just two documents that you can judge a party with. that is the constitution of the party and the manifesto of the party. Those are the only two documents that are registered with INEC you can go to court on or hold a party accountable for" he said

His statement comes a few days after presidential spokesperson, Shehu Garba released a statement distancing President Buhari from two documents tagged "One Hundred Things Buhari Will Do in 100 Days" and the other, "My Covenant With Nigerians.". The documents had a list of promises President Buhari and APC during their campaign, vowed to fulfill within his 1st 100 days in office if elected.

The statement in part reads "

"Both pamphlets bore the authorized party logo but as the Director of Media and Communications in that campaign, I did not fund or authorize any of those. I can equally bet my last Kobo that Candidate Buhari did not see or authorize those publications. As a consequence of these publications, expectations have been raised unreasonably, that as President, Muhammadu Buhari will wave his hand and all the problems that the country faces- insecurity, corruption, unemployment, poor infrastructure would go away. But that notwithstanding, President Buhari has given the job his best shot and the whole country is saying that we never had it so good. He has re-instituted the values of hard work and administrative efficiency. The President says times without number that this country needs to fix governance and that he won't tolerate laziness".

Truth is you have never made any sense since childhood...the guy that asked if your father abused you was actually right...it is obvious your father slept with you and told you not to tell anyone about it...this is the reason for your endless frustration at anybody you ever come across. Or how else can someone describe your chronic case? May God help you.

This report is so fake and shallow that only idiots will believe. In the first place, the issuer of the statement doesn't have a name. Secondly how possible is it that a ruling party will come out to give a statement on their inability to fulfill a manifesto just 3 months into a 4 year tenure even before assembling its team? This report is scandalous and loaded with obvious ulterior motives. Unfortunately the gullible ones here are already making the expected comments and exhibiting the expected behavior. What is the rush to take on APC on campaign promises all about?? In as much as a virile opposition is desirable for sustenance of democracy, such opposition must be reasonably and constructively critical. It must distance itself from scandal and mischief.
Wake up from your slumber, this is not the first time nor will it be the last time APC will deny their campaign promises either openly or secretly.

Did you put cotton wool in your ears when the president spokesperson told Nigerians that Buhari never said he would declare his asset publicly?

How about the 'I will chase boko haram out of Nigeria in two months' episode.

APC have been a party built on lies and deceit and most Nigerians are aware of this...to come on Nairaland to defend them of being truthful is like saying Obasanjo impregnated Paris Hilton.

People will never take you seriously if you think APC don't lie.
