MrsChima: So men just so happens to be qualified in every job opportunities? So why aren't many women being hired in male dominant fields such as construction to name one? Lol, women! They must grumble, why aren't men complaining about women having dominance in the nursing profession? I wouldn't be wrong if I say medicine is even more intellectually taxing than architecture & engineering, but we have more female doctors, lawyers than female engineers, architects, & the female doctors, lawyers are more active in their fields than the female architects & engineers. Construction is stressful & back-breaking, most female civil engineers, architects don't end up to practice their profession, not because of discrimination, but because of the back-breaking nature of these profession, of which construction is top on the list. We have many female lawyers doing well in their field, because law is intellectually more demanding, likewise medicine. But in construction, physical strength is required, if u say is an africa thing, watch the construction of most skyscrappers & bridges, u hardly see women on site. A female architect was assigned to execute a full day to day project, but she fell ill when the project got to a certain stage, because of stress, & a male was designated to complete the project. It has to do with physical strength, because construction is stressful & back-breaking. I don't think having lesser women in the construction industry has anything to do with discrimination, I think it has to do with the back-breaking nature & stress... |

gj22: They arent given the same opportunities as men
ofcourse, its getting less now because of the feminism movement but its still there.
If a man and a woman apply for a job, the man is most likely to get picked without even giving the woman a chance to prove she is capable.
ofcourse you might say women dont really try but i will tell you that its what happens when you nurture someone to grow up and be submissive. Its the way society has formed them like they dont stand a chance competing against men.
Just look around you, the signs are everywhere. @ the emboldened, it's not true. Employers accept applicants based on what they can offer, not on the premise of gender. haba! where do u get your facts from? |
Romance › Re: Is Feminism Truly A Waste Of Time? by snakebeat: 6:56pm On Jul 28, 2015 |
gj22: Oh really?
Just so you know, i said it was belittling not oppressive
In today's society, "man" is synonymous to "strong, in control, brave"... "woman" is synonymous "weak, scared , whinny".
You dont see anything wrong with that? or are you saying i am lying?
when a man acts scared, you call him a woman. when a woman acts brave, you call her a man. you dont see anything wrong with this?
man is seen as a positive word while woman is as a negative word.
Let me bring it down to something you can relate to... racism
have you ever wondered why no one cares if a black man is racist to a white man but once the white man says the N word, everyone goes gaga? @the emboldened, it's not true & u know it. It's a well know fact that men are stronger than women, it doesn't apply to humans alone, always try to watch natgeo adv, u'll understand what I mean. U can't compare the strength of a lion to that of a lioness, or a cock to hen, it's natural, i think u should rather blame God for making women the weaker sex, not man. People refer to men as strong because they are truly strong & brave. Take samson as a case study, that's is if u're a christian, he killed a lion, all the battles that were fought in the bible & olden days, nigeria civil war, world war, libya fight, etc were led by men, even till date. I can categorically tell u only men constitutes the soldiers that are fighting in the northern part of nigerian. Despite the spate of wars in africa, have u ever seen women fighting? Only male soldiers are deployed to battle fields, because by nature, women aren't tough, if u're a wrestling fan, how will john cena vs any lady sound to u? Saying men are stronger & more brave than women isn't demeaning at all, it's the truth, & no one can dispute that. Most of the things we are using today were invented by men, technology, architecture, medicine, engineering, law, politics etc, men were at the fore front in ensuring these things came into reality. Even women acknowledge the fact that they are the weaker sex, but taking advantage of their weakness is what they should be agitating against, not debating which sex is stronger...... But are u sure u're a man? Honestly u sound like a woman with so much hatred for men. |
Romance › Re: Is Feminism Truly A Waste Of Time? by snakebeat: 3:54pm On Jul 28, 2015 |
gj22: Take a look at history. Women had no choice in matters at all.
You hear of a woman wanting to become a doctor and her dad tells her "there's no point sending her to school"
Statements like "a woman's place is in the kitchen"
Girls doing men's job are actually laughed at and called men-like names
Girls doing weight lifting or in the Olympics get laughed at.
All these are social oppression.
And they still happen today, they are not just history.
A man will say stuff like "stop acting like a woman". This statement is sexist and it is belittling. It implies that women are lesser than men. @ the emboldened, it's quite funny... Man & woman have distinct personalities, physique, character, voice etc... Often times I hear people telling women, stop acting, dressing, talking & behaving like a man, how does that sound oppressive? Because by nature male & female are two distinct genders. So it's normal for anyone to talk when one gender act like the other... |

Daninya11: Guys, these rules works like magic. It's like a formula you must follow to safely arrive at your answer.
1-When a girl ignores your message twice, leave her alone. She ain't blind, she just choose to ignore it. There is no more need sending more messages. Move on to the next girl sharply..
2-When a girl accept your request, seriously typing "thanks for accepting my request" is very lame.. Do it in her inbox. Some of you get ignored when you type that crap on your wall..
3-You don't need to be a male LovePeddler. Don't woo every girl on your list. Some are good enough to be just friends with you..
4-Guy, don't be thirsty dude on a girl's post, simply hit the like button and move on. If you need to comment, make it brief and interesting. Don't go begging her to add you..
5-Bro, if the picture is beautiful like it and give a simple compliment. If it's not, there is no need lying to get her Attention..
6-Buddy, when chatting you don't spend your whole time telling a girl how beautiful she is, a hundred guys have told her how beautiful she is everyday. They find it boring when you join the train..
7-If you find yourself always starting the convo with a Particular person, like you are always the first to message her, please stop it for a while. If she doesn't notice, you are not important to her.. Leave her alone..
8- If you both don't roll, don't tag her to your pix. She might find it offensive..
9-The lesser of you, the better for you. When you are all over her wall, all over her pictures commenting and liking everything, you are less appreciated because you are acting thirsty.
10-When you compliment a girl on her pictures and another person compliments her on the same picture and she thanked the other dude and skip your name, please remove your comment. It wasn't necessary.. God bless u... One or two persons will definitely gain frm this write up..... |

cococandy: He could have just told the lady he wanted to have sex. That's the thing with some of you guys. You don't know what you want. If she opened her legs that first day she went to visit him, he would still be the one to come and open a thread on how she's a hoe and so easy to lay. If she does otherwise, she's still bad.
It's like there's no way for a lady to be respected in some guys dictionaries. It's in their psych. Do or don't, she will still be damned.
That's why I think she's better off without him and the so called friend.
By the way what's commendable about being a layabout? Shaarrraap! Why didn't she tell d op she wasn't interested, instead of milking him alongside her friend? wasn't she given enough time to think abt d guy's proposal? That's selfishness, she wanted to keep d op in d limbo, while she enjoys her life. What the op did is laudable & he deserves accolades... |

ColinAdua: It seems, I have been very critical to the womenfolk.
Please, I don't hate women. Women are very beautiful, sweet and attractive to behold, but I don't want to have any emotional relationship with anyone of them, at all, marriage or otherwise.
The issues are; the selfishness, the attitudes, the pride, the arrogance, the foolishness, which leads to distractions, stress, clutters, clusters, arguments, wastefulness, anger, hate, malice, bitterness, bickerings, disorganizations etc.
Hence, I prefer singlehood for life and encourage it.
If you feel offended as a result of my stance, believes, writings and beckonings to my fellow guys.
Please I sincerely apologize; SORRY. Kindly forgive me, but I have to present the truth as I see and understand it. And I have freedom to express myself.
God bless you all. Apologise for what? I don't understand what u mean by saying u're critical to the womenfolks? The greatest man that ever lived on earth never got married. Marriage is not a must for those who got self control. Two major things make people to go into marriage, sex & children. If one can control his/her sexual desires, then he/she is fit to remain single. Marriage is a must for those who got no self control, even after marriage, they still keep numerous boyfriends/girlfriends. Paul led a single life, likewise elijah & other great prophets in the bible. If u are confident in ur ability not to fornicate, singleness is the best. Though many people may decry ur decision, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Christ supports singleness, moreover he led a single life while on earth... |

Feminism has turned men into evil and abusive beings. Men have no rights and have been subjected to unfair practices especially in divorce cases and child custody battle.
However, I don't see anything wrong with men cooking and taking care of the house, especially if the wife is working more than the husband, or if the husband is a stay at home dad. Fun Fact: Do you know that 91% of executive chefs are male? But ur gender says otherwise. Aren't u proud of ur gender? |
