I am speechless...

The Federal Government needs to act fast and infact act now... Put a halt to trade deals with America immediately and pull out of all bilateral deals if they refuse to stop.

We won't survive these attacks if war breaks out. We won't!

Will Zambia be bold enough to imprison him?
Ehiscotch:
Why did they have to post pictures of the girl when it should be quite obvious that she was exploited?

She should first be taken care of with food and shelter and not be pictured with that paedophile.

Anyways, what do you expect from the "paedophilic" capital of the world.
Politics / Re: Osun 2018 Inconclusive Election - Leave Mahmood Yakubu Alone - Dr. Chima Mathew by Softhands(m): 2:30pm On Sep 24, 2018
Goat...between the Electoral Constitution and Constitution of Nigeria, which superceeds the other? Make una dey do like headless chickens for there...
PassingShot:
This thread was done by a core PDP man in person of Dr. Chima Mathew Amadi (twitter handle @Amadichima). It is refreshing and educating for those who are willing to be educated. Enjoy!

A few hours ago, the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the Osun State Governorship elections inconclusive. This bold action has triggered all manners of verbal umbrage against the elections Umpire but particularly, the Head of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu.Conspiracy theorists have latched upon this action to vent their anger on a man whose only “sin” was that he was appointed by the current president. But before delving into the Incredulity of judging a man’s character and competence for job through the lenses of his appointing authority, let us dispassionately examine today’s action by the EMB and try to anchor its legality or otherwise against the provisions of the statutes that undergird elections in our land.

First, the Constitution and the Electoral Act made it mandatory on INEC to conduct free, fair and credible elections. To achieve this, the voter is key. His/her vote must count. Protecting the sanctity of the vote is crucial. The entire electoral legal framework is intended to achieve this objective. Responsibilities are assigned, processes and procedures defined and sanctions prescribed all with the intention of achieving that objective.

Specifically Section 153 of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended) empowers the Commission, in pursuit of the provisions of the Act, to "issue regulations, guidelines, or manuals for the purpose of giving affect to the provisions of this Act and for its administration thereof". Accordingly, INEC has made guidelines and regulations to protect the sanctity of the vote in instances where the processes are disrupted to disenfranchise voters. It is common knowledge that politicians have hijacked ballot papers, chased away voters and disrupted processes and procedures in order to gain unfair advantage.

That is why INEC formulated guidelines and regulations to the effect that where voters are disenfranchised on account of someone's disruptive action, INEC gives such voters another opportunity to vote where their number will make a difference to the outcome of the election. The Commission has been applying this regulation in several elections. So there is nothing new here. This was applied in Governorship elections in Imo (2011 and 2015), Anambra (2013), Taraba (2015), Kogi ,Bayelsa (2015) etc.

Science/Technology / Re: What You Need To Know About Computer Village In Otigba, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria by Softhands(m): 10:19am On Sep 24, 2018
Computer village is sitting in a strategic location. One of the facilities that impacts it, is the MM1 and MM2 Airport sitting next to it...other major roads link into computer village... if I was ambode, I will rather build a model market in that place...and forgo the master plan...who masterplan epp self?
HigherEd:
Computer Village is the largest information and communication technology accessory market in Africa located in Otigba, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.

It sits on land originally planned by the Lagos State Government to be a residential area. Today, despite her many challenges it serves as the largest marketplace for tech gadgets in Nigeria. Much of Computer Village troubles range from theft to sale of counterfeit or unlicensed products and a government bent on relocating it, regardless, the economic impact is undisputable.

According to a former minister, Computer village generates about $2 billion annually; the community also generates over 60 million naira in levies for the Ikeja metropolitan area.

A quick visit to computer village would leave you astonished as to the hundreds of young adults working across different layers of the service sectors. Some are marketers feeding the technicians with customers needing gadget repairs and equally feeding the sellers with buyers.

It's an amazing ecosystem! However don't be fooled, you could easily get your hands burnt in computer village. Many today have sour tales of purchase gone wrong. Numerous times, the Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) has had to raid the community. Personally, I have also had my own fair share of awry experiences at Computer Village, but today isn't the time for story telling.

As His Excellency, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode reemphasized the Government's age long stance to relocate Computer Village to Kantagora in Abule Egba area of the State, the news has been greeted with nostalgia in Lagos. Some are of the opinion the state should retain her initial master plan designating the area as a residential place, while others especially in the business community think computer village in her present community could be transformed and remodeled into a hive of innovation and a hub for tech startups.

Today, in the business community a number of strategic meetings are taking place to see if the current Computer Village can be salvaged. This is important because much of the growth of computer village has been fueled by creativity, spontaneity and deregulation. In contrast today, Silicon valley, California is home to the world's leading tech companies such as Apple, HP, Adobe, Twitter, Facebook etc. Silicon Valley has enriched her metropolitan area so much so that the combination of San Jose, Santa Clara and southern bay's GDP of $235 billion is nearly equal to Ireland's entire GDP of $238 Billion. Silicon Valley is also home to 74 billionaires in USD. A combination of Apple and Facebook employ about 44,000 people.

Can the Computer Village of Otigba community become Nigeria's Silicon Valley?

Whatever the outcome may become in the near future, one thing is clear, individuals working in Computer Village are averse to the idea of relocating to Kantagora. It is in fact unclear whether the Computer Village we know can be replicated elsewhere. Whatever the case, if it survives it would be a product of a deliberate attempt to save it by the Government and private sector. Its impact will be phenomenal!

InvisibleB:
Dear Nairalanders

Over the weekend, i got invited to a wedding by a friend who is related to the couple getting married. So I put on one of my nice outfits and went with my friend. The wedding went smoothly, and we then left for the venue of the reception. When we got there after eating and drinking, the couple hit the dance floor and started dancing. So guests joined them on the dance floor and started dancing with them and spraying them money. I waited for my food to digest a little and then beckoned on a lady selling new notes. I bought some so i could spray the couple too.

While I was waiting for some people to leave the dance floor so I could dance and spray the couple a group of boys entered the hall surrounding a guy in the middle who looked like their leader who was carrying bundles of new naira notes. They started to spray the couple several bundles of high denomination of naira raising eyebrows. They exchange pleasantries with the groom and left. Soon after they left several groups entered and repeated the same thing. Most of these guys were in their 20's and obviously, wire boys. I became hesitant to get up and go spray my small change. I went outside to see what was happening and marvelled at the kind of exotic cars they brought. One group had soldiers guarding them! Yes, Nigerian Army soldiers!

Brethren, I cannot do wire wire, because I have a sensitive conscience and it pains me when my money is stolen, but I have come under pressure over the years from several of my friends to do it as i am good with computers. I have made some money online from adsense and crypto but right now both of these niches are at a low ebb. I really want to have and spend money like those guys, what legit online stuff are you doing that is paying very well that you would advise that I learn and do? Thanks for taking the time to read. Happy Sunday

iammo:

its only $2.5bn worth of yuan (16bn rmb) that CBN got from Peoples bank of china and total trade volume between Nigeria and China is $13.8bn a year, this can't really have drastic impact, as not all nigerian traders can access the Chinese currency from CBN only few people that qualifies for it if what you want to import is only CBN approved list.

In reality if you still want to travel to china, you would be wise to get yourself your dollars from an aboki, because your chances of getting Yuan from CBN may be slim

The real question is did they or did they not have sex? Is sex against the rules or not? Whichever means the caught them is inconsequential to what's at hand.

Exactly. There lies the problem.

A school that a house of rep son was expelled from and them no gree hear I beg... u think they send you there? The man thought because of his influence he could talk to Bishop and they will reinstate the child... For where? Papa asked the man to go and make his case before the School authorities as he has nothing to do with meddling in their affairs... They have rules and they follow it strictly... Oga house of rep had to take shame to enrol his child again in another school...glorified sec school or not, one thing u can't take away from them is strict adherence to the school rules... And the good thing is, all the CU graduates I know are very decent and disciplined... So leave that thing o...let them continue to be strict... It is for the general good.

You see Nigeria Government and their cruelty.

MTN Nigeria came into Nigeria and provided thousands of unemployed Nigerian youths with Jobs and they r paying well until federal government came and used NCC to do their dirty deeds by attacking them..MTN are still paying the so called fine issued to them by the federal government and also massively laying off their staffs because they r trying to cut cost by any means necessary. but our so called corrupt politician will embezzle money and take it to a foreign country to invest regardless of unemployment rate in our country..and is the same politician that will be fight foreign investors that CAME to rescue us from the hardship inflicted on us by THEM. very soon MTN WILL GO..

The question that i want to ask us is this; why are u investing at the first place? my own humble answer is to make profit.. so stop attacking foreign investors that came to our rescue since you guys can not help us.
