luvmijeje: Honestly, I don't understand how a person that has been a governor and currently a president could be caught so unaware. This is called political sucide, 7 governors! SMH.In Nigerian political terms, it also means several senators , house of reps members, etc. My observation is that the old PDP is now a minority in the senate and house of reps. The coalition of APC and the new PDP is now the majority.. Do not be surprised as more state chapters become factionalised in the coming days. PDP R.I.P. |
icon aus: you re wrong . some of you pretend not to know what is going on or are ignorant . The presidency went to the unexpected region which is not born to rule or yoruba hence the problem GEJ is having . just his root . The problem is that some people/tribes are not comfortable with where the president came from hence the attack and GEJ while trying to fight back he is labelled ethnic president . Some people are afraid of the rise of old eastern region hence the smear campaign and pull him down symdrome. The huasa and the yorubas should know that this country belongs to us all . So far GEj has out performed all other former presidents despite the security challenges . Nigeria is watching . I dont know how some people reason . You make the nation ungovernable to GEJ and u expect others to make it easy for your tribes man when he climbs the seat of presidency ; that is not possible . The south south had all along been supporting northners and s west even during the civil war and see how they are being repaid . I think they will fail . GEJ must be president till 2019 or no nigeria.L this is nothing but the usual pathetic gibberish from the Jonathan crowd. was obj not criticised and opposed during his first term? Did Alex ekwueme not contest the PDP primary with him in 2003? Did BUHARI not challenge him during the 2003 election proper? was yaradua not criticised and forced out by the people. Was it because they are from the old eastern region.?? this constant resort to ethnic and religious blackmail to excuse Jonathan's failing is not working because you cannot force us to acknowledge a performance that is not there . Jonathan should face governance. His too early obsession with 2015 is what is causing all these problems in his party and overheating the polity. |
ilebaami: GEJ is not divisive. The S/Western Press fed their readers with the junk some of them now believe. GEJ is letting things take their natural path. "no matter how far the lie may travel, the truth will catch up with it in a second". The big problem of the renegades is that they started their rebelion too early. By next year Atiku and Co. will be history. Please educate me on any decisive step lonathan has ever taken in his presidency without his trademark policy flipflop. He lets things take their natural cause and only too late and too little. Is that how a leader acts? As usual, blame his failings on anything but Jonathan. |
anonimi: Please remind us if OBJoke delivered on his promises 1999-2007.escapism. Did Jonathan promise fresh air. Did he promise transformation? has he delivered on the promises. There is no need for long grammar. You Jonathan apologist never cease to amaze me. We are talking about Jonathan , you are bringing obj matter. As far as am concerned, they both have two things in common: PDP AND FAILED PROMISES! |
atlwireles: I am going to tell you this fact today, PDP just found internal political peace. Atiku and his gang, just like the NGF, outplayed themselves. Nigerians watched on the as PDP had a peaceful and fun filled convention. The desperation of Atiku and his followers will only make the PDP a better and more coherent party. You don't have to agree, but my friend, that's the truth.and do you really believe this is the end of the crisis in the PDP? do you honestly believe PDP will ever know peace again? I am going to tell you this fact today. PDP peace is always that of the grave yard and the chicken will always later come home to roost. with this I say, my friend, have a good night. |
taharqa: Oh, SHUT ya Mouth tha guy. You hv been running ya mouth anyhow since. Who told you that whateva is happening in PDP today is cos of d 'Competence or not' of d President? WAR has been declared on d President by a section of d country in cohorts with certain interest since b4 he even won d last election. OPEN WAR from d start. The Warriors in this instance wants d seat, and even d head, of d President; that's d mission. There reali was not any real chance for a trunce, at least as far as these people were concerned. The fact that it has come to this is very much cos of d nature of d WAR, not d Competence or otherwise of d person upon whom d War was declared. And this is why what just happened today is in d best political interest of d President: since these people want 'War', take complete control of d Party, flush them all out and take the 'W ar' to them; and importantly, a clear 1.5 years b4 d elections. These people wud never had been of any good to you (out of their own choice) in fact their continual stay within may likely be a soft weakness- therefore bring them all out in d open, make new Alliances and Consolidate with d significant time left on yr handand define d Game on your own terms. Now, let me just say GOODLUCK to those persons who have the misfortunate to face d Presidency of Nigeria in a Political War more than 1 year b4 elections. I reali wish them luckMay be you should shut your mouth because your emotional response, typical of most of you Jonathan apologist , is the usual victim cry and claptrap. First, which section declared war on Jonathan from the outset? Jonathan had a pan Nigeria mandate. He squandered it by his indecisivenss and incompetence.. Look, I am ashamed to say it now, but I voted for him. it was when it became obvious that he does not have what it takes that most people lost confidence in him. It is you army of Jonathan supporters that introduced tribal and religious sentiment into the mix to cover up his obvious failings and ineptitude. If Yoruba did not like Jonathan, why did they vote for him? he won in the south west. Remember? You are saying bring them out in the open when Jonathan remains clueless and lacks a clear strategy as to how to fight even this battle .He lacks the capacity to tackle a dificulty until it becomes a predicament. even this whole crisis in PDP could have being nipped in the bid if he has any modicum of emotional intelligence. I know it is a painful truth to admit for a guy you have strong clannish affiliation to, but you guys should face the sad fact that Jonathan lacks leadership qualities and the capacity to take decisive steps before it is too late. By the way, don't you ever ask me to shut up again. This is a public forum where I have the right to express my views just like you have the right to express yours.. |
atlwireles: Why do you see problems hereto answer your last question: they might want to negotiate with APC as a group. they might want to move enmasse at the same specific time.. these are master political strategist so I can only guess. But all this is besides the point. It is PDP that is losing his governors not APC. it is PDP problem, not APC's.. There is a saying in my place: the king that reigns and the town prosper, his name will never be forgotten. The king that also reigns and the town scatters his name will never be forgotten. When it comes to PDP, Jonathan's name shall forever remains in infamy!! |
Olumidzti: you're deluded if you think jonathan 'll win all those northern state especially if apc produce a candidate from north & vice from south west. Don't even dream, he won't win lagos this time or south west for that matter.what else do you expect from a guy that does not know that zamfara is not a PDP state! the guy is even projecting Jonathan will win katsina and bauchi state! |
Billyonaire: Every discerning person will understand that after the Failure of Governors Forum as a class action opposition group within the PDP, the disgruntled elements have taken their folly to the PDP front, this is where they will be politically buried.INEC recognised only one faction in ANAMBRA state, does that mean the other faction does not exist? guy live with it. Your PDP is now factionalized. One faction has 7 governors while the other has 14. At least for now! |
Nonybb: Association of Past Criminals, APC should not take this as a weak point cos PDP still got south east and the igbos, and the igbos still got their back. We are here!In fact, Jonathan does not even need the south south, igbo votes alone can return him come 2015.! Is there a limit to this delirious delusion? Your Jonathan cannot even hold his party together talkless the country. if he has addressed the issue in the governors forum the way a true leader should PDP will not come to this sorry pass under his leadership. As at now, Jonathan became the leader of PDP with 23 governors., now they are less than 17. As a result of his incompetence his party has become fictionalized for the first time in it's history. Meanwhile Jonathan supporters - always mostly from the south east-are here blaming everybody else when the real problem lies with their man. What a dangerous kind of love.! |
Sincere 9gerian: My worry in this whole matter is that it is more distractions and distractions for the president. Add PDP faction to Boko Haram, crude oil theft, PHCN and gas pipeline vandalism, kidnapping and the main challenge of fulfilling electoral promises, then you'll realise that the president's table is FULL.This is one problem I have with you Jonathan supporters. Jonathan obsession with 2015 even when he has not delivered on his promises in 2011 is the root cause of the problem in his party and the country.. Jonathan is the one causing all the distractions for himself because instead of concentrating on governance, he is busy playing dirty politics right from the imposition of an obviously equally incompetent bamanga tukur. to fighting AMAECHI for an imaginary vice presidential ambition. Jonathan is the most divisive president this country has ever had because he and his supporters like you are constantly throwing up the ethnic and religious card to cover up his obvious incompetence.. |
figment232: Amaechi is a disrespectful arrogant he-goat GEJ doesnt need him.precisely my point. Jonathan does not have the emotional intelligence of a leader. he needs amaechi than amaechi needs him, To me, the river crisis is more a commentary on jonathan than amaechi. |
bappahman: Expected such from G5 nd rivers but kwara was the suprise for meplease be ready for more surprises. I know for a fact that the crisis in PDP is deeper than what most people are seeing right now. And unfortunately for them, the person that is supposed to provide leadership for them, jonathan, cannot give what he does not have. what pains me most is that I voted for Jonathan in 2011. I have to live with the possibility that Jonathan's leadership incompetence might not lead only to the dismemberment of PDP- as we now seeing- but also the Balkanization of my beloved country. God forbid! |
chukwudi44: If GEJ wants to rig the elections, all he needs is the nod of INEC and the security agents whom he already controls. The governors are powerless without the control of the security agents.I see you are one of those arm stair analyst. You need an almost absence of opposition to turn out inflated figures for an election in a given location. That was why the inflated figures that ca,me out of the SS / SE were possible. with opposition in a critical base like rivers, Jonathan will be adding insults to his injuries. look all AMAECHI needs to finish Jonathan is just to be a good spoiler. |
chukwudi44: Bros keep your nonsensence permutations ro yourself.GEJ might loose woefully in the other southwestern states but not in lagos with a sizeable population of non-yorubas especially the igbos.Nassarrawa,Taraba, plateau, benue, southern kadunnna, xtian adamawa, xtian Niger, are 100% sure for GEJ.you aremaking a big mistake. like most of Jonathan's you seemsto be banking on the religious divide card. I livein the north and have done my research, believe me, you in for a very big shock! Before you realise that you are the one making nonsensical permutations , Jonathan will be out of govt. As for Lagos, you are talking to someone thatunderstand Lagos politics very well. So I will wager you: if Jonathan wins Lagos, I will relocate with my family to cotonou. please bookmark this and take me up on it then. |
chukwudi44: All this talk about governors supporting GEJ or not is balderdash.GEJ will loose in Jigawa,Kano,Sokoto with or without the Governor's support.Likewise he will win in Rivers with or without the Governor's support.without the support of the governor, he cannot concoct a 100 percent votes from an incredible 100 percent turn out of registered voters. You and I know that those figures from SS/ SE in the last election were imflated. the more issues Jonathan has in his stronghold of south south and south east the more ignominious his defeat will be in 2015. Jonathan is not emotionally intelligent at all or else he would have better managed AMAECHI of all people. |
atlwireles: SOME OF YOU, NEED POLITICAL EDUCATION, BEFORE OPENING YOUR MOUTHS IN PUBLIC. DID JONAH WIN KANO, KADUNA,JIGAWA,NIGER AND SOKOTO IN 2011I honestly think you are the one that needs political education here. You are making a very fundamental mistake here: a lot of people's perception of Jonathan has changed tremendously since that election and now. Then most people did not really know Jonathan then but we're willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for many reasons. In all the states you listed Jonathan had sizable votes and the required one third. he also won in most states in the south west. if an election should take place today, Jonathan will lose overwhelmingly in the south west, north west and north east. he will also lose lose galantly in the north central states of Niger, kwara and nasarawa states,. only three states in the north west / south west will neutralise any votes he can muster in his SE / SS stronghold. if I was a Jonathan supporter I will be afraid. Very afraid. |
Sincere 9gerian: Personally, I prefer Dora Akunyili to one hundred Ngige. But this is Africa where many people will neither support nor vote for Dora simply because she is a woman. How many women are holding elective positions at the moment? That alone says it all.Are you suggesting anambra people did not vote for Dora because she is a lady? But the same anambra once had a lady senator. Why don't you just admit you do not have a valid point. |
alexchiny: You are talking rubbish! Open the thread yourself and watch true Anambrarians tell the facts. Most people on Nairaland bashing Obi are not even from Anambra. I have listed the man's achievements to you but you still choose to blindly hate him. Go to Ayamelum LG,Njikoka LG,Ekwulobia LG, in fact most rural areas and witness huge developments going on there. Right about now, the man is even trying to concentrate on Onitsha with many inner road construction and tidying up of the bridge head. Take a tour around Anambra before coming here to embarrass yourself. Tell me which other SE state has attracted investors like Anambra State during Obi's tenure? Have we ever enjoyed stable polity like this under Mbadinuju and Ngige's reign? Right about now, Anambra State is almost debt free. Only idio.ts and sycophants would really rate this man low.Who defines the true Anambrarians? of course you. What would the criteria be?very simple: if you support obi( you are). if you don't (you are not). Honestly you are getting the charge of sycophancy and blind hatred back to front. |
Wily1Wily: APC is a Yoruba party, 99.999999% members are YorubasHow do you know? what election or poll are you basing this on. Are there no yoruba PDP members? Is mimiko APC? All this talk you know is all political gimmick. APC is has governors in every one of the six zones(including the south east) of Nigeria. |

Don't ever make the mistake of making this election issue or performance based. APGA's 8 year rule under Obi is the best thing to have ever happened to Anambra. Make no mistake about it. Peter Obi's rural followership is intimidating and those folks count greatly in elections. So let me throw you a simple chalenge. Open a thread and invite all people from anambra to debate the person of peter obi and his achievements in anambra state for the past eight years and see what the outcome will be. My observation is that most people do not like obi or think much of his achievements in the past years. What is driving APGA campaign for this election is more of tribal hatred than love for obi or his achievements. The major campaign thrust of APGA is to fraudulently present itself as the igbo people's party when in actual fact it is nothing but a pathetic appendage of the PDP. The second thrust of APGA campaign is to tar ngige and APC by stoking the ember of tribal hatred and prejudice. In the last election it was amala people ,now it is amala people plus boko haram people(as if there are no Yoruba and Hausa in PDP). of course after the election the same people will start talking of one Nigeria! again. You stated that i should separate obi's relationship with Jonathan from APGA relationship with PDP. but please show me one single instance where obi's APGA(supposedly one of the opposition parties) has ever criticized any of PDP policy. Obi and APGA are always in cahoot with PDP and Jonathan. There is no difference between six and a half dozen! |
Sincere 9gerian: In the last senatorial election, Ngige, a former governor, contested with a lady. So when a former governor of a state defeats a lady in an election, it shouldn't be a issue. Even if the lady was backed by the incumbent governor, it does not diminish the fact that she's a lady and some men would not buy the idea of being led by a lady.My guy you must be a male chauvinist! You call Dora Akinyuli a lady! Like that? Dora Akinyuli have achieved in her life time what thousands of men cannot achieve. she was already renowned across the country both as a successful DG of the NAFDAC and a competent federal Minister of information. she was the first of all the ministers with the courage to challenge the yaradua cabal. And you dismiss her as just a lady? She was dragged to APGA by obi to contest the anambra central senatorial district against his perennial nemesis chris ngige. obi is from the same local govt as umeh- which is one of the local govts that makes up the anambra central senatorial district). So ngige defeated obi and umeh and akinyuli(combined) in their territory. |
DerideGull: Who knows which deity Ngige is visiting in Yoruba land as we debate? A man of upright character would not have visited the Okija deity in the first instance talk less talking about it later. Why visit Yoruba land for deity. Are there no more deity in igbo land? Clever guy. i know you just added the Yoruba land for tribal effects! For god sake , this is an anambra election, and no matter how much you try, ngige is an igbo man. You cannot take that away from him because you want APGA to win an election. |
Wily1Wily: Ohh Another Ngiges achievement is allying himself with Yoruba APC that deported some Anambra Igbos from LagosPlease try to be more imaginative in the application of this tribal hatred strategy. You are making it too obvious and boring! |
alexchiny: Even without the deportation saga, Ngige would have still found it almost impossible to defeat an APGA candidate under APC in a Governoship elections. He has already been disgraced twice under normal circumstances not to talk of his utterances during the deportation saga! This is politics and not emotions! Ngige cannot govern Anambra under APC. simple.my brother, an opposition candidate scoring 60,000 votes against an incumbent who scored 97000 votes in an election where the imcumbent have the support of a great and illustrious son of ndigbo in the name of ojukwu(who rightly begged, with tears, that his people should do him a last honour by voting for obi) is not a disgrace. An opposition candidate who defeats chief ojukwu in one of the two local govts in nnewi is not a push over. An opposition candidate who won hands down in four local govts in the last governorship election has scored a moral victory. An opposition candidate who defeated the combined power of Obi / Umeh / Dora akinyuli in the last senatorial election(despite the vicious tribal hatred campaign) is a force to be reckoned with any day , any time. if is easy to play opposition politics, why has obi virtually turned APGA into a faction of PDP (whereby jonathan dictates who can and cannot be the candidate of APGA) let us be sincere, the only chance APGA has of defeating Ngige /APC is to fully exploit tribal sentiments against ngige and APC as seems to be the strategy or else APGA will be faced with ignominious defeat. Don't ever make the mistake of making this election issue or performance based. I know you are so confident because you are so sure that the tribal sentiment strategy will work. |
egift: @Everyone:For very obvious reasons. The other day, in a different thread, a guy asked for the achievements of the APGA candidate,by the time someone responded with the list of achievements i could not stop laughing! APGA and their candidate have nothing to offer in this coming election. that is why they want to explore tribalism to it fullest. |
Wily1Wily: So you are happy your brother Ngige is in the same party with Yoruba Benjamin AdekunleIs Ngige Yoruba as well. Look if it is a sin to associate with yorubas in any form, the candidate of APGA is also guilty. Not only has he stayed in soluyi Gbagada for a long time with many yoruba friends and associates, he also have a significant chieftancy title form ekiti state. peter obi's company, next international based in lagos, also have many Yoruba staffs. You guys are only promoting hatred for yoruba people because of the coming election. |
alexchiny: My brother, i think he knows what he is saying. You wouldn't understand until you come down here and sample opinions. APC is hated grievously by most Anambrarians and they cant wait to prove that come November 16.I am smart enough to understand the objective of this thread(and the many more that will come up before the nov election). I also understand the predicament of APGA/supporters with regards to the coming election. APGA strategy for this election is dangerous but obvious. i will explain. The battle has come down to Ngige /Otiano and APGA / APC there is nothing to sell to the people because APGA is virtually a faction of PDP and The APGA candidate is virtually unknown with is no known tangible achievement to associate him with. This is why you guys are deliberately not making any efforts to promote him or sell him to the people who do not know him for now. the only thing left(and this is the obvious strategy here) is to whip up primordial sentiments and stoke the ember of tribal hatred against the other candidate and other party. it is shameful but the strategy might work and it might not work( we won't know until nov 2013) |
Agbalanze: Our hate for buhari and tinubu supercedes our love for Ngige... So so unfortunate for ngige!!!When you say 'we', who are the 'we' you are referring to? anambra state has many registered voters that can vote in the coming election and unless they have all mandated you to speak on their behalf, then you are acting like a shameless impostor. Is like me coming here to assert that Yoruba will not vote for Jonathan in 2015. Come here and speak for yourself and nobody else. |
Marsh104: i wonder if u are really d one that typed this. When did court and inec starts to appoint candidates for political parties. I think the right thing is for them to wait for the party to present their candidate.inec must recognize a party executive(federal or state) for it to be valid. Only a recognized executive of a party can validly conduct a primary for an election to be conducted by inec. Only the candidate that emerges from a primary conducted by a valid executive can take part in an election conducted by INEC. it sounds like simple common sense to me. |
dontecrosofiso: you dont even know who is Bamanga Tukur thats why you are calling these small boys to deal with him.go and check the his history of Bamanga Tukur before coming to compare him with these small rats that cannot come close to his first son Awwal in terms of money and influence nonsense, because you just manage to hear his name when he is the PDP chairman that was why you are insulting him, that shows you will insult your own father.so,stop insulting my father. But the governor of sokoto state called bamanga tukur a political prostitute to his face and got away with it. Why was the suspension reversed? i guess discipline goes as far as Jonathan's 2015 ambition. |
Sincere 9gerian: Very good. There should be discipline in every political party.it initial story might be true. Jonathan's decisions are never final. Jonathan is notoriously fickle minded and indecisive. he is like a kite in the wind tossed to and fro by the advice of the moment. mark my words.before the anambra election proper, jonathan will be led to change mind as many times as there are advice from the many people tells him what to do. You spoke about discipline in every political party. But if PDP is sincere about discipline why was the suspension of the sokoto governor reversed? Why has no disciplinary action been taken against the five northern governors? Every talk of discipline in PDP is nothing but political gimmick! |
