This news is nothing but fabricated lies from the pits of hell!....I've been on campus and no news of such is making the rounds. The part where they said timetables are posted on notice boards is laughable as no such thing exists. If at all this is true which is notn the unilag website and unilag mobile services would have communicated such. The only thing that is certain is that the registration portal will be reopened on monday for students to complete their reg. |

Fynestboi: Another New development, we are adding this to the proceduere. School Anthem... The chief speaker of the supporting side would post their school anthem first followed by Opposing side chief speaker before the coordinator(referee) would declare the debate open. Hence all chief speaker for each school must be ready with their school anthem...Na wa o, school anthem loun loun...are gon' sing it before every debate?  hope you guys haven't been carried away by the excitement and inadvertently forgotten this thing is an online thing sha before we hear that provisions are being made to serve debaters tea and light refreshment  That being said, I've never come across a UNILAG anthem in my 4 year sojourn  hope my oga at the above damoskiy can help in that regard. 1 Like |

Perhaps cos of strike, does anyone have an idea when application would begin...Its still far away, am guessing you are newly admitted. First you will have to complete ur screening and reg. First cuz hostel app and allocation is now done online and computer generated based on details. And before that happens, the end of the current session which is still 1 month pending must be through and the DLI folks will then move into the hostels for their own residential programme its after their own that hostel app can begin for a new session...say around march next year if they call off their strike this year. |

ayomidis: same dept and 1st year... But even now i still dont get the idea of med1 med 2 and executive are all this in the space of 2years?For real? Are u already in year 1 or just about to enter? Cuz I know a lot of year 1 guys as am the welfare sect. Of the society for architecture students body. Abt M.ed1 and 2 and exec, u know before architecture used to be a straight 6 year course with b.sc and masters straight cuz that's what u require as its a professional course but it was then relaxed to 4 years bsc and in unilags case 2 years (M.ed) cuz not er'body practices the course once u graduate so the remainin 2 years M.ed is now optional but essential if u wanna practice. Executive is 3 years cuz its on a part time basis with lectures on weekends but it has been scrapped by the department now. |

E.g if you say It's good then you can talk about the education stuff if You're saying It's wrong then you can talk about another one that goes with your point. It's broad, anything that adds to your points can be used. . . . damoskiy: Coordinator I beg help us change the topic oooo....we UNILAG student have thought over the topic....the topic is not making sense to us....As in! Was expecting a lot more "happening" topic but I guess the more the challenge posed by the topic, the higher the premium on victory and that could help boost confidence for other rounds. |

When it says "Teachers should be banned from INTERACTING wit students via social networking websites" on what basis for interaction are we looking at here? Interaction based on educational matters, interaction based on familiarity or interaction altogether? I just saw this coming...everyone knows they were certain to suspend their strike in the botched NEC meeting as the votes at the congresses suggested but instead of them to just simply make the announcement suspending their strike while they mourn their fallen comrade, they decided to postpone "Indefinitely" which could be later fixed for next year or whenever, meaning yet again we have to continue suffering for what we know nothing about. A classic case of robbing peter to pay paul. *shrugs* 1 Like |

Corruption!! We have this in abundance that is why our growth as a country has been stunted for decades. This in itself is underlying in the fact that the whole concept of politics is being bastardised in the sense that people don't go into politics with the mindset of serving the people, delivering quality leadership hinged upon patriotism but rather with these mindset of "chopping out of the national cake" and this cancer has eaten deep into the fabrics of the society. It is estimated that over $500 billion has been squandered by corrupt politicians from independence till date. Image how far this country could have gone if that amount had been put to good use. |

damoskiy: Have read thru...I think we need to do a little review of the whole process...I have some questions to askI think No 2 issue would have been a very valid suggestion if we were doing this in person but this is an online thing and having to compile and combine while substituting and adding could be a quite a challenge and would waste unecessary time. The issue of points duplication which you raised, if u ask me is rather inconsequential because its gon' be done on a "1 debater against another debater" basis and not a "2 debater against 2 debater" basis or so I understand it unless am wrong. @topic, pls let's nominate only people who we are sure will be fair as a judge because am seeing some monikers people are nominating and am wondering if such nominations were well thought through. For example someone nominated sincere 9gerian...it won't be totally out of place to suggest that should you fall under a topic where you have to question or go against goodluck jonathan's policies, automatically you've already lost points if not the debate from his point of view so let's be wise please in nominating ONLY fair, detribalised and unbiased judges based on their character and objectivity as reagrds their comments on nairaland |

In unilag, we were supposed to start our second semester exams by 5th august and it takes about 2-3 weeks max so if the strike is called off next week its virtually impossible for me to still graduate this year. |

You don't know the Lady or her husband, she appeared to be equally concerned like most on the pains of the strike and if she has any information that can raise the hopes of those wishing the strike would be called off, fact or rumour, just because you don't believe her story which u can prove to be a lie or truth yourself, it does not give you the reason to disrespect her like that...its better not to say anything than to say something and reveal the kind of background you have as a person. Wait....if they forcefully re-open the universities disregarding ASUU should it refuse their newest offer, who exactly are those who gon' teach us? Between, I like this new found vibe by the FG to put an end to this madness but question is: did they have to wait this long to get serious about this issue? The president himself was the one who told us on a live media chat that government has done all it can that Nigerians should direct their concerns to ASUU while we remain at home as if it was ASUU we all voted for? It is when the strike has clocked exactly 4 months he now realises he wields enough power as the commander in chief to finally put an end to this. Only shows the kind of leaders we have. 16 Likes |

Am not surprised dangote is seen as more powerful than jonathan. Jonathan has not really asserted himself as the commander in chief. He's not as bullish as he should on critical decisions and that's why he sometimes appear clueless which may not necessarily be the case. |
