stopit: Arrant nonsence.how can a group of bigots give codition that the only way peace can remain in the party is for the president not to recontest just imagine and there are doing this cos of their selfish ambition.Even the so called Ameachi have ambition of being the VP.
But why not wait let the primaries decides who is their presidential candidate.Inshort what is even the contribugtion of the North to Nigeria apart from their large numbers, let them try to work very well in their states first so that their deeds can speak for them.
Did he agree to this in 2011? Simple. If he did, it is natural that those privy to that agreement will ask him to honour what he knowingly agreed to.

if Zoning and power shift has always being part of the practice of PDP, then why are we condemning northerners for tryingt to enforce it when it was enforced for a southerner in 1999. I suppose they were not bigots then.

ofala: ONE vital question every well meaning Nigerian should start asking from NOW is : How does all these political scheming positively affect the common man in the street?
Just like I am asking how the president's ambition affects the common man on the street. Jonathan is playing politics to run again just as the northern governors are playing politics to ensure he abides by the zoning policy of their party. Both sides are playing politics for their selfish ambition.

telexfree1: ' Abysmal economic performance ' of the government
You just type up stuff without making any specific point. You are probably one of those who expects government to do everything for you. Put food on your table, pay your medical bills, pay your school fees, and give you monthly checks for being unemployed .
My friend, listen up. The government doesn't owe you anything asides from providing security and maintaining regulatory oversights over the formal and informal sector while working with state and local government to create opportunities for the citizenry to take advantage of in order to make progress in all directions.
And whether you like it or not, this country is headed in that direction. It's only a matter of time. As soon as the government has divested in all business enterprises and the power transformation has run its course, then government can focus on its core responsibilities . Some people here will yell blue murder if I told them that asides from maintaining oversight and creating opportunities for the students, government has no business running a university.
Dude , people are taking advantage of the free market reforms and are venturing out there taking risks and making it. I suggest you try your hand at something.
If you had criticized the government for not making police sector transformation a number one priority just like they did in the power sector, that would have counted for something. Because security is government's number one function.
I challenge to you to list one failed economic directive of this government and I will give two strategic 'on point' initiatives which are currently being implemented .
Anyway, it's pretty obvious from your past posts that you are a fanatical APC supporter , so by default you reason emotionally on any matter linking to PDP. I am saying I wouldn't be surprised if your next post is defensive and filled with faulty logic.
LOL. Guy do you live in this country? Thanks for your lecture on the role of government in a polity. But let me just focuson the so called transformation of the power sector for now.
After billions of dollars, what is power generation today? 2300 mega watts the same as about 10 years ago when the power reform program was initiated by the obj govt.
If you call that reform, then you must be a fanatical PDP / Jonathan supporter, so by default you reason emotionally on anym matter linking jonathan and PDP!
Any economic directive that is not yielding results for several years- and most of the so called economic policies of the jonathan administration are nothing but a pathetic rehash of obj 's 2003 to 2007 economic reform policies- is a failed economic directive. All we hear are highfallutin figures that we cannot feel the impact since 2003 when all this deceptionstarred.

Honestly I wish I could say your response is full of faulty logic . Unfortunately it is just defensive without logic!

taharqa: Clown, Dangote just mentioned d BACKWARD INTEGRATION policies, across d entire value chain, currently going on in the Sugar, Cassava, Palm Oil, Tomatoes, Cotton, Rice, Fertilizer, etc- areas that he and very many others are massively investing in? These things are just happening by themselves, right? That is yr story..
What? Jonathan drew up dangote's business plan for him? dangote was not planning backward integration until jonathan becameppresident?
Please if you do not have any valid point why don't you just not comment any more. Look I run a very small business, and I already have a business plan that covers my expansion plan for the next six years. I suppose jonathan is responsible for that as well!

Africa had more than #50bn FDI inflow last year, one of d only regions in d world where it increased; if that is 'an agonishingly low flow' then you hv to have yr head Checked, fast..
You are getting it twisted. His point is this thing has nothing to do with the Jonathan's government. They were simply implementations of business expansion plans made several years ago. Is'NT it funny? if you want to ascribe every good event during Jonathan 's tenure to him why do you want to excuse every bad thing from him?

To me it is pathetic and ridiculous that you want to give him credit for things he did not contribute directly to while you will excuse him from the several disasters he was responsible for!
PoliticsRe: Dangote Attributes Success To Jonathan’s ‘favourable’ Policies by softwareman(m): 9:32am On Sep 07, 2013
ballabriggs: What is the big deal about Nigeria's FDI inflows?

Firstly, Nigeria in the last year on a per capita basis got less FDI inflows than Ghana.

Secondly, Africa as a whole has an agonisingly low percentage of global FDI inflows. To make noise about biggest in Africa is to say you are the king of mediocrity.

Thirdly, these inflows in most of the economic literature on FDI and growth in Nigeria have a very insignificant impact on growth.

So please shut it.
Thanks bro. but we are probably wasteing our time with these jonathanians. They seems to inhabit there own land of fantasyw where they concoct all sort of achievements for a low performing government and president. The way they are going they will soon ascribe the growth of pentecoastal churches to Jonathan!

telexfree1: Yu obviously have no idea there was a global economic recession in 2008 which affected Nigeria as well. Look at you making comparisons to three years ago. Why don't you ask the average American the same question ? Most of the world's economies have not recovered from the massive job losses and credit crunch. Or you think Nigeria was completely insulated from global happenings ? An international businessman is talking and you sitting are here trying to post some high school business studies analysis.
Let me understand you. The abysmal economic performance of this government is due to the global economic recession of 2008? Are you kidding me? Are you this naive?
That international businessman would say the same thing to any president. He probably said same things to obj several times.
are you this naive?
By the way, why don't you offer your own kindergarten analysis if you if feel my stating economic facts and figures is high school business studies analysis.

Let us not be in a hurry and use our own hands and mouth to destroy things and regret later.
The past ? Are you saying the latest figures from MAN for 2012 is in the past? Specifically what economic policy is jonathan implementing differently from the one implemented under obj by the same ngozi nweala?
You Jonathan supporters should stop deceiving yourselves there is virtually no diffrence between the policies obj implemented between 2003 to 2007 and the same copycat economic policies of the Jonathan government.

It is a policy of promises and contrary results!

Not to forget two quiet wiz-kids at the power privatisation revolution called Atedo Peterside and Bekinbo Dagogo-Jack. You ain't seen nothing yet! Testimony galore!
Obj too assembled a so called first eleven team including the same ngozi nweala and many, many more. They said after payingo off the country's debt we should expect a great sustained economic growth of low inflation and interest rates andd high employment.
Now we have the foreign reserve squandered, higher inflation, higher interest rate, higher unemployment, worse state of infrastructure. On top they have piled up the debts again Even worse.!

Favoured him in what ways. I think that is what should be the focus of this discussion. What specific policy of the jonathan administration , diffrent from the previous administrations - is dangote refering to. ? A business man makes a simple flattering statement and desperate supporters of a government with failed economic policies are latching on to it..

There is a reason Nigeria has for d last consecutive 2 years attracted, for d 1st time and by a significantly margin, d LARGEST FDI in Africa; there is a reason why most industries in Nigeria are undertaken some of their largest expansions yet within same period. What does that Mind of yrs think is/are the reason(s) for it??
Complete hogwash. Dangote started expansion into manufacturing several years ago it is a big lie to attribute any significant FDI directly to the Jonathan administration policy. Most of industries expanding currently has their expansionpexpansion programs in place for years and the policy of the Jonathan administration has nothing to do with it. What Jonathan apologist are now doing is to attribute every economic progress in the private sector-most of which would have taken place AGIP- to jonathan.

This to me is desperation . A government is usually assessed by the capacity to provide enabling environment for small and medium size companies to thrive. This is usually achieved through the right micro and macro economic policies.
When you consider the state of infrastructures, in flation , interest rates, cost of doing business, were we better off or worse than we were three years ago.? This clinging to imaginary achievements that has not impacted on any one life has beent the usual swan song of the last 14 years of PDP misrule.

That is nigeria for you. People break the law and still play the victim, before you know it nobody will be discussing the'real causative reasons again as the discussion would have turned religious or ethnic.

ckkris: President Jonathan is steadily leading Nigeria and Nigerians out of difficulties left by the misrule of previous administrations. Railroads are being restored. Electricity is being privatised and supply is improving. Fuel supply is stable. The military is improving and hitting Boko Haram so hard that their sponsors are now afraid, the USA is acknowledging. Foreign Direct Investment is increasing and creating jobs. Dangote alone has signed $3.3 billion. Jona will definitely win in 2015.
When you say previous administrations, were those previous administrations APC or ACN or ANPP govts? It is laughable but this mindless attempt to exonerate jonathan from the past 14 years of PDP misrule is nothing but hogwash.

In terms of achievements, you mentioned electricity, the power refor,ms started around 2002. Part of the achievements listed by the obasanjo's govt in 2003 was the attainmemt of 4000 mega watts of electricity generation . more than ten years down the line, and billions of dollars the drain, the total megawatts generated as at today is around 2300 mega watts. And you Jonathan apologist will still count this as achieve, ment? shouldn't there be a limit to all this naked lies?

Jonathan cannot manage himself, his wife, and his party and you think he can steadily manage the country out of difficulty? You must be an incurable optimist!

Did he call their bluff? even anenih in a statement released today confirm that the peace meeting was at the instance of the president. Secondly, the fact that Jonathan's official attack dogs- abati &okupe- are currently on a leech should tell you that Jonathan is grovelling from pillar to post.

As for tukur, bet on it, Jonathan will sacrifice him on the altar of his desperation for 2015. I have taken my time to study this president. I have come to a very painful conclusion: this man has no abiding principles, no vision, no courage or gauntlet to fight . All he does is dilly dally to and fro like someone wishing a problem goes away.

My prayer is for Jonathan to disappoint me for once and at least do something: fight or submit. But at least be decisive!

When I registered another handle to complained I was slammed with a ban till 2021! Then I tried to be civil with this handle, still no cogent reason for why I was banned and the other guy remained till after I complained and posted screen-grabs for evidence.
I honestly think the best way to make mods accountable for their actions is make the ban list accessible to members. This list will include names of members on ban, duration, reason for ban, and offending post plus mod that effected the ban.

This will go a long in exposing power drunk , vindictive mods. It will also exonerate mods from accusations of unfair treatment.
For example, someone once complained about a month ban by AOMJ . At that time , I thought of was UN usual, but when ilugunboy returned from a 30 days ban yesterday I realised that the other guy was not being targeted unfairly.

Seun needs to look into this because the typical nigerian will abuse power if not held accountable.

PoliticsRe: 57 PDP Reps Declare Support For Atiku’s Faction by softwareman(m): 10:20am On Sep 04, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: The opposition has always been in control of the house of reps since Tambuwai defeated the PDP candidate in 2011. So NOTHING has changed.

It can only make a difference if they'll attempt to impeach the president BUT they CANNOT. The NASS cannot attempt any impeachment process. The worst they can do is the usual noise making and delay passage of important bills. All these charade is just for noise, noise and more noise. The renegade PDP members are all over the courts seeking for one relief or the other. Its noise, noise and more noise.

GEJ has full control of PDP structures and would win the primary election any day, any time. That is what matter. The president has enough time to erect new structures in those few states for the purpose of securing atleast 25% of votes cast in 2015 elections.

Meanwhile, all the names on that list are house of reps members loyal to one or more godfathers who LOST OUT in the PDP power play. Its either they'r loyal to Atiku (who lost out in the entire PDP power struggle, first in 2007 and again in 2011), OBJ (lost his position as BOT chair, his loyalists in the PDP leadership were sent packing), Oyinlola (an OBJ man who lost his position as national secretary of PDP), the seven governors (lost out in the struggle for PDP presidential primary ticket) and IBB ( lost out in the PDP since the days of OBJ). Some of the legislators lost out with their home state governors (who are not members of the G-7).

So in essence, these are collection or gathering of LOSERS. To make matters worse, some of these LOSERS have fought each other at one point or the other in the past. For instance, the current governor of Adamawa state and Atiku have fought and badly injured each othe since the days of OBJ and even as recently as in 2011. These LOSERS maybe united in wanting the down fall of GEJ, but they cannot even work together for more than a few weeks.

While it is imperative that the president and other party leaders should try to resolve RESOLVABLE differences, since no political party would be happy to lose any member, the president cannot lose sleep over the shenanigans of some LOSERS. Unresolvable differences will be settled at the general elections, where the Nigerian people would have the final say.

The president was present all through yesterday at an event organised by Nigeria Economic Summit Group and did not appear to be losing sleep over the antics of these LOSERS. With the PDP primary ticket already in the bag, all the president has to worry about is the general elections and how to continue to deliver the dividends of democracy to the Nigerian people, who careless about the antics or tricks of some loser politicians.

The ongoing fight amongst Nigerian politicians is at cross purpose with the desires of the Nigerian people. What Nigerians/the man on the streets care about are reforms that'll make their life better. They'r eagerly awaiting conclusion of the power sector privatisation, more progress in the rail transport system, construction or repair of more roads, resolution of ASUU strike, completion of the ongoing standard guage rail lines, fast tracking of work on Abuja light rail, more dividends from the agric reforms, more job opportunities through more initiatives like YOUWIN,etc, etc.

Meanwhile, it is difficult not to note that over 95% of those lawmakers are from the north. The born to rule mentality. From 2011 till middle of this year when State of emergency was declared and Shekau killed, the president was distracted with Boko Haram. Now that Boko Haram appear to be going down, they'v resorted to other dirty antics. Well, the end will justify the means and POSTERITY will judge everyone of us.
Shaking my head. The usual delusional tendency of jonathan apologist to underestimate and dismiss adversaries. Right from the beginning of your senseless drivel I knew where you are going.
Is Jonathan desperation for 2015 for the Nigerian people or for his own selfish purpose?

You keep rehashing the same press hand outs from labaran maku on imaginary achievements of the Jonathan administration as if Nigerian do live in this country.
