Politics / Fear Grips Governor Obiano's Camp, As APGA Hemorrhages by sojiboy(m): 2:27pm On Oct 17, 2017
Fear Grips Governor Obiano's Camp, as APGA Hemorrhages

Information reaching our desk reveals that there is palpable tension in governor Obiano's camp following the Exodus of APGA party faithfuls in many local governments and communities - No thanks to the massive failure of the Obiano administration in the last three and half years.

APGA party members especially from Anambra North extraction have bemoaned the herculean task of prosecuting a second term bid for Chief Willie Obiano. Convincing a people that are yet to identify what Obiano's administration has done for their individual communities is a hard but to crack, especially where there is nothing to show.

These APGA party members stated that the N20million community choose your project initiative of the Governor no longer convinces the citizens who are desperately asking to know what the over 300billion naira local government funds are been used for.

The worst of it all is that the dying minute bazaar of SSA appointment to estranged fellows who have no followership and abandoning the real grassroot members, have totally demoralised the party's grassroot structure, as majority of the people are seriously lamenting that their efforts in bringing Obiano into government in 2013 was totally an effort in futility.

Upon interactions, we gathered that these party members are now at home with the reality that Dr. Tony Nwoye is fully on ground in the state, that Ayaka Nsugbe, as he is fondly called, is directly in contact with the real political actors in the state across party lines - this has been the bedrock of his political strength and success.

They have, however, concluded that the pendulum is outrightly swinging in favour of Dr. Tony Nwoye and the APC.

His followers and lovers are religiously staying the course of making him (Tony Nwoye) the next governor of the state, while the elements currently championing governor Willie's campaign are out for personal gains without any established contact with the real grassroot who do not seem interested in the Obiano charade anymore.

The fact worthy of note is that the original APGA party members are fast deserting the party for different political parties because they believe that Akpokue is not showing seriousness to return to government, else, he wouldn't have allowed Chief Victor Umeh the free will to use his second term campaign as an avenue to negotiate for his senatorial ambition.

Ndi Anambra, you have hard and read by your self, it is left for you to investigate in other to confirm that ndi APGA are no longer with governor Obiano. The only people remaining in APGA are just bunch of Willie's numerous SA's and SSA's.

Politics / Kayode Fayemi Leads Nigerian Delegation To Australia, September 6 by sojiboy(m): 7:27pm On Sep 04, 2017
The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi, is leading the Nigerian delegation to the Africa Down Under Conference, holding in Perth, Australia, between September 6th to 8th, 2017.

Widely regarded as a conference that attracts significant interest from organisations prospecting for business opportunities in the mining sector in Africa, the Nigerian delegation includes critical stakeholders, notably, officials of some state governments in charge of minerals and mining; financial experts, investors and operators.

The Minister will also deliver a paper “Mining for Shared Prosperity: Why Nigeria, Why Now” on the opening day of the conference which is renowned as one of the leading fora for facilitating discussions on how to grow investments and participation in the African Mining space.

Nigeria was a major focus at the conference last year following the discovery, by an Australian firm, of a huge deposit of Nickel in Kaduna State. The Minister is expected to provide an update on the mineral among other issues, during the conference.

According to a statement by the Ministry, Nigeria’s participation at this year’s conference is expected to serve the following strategic objectives: “Signal to the international mining community, the country’s economic policy priorities which focus on the diversification of Nigeria’s revenue base by repositioning the mining sector for greater productivity.

“Showcase to potential investors, investment opportunities in the mining sector in Nigeria, existing incentives and on going reforms.

“Take advantage of the attendance of key decision makers and influencers in the industry from all over the world to engage in high-level Economic Diplomacy, to address the misconceptions about Nigeria’s mining industry and business environment in general, that accounts for her low ranking on the global mining policy perception and ease-of-doing-business indices.

“Network with other government delegates (especially of African countries) and representatives of multilateral organizations, to explore potential areas of cooperation and to ensure Nigeria takes a lead and visible role in advancing the objectives of the African Mining Vision (AVM).

“Ensure robust tracking of the competitive activities of other mining countries towards identifying ways through which Nigeria can improve the marketability and competitiveness of our mining industry.

“Use the opportunity to learn best industry practices around the globe as well as new and improved technology or techniques adopted for mining operations and geological data gathering in other mining jurisdictions.”

Politics / Tony Nwoye :an Examination On The #nottooyoungtorun Bill. by sojiboy(m): 2:54pm On Sep 02, 2017
ANAMBRA GUBERNATORIAL: TONY NWOYE; AN EXAMINATION ON THE #NOTTOOYOUNGTORUN BILL.
By ENIOLA OPEYEMI

The Emergence of Hon. Tony NWOYE as a flag bearer of the All progressive Party (APC) may have gotten many think partisan as regards the former President of National association of Nigerian Students (NANS) ambition, but on the other hand, he represents a larger percentage of youths whose plight is to get best brains at the youthful age to take up the responsibilities of leadership in the country's politics. At 42, Nwoye's stride may not just be a run of the mill individual but he has not relent in giving his best in quest to serve , thus, like the saying goes, he paid his price.

Going through his profile, Tony Okechukwu Nwoye is a Nigerian politician, a medical doctor, member of the Federal House of Representatives representing the people of Anambra East/West constituency of ANAMBRA state, he was born September 13, 1974, he started his political career as medical student where he functioned in different capacity as a leader. He was noted to having fought for student unionism, later became the first medical student to become the speaker of the student union house of representative in the university of Nigeria. He received an award from the then Vice Chancellor, Prof Ginigeme Mbanefo, for the role he played in fighting cultism in the school. He became the national president of National association of Nigeria Students in December 2003 , He arose to state power as Assistant Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Anambra State PDP in 2005 and by 2006 at the age of 31, he became the Chairman of the State Executive Committee of the Anambra State PDP making him the youngest State Chairman of a major political party in the entire nation. In 2014 he unsuccessfully contested for Anambra state election under PDP. NWOYE after few years of decamping to the All Progressive Party (APC), the die hard ambitious young politician secured the gubernatorial ticket the ruling party, APC in 2017.

The #notTooYoungToRun bill as widely celebrated for its tendency to bring an end to the neo-imperialism by some of our old hands, but on the other way round it may just be a continuous slavery or transfer of leadership baton from the old leaders to their children, considering the power play, financial strength and their influential prowess which as grown over the decade. This may not be new, we have quite many of leaders who has ruled us and their children are now in charge of leadership, nothing wrong at that if everyone is given a level playing ground. The legitimacy of the bill is having committed youths that shuns all manner of interjectory tools such as bribery, promises of employment chances and other ridiculous bargain to make the few minority rule over the masses, like a text on Neo-Colonialism, the Last Stage of Imperialism by Kwame Nkrumah, paragraphs of the text quotes, "Where neo-colonialism exists the power exercising control is often the State which formerly ruled the territory in question, but this is not necessarily so. For example, in the case of South Vietnam the former imperial power was France, but neo-colonial control of the State has now gone to the United States. It is possible that neo-colonial control may be exercised by a consortium of financial interests which are not specifically identifiable with any particular State. The control of the Congo by great international financial concerns is a case in point."

"The result of neo-colonialism is that foreign capital is used for the exploitation rather than for the development of the less developed parts of the world. Investment under neo-colonialism increases rather than decreases the gap between the rich and the poor countries of the world."

"The struggle against neo-colonialism is not aimed at excluding the capital of the developed world from operating in less developed countries. It is aimed at preventing the financial power of the developed countries being used in such a way as to impoverish the less developed."

A long drive from the history, we still dance to modern slavery in the hands of our own political leaders who are tools in the hands of the existing white colonials whose aims are not far from getting the foreign back up against their own citizens, the young committed citizens can change the rhythm of the long existing mode of governance, wedging war against the old wine in new bottle sort of leaders through the ballots. NWOYE's ambition is a pointer like many few others, not too many weeks from here, the world celebrated a young man taking up the leadership of France, Nigeria's turn is not too far from here, only if we can get it right, now!

Nigeria's legend, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe in his comment in taking up the leadership challenge said, "There are plenty rooms at the top, because very few people care to travel beyond the average route, and most of us seem satisfied to remain within the confines of mediocrity". Out of the very committed few, Comrade Dr. Tony NWOYE is a test to see if the youths are ready to take up the mantle of leadership, an examination on the #notTOOyoungRUN bill.

I advocate for Tony NWOYE as the next Governor of ANAMBRA state.

Re- Ado youths warn APC over disparaging comments against Ewi

My attention has been drawn to a press statement by a faceless group headed by a "Beast of no nation" (Egbekegbe according to Fela), with an intent to malign my person and also attempt to drag me against the royal stool of not just HRM Oba Adejugbe but also against the entire Royalties and deities of Yoruba land.
It is obvious that the purported request of apology to Fayose was the handwriting of the mischievous media aide of the Tormentor in chief of Ekiti land and Chief "Apagun" of Ado-Ekiti, who craves for attention and respect at all costs, which of course he does not deserve, as his record of numerous disrespectful acts to not just President of our great nation but also to elders and top traditional rulers in Ekiti State, including the late Elekole of Ikole-Ekiti, Oba Adetula Adeleye; the late Attah of Aiyede and Onijan, among several other Yoruba leaders and across the nation, is legendary.
It's on record that I Adesoji Gabriel (AngelGabby) has been a very socio-economic and policital conscious person who uses my Facebook, Twitter, IG, Nairaland, Naija loaded etc to disseminate information of ANY KIND WITH source(s)/Reference(s) as the case maybe indicated in all my posts.
My style in my posts is to indicate whether I am the writer or whether the story is copied from other sources at the beginning or the end of my posts.
The said article is among the many posts which I have posted with its sources boldly stated and by God's grace this won't be the last.
I find it unbelievable that the said youth group that is supposed to be enlightened to deduce what is right could reduce itself to errand group used by rejected government leaders to attain cheap political points against my humble image.
While I congratulate the Ewi of Ado, His Royal Majesty Oba Adejugbe, on the success of the Udiroko which has also re-united the sons and daughters of the prestigious town of Ado Ekiti, I implore our Kabiyesi to subject those who will be honored with chieftancy titles to tight scrutiny.
Fayose is the least of those who deserve to be honored by any one. It is on record that this Fayose that is now the Apagun of Ado Ekiti was the chief tormentor to Obas in Ekiti State during his first term and up till this moment he is still, as he is yet to pay the Kings (Kabiyesis in Ekiti State) their salaries and other entitlements for several months. Apart from these, the said Apagun is always quick to attack/persecute the Kings he perceives to have any relationship with the opposition in the state or beyond.
In my opinion, Fayose doesn't deserve any title from our reverred King, but be that as it may, I plead that our respected Kabiyesi should withdraw this title from Fayose to humble him in order to honour his electoral promises, pay the silent but hungry workers of the state, employ youths, including the jobless youths that are accusing me of wrongdoing against our respected monarch.
I urge this faceless group to desist from using my name as a means of feeding fat on Fayose and our state economy, as their rants will not move me from saying that which is right.
But again, I wish to state unequivocally that I have not and will not insult not just the Ewi but all other Royal fathers of our land, as a cultured yoruba man, trained and tutored with the ideals of Omoluabi.
Mischief-makers are advised to find something productive to do to take care of themselves instead of maligning innocent people.

Investment / Only One Company Is Authorized To Mine, In Zurak – Minister by sojiboy(m): 10:16am On Aug 21, 2017
The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi has said that only one company has mining lease to carry out mining activity in Zurak, Wase Local Government of Plateau State.
The Minister stated this during a meeting with leaders of the community shortly after 16 Chinese and 8 Nigerians were arrested for illegal mining in the area and the shutting down of two companies notorious for illegal mining.
The Minister who reiterated government’s commitment to discouraging the activities of illegal miners and its environmental degradation, urged the community and its leadership not to collaborate with unauthorised persons or groups carrying out illegal mining in their domain.
The Minister said; “The minority in your community are colluding with these criminal gangs that have taken over your land, enough is enough.
“In our record, and by the special grace of God and the authority of Mr. President, it is my duty to sign all mining licenses in Nigeria, no one else has that authority and I can tell you as I stand here that only one company has a mining lease in the whole of these area.
“That company is called Tongay, there is no other company, whether it is called solid unit, or it’s called geotess or it’s called anything”, the Minister added.
The Minister’s position was contrary to claims by one of the companies shut in the wake of the visit by the Minister and the National Security Adviser, Brig. Gen Babagana Munguno to Zurak that it had a valid license.
Dr Fayemi insisted that his office never authorised Dan China’s company to carry out mining activities in the area.

Investment / Investing In Quarry Mining Plant. by sojiboy(m): 1:31pm On Jul 31, 2017
The announcement by the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, at the recently held Nigeria Mining Summit in Abuja, that the federal Government is working towards new mining sector fund of $600 million to be raised via Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA), Nigeria Stock Exchange (NSE) and other investors, may have opened a new vista of opportunities for those that intend to venture into the business, especially quarry/granite.

The federal Government through the Dr. Kayode Fayemi-led Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, however, is yet to come up with modalities on how it intends to disburse the funds, the qualification requirements and the general framework for the fund.

But having unveiled its plan to float the fund, the time is now for would be investors to begin preparation towards tapping into this novel idea that may eventually turn the fortunes around for the country’s mining sector while creating massive employment for the sector.

It is equally on record that the activities in the mining sector, if well harnessed, are capable of generating over 500, 000 jobs but funding remained a major stumbling block to the realization of the full potential in that sector.

But hope seems to be at the end of the tunnel as the Federal Government has equally announced fresh plans to grant the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development access to ₦30 billion under the mining sector component of the Natural Resource Development Fund (NRDF).

On the other hand, it stated that another $150 million has been raised globally from the world bank for mining diversification. With all these funds, the stage is now set for serious entrepreneurs to come up with a bust business plans, which may eventually give them access to these funds.

Identifying Granite

As at the last count, the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development has discovered about 33 commercially available industrial minerals in Nigeria and granite is one of such industrial minerals. According to Foraminifera , a market research outfit, the granite deposit in Nigeria is estimated to be in billions of metric tonnes. The earth crust is filled with different types of rock, ranging from igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks. Granite is an igneous rock formed from the cooling of magma in an exothermic process.

Granite, popularly known as chippings/gravel, is a very hard stone good for building and construction works globally. It is a common and widely occurring type of intrusive felsic, igneous rock. It has a medium to coarse texture occasionally with some individual crystals larger than the groundmass forming a rock known as porphyry. It can be pink to dark grey or even black depending on their chemistry and minerology.

Granite is a hard, usually grey, stone used for building and the most common rock type on the continental land masses. It is widely distributed throughout the continent crust of the earth and is the most abundant basement rock that underlies the relatively thin sedimentary veneer of the continents.

Locating Granite

Nigeria is richly endowed with granite stone and other related solid minerals like marble, dolomite and basalt. It is found in Enugu, Ebonyi, Kogi, Plateau, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Nasarawa and Ekiti States. Hence, granite is among the most available and affordable building materials. Nigeria being a country located in the tropics has these rocks in commercial quantity and it is a means of livelihood for many in some parts of the country.

In the past, it was mined manually, but now there are sophisticated equipment that make quarrying very easy. Lagos is not an igneous environment where granite can be found. All the real estate developers, contractors and civil engineering and construction companies get their granites form nearby towns. Its hard nature made it a very suitable and durable material for most civil engineering and construction works.

The Market

In 2004, the total production was about 15million tonnes whereas the demand was 16.2 million tonnes leaving a supply gap of 1.2 million tonnes. The market is vast even to the international level. That is, the product could be sold locally or exported out of the country with over 200 percent return on investment. Granite business is one that can be done with people of all classes.

The business could be done in large scale and small scale as the investor’s financial strength is. As stated earlier, Lagos is one of the fastest developing cities in Nigeria with lots of building and construction works done daily but Lagos does not have granite so all the ones consumed in Lagos come from the nearby towns. The market is stratified into three, including large scale, small, medium and small scale.

Floating a quarry

An investor would require millions of naira to start and operate a quary. The actual cost would be based on the scale the investor wants to start the business. The cost of the machinery required for the crushing of the granite make up between 60 and 70 per cent of the cost of establishing the business and is based on three factors, which are the input of granite, the output of the granite and the capacity of the machine required.
The investor would need to acquire/lease a rocky land for a period of one-five years and site a quarry for the manufacture of granite for sale to developers or to be used as raw material for the production of flooring tiles, marbles and antiquities.
After leasing the rocky land, the investor will then have to purchase heavy quarrying equipment including the crusher, excavator, pay loader, waybridge, dumper, carriage trucks (10-40 tonnes capacity).
It is, however, advisable to import the equipment from USA, Europe or China as the locally made ones are of very low quality, thus not reliable. The investor can choose to lease a complete quarry that has been poorly managed with all the equipment intact.
After this is done, the next thing is technical expertise. The technical know-how aspect is very important because this is the key to success in this business. You either engage the services of Chinese or a Nigerian.

Further to this, after fixing the technical and mechanical need of the business, another thing is effective and efficient management of men, machines and materials to achieve result (profit making). Thus, there is need for a business and or management expert that can make things happen.
Would-be investors should note that no matter how good their production, machines and appliances are, workers without good marketing skill, structure and strategy will cause the business to fail.

Medium Scale Operation

As a medium scale investor, the investor buys from the quarry owners and sells to the final users who may be real estate developers, contractors, civil engineers and resellers. A good supplier could be lucky to buy on credit from the quarry owners or agents and pay back after he/she has supplied and collected money. This could be achieved through good business relationship and integrity.

Small scale operation.

This does not require any capital to begin; all you need is the ability to market the product by moving around major cities like Lagos and informing developers, contractors that one can supply them granite for their building and construction work.
And immediately the marketer secures a deal to supply, they contact a registered supplier who will provide the goods and they get their commission. The commission is usually based on negotiations with the buyer and the supplier.

This is huge carelessness and disgrace to Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (Serap), a supposed non governmental organsation who is said to be DEDICATED to promoting TRANSPARENCY and ACCOUNTABILITY in the use of Nigeria’s natural resources, BUT FAILED TO carry out their findings before attaching emotions to what common sense should have done, not even on a sensitive issues like double pay against Ngige and Fayemi. i hope they tow path of honour by quickly making their findings about these duo public or tender unreserved apology for their monumental stupidity in the name of mistake.
one would expect these caricaturists to be prudent, how do they convince the general public they are not paid organizations to blackmail opposition of their paymasters.
time has come all these organizations should not be taken serious, especialy those who re more emotional than being common sensical.
Politics / Re: N40bn Pension: Fayemi Blows Hot, Vows To Sue SERAP by sojiboy(m): 9:32am On Jul 19, 2017
The Minister Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and his counterpart in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, have denied ever receiving double payments and retirement benefits as former governors in addition to other roles in public office.

A civil society organisation, Social-Economic Rights Accountability Project (SERAP) had recently petition the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, alleging some former governor who currently in the National Assembly and executive arm of government were currently receiving double salaries.

But Fayemi challenged SERAP to make public details or proof of pension and any other remuneration he was alleged to be enjoying from the Ekiti State government since leaving office as governor of the state in 2014, or publicly apologise to him for including his name in the list of serving public officers who are earning pensions.
The minister said the group should be prepared for legal consequences of the defamatory statement should it fail to retract the allegation or show concrete evidence of the alleged pension payment.

Fayemi, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr Yinka Oyebode, in Abuja yesterday said he had not received a kobo either as pension (as passed by the State House of Assembly) or as severance package (approved by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission) from the state government since leaving office on October 15, 2014.

The minister said while he subscribes to public scrutiny of public officials, such an endeavour should be done with due diligence in order to avoid making wild allegations that are capable of misleading the public.
“Contrary to SERAP’s statement, the fact is that Fayemi does not enjoy any pension from Ekiti State government neither has he received any severance package as approved by RMFAC.

“All SERAP needed to have done in this case was to place a call to the Minister or carry out a thorough investigation at the Ekiti State Ministry of Finance, before going public on such a sensitive matter.
“The leadership of SERAP is urged to do the needful- substantiate the allegation with proof or retract the highly embarrassing statement and offer a public apology to the minister within seven days or be prepared to defend it in the law court,” the statement added.
On his part, Ngige in a statement said he SERAP did not carry out its investigation before the inclusion of name in the allegation.

He stated: “I therefore wish to state again that I am fully aware of the relevant sections of the law, public morality and the prevailing ethos of honest and transparent leadership, which the federal government and our great party led by Muhammadu Buhari have been working assiduously to enthrone. It is hence imperative for me to further explain my own circumstance as I neither draw from nor have at any time drawn double emoluments from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the federation or Anambra State, having been elected or appointed into public service positions at different times.
“I wish to put on record that since I left office in 2006 as governor of Anambra State; through the four years I spent in the 7th Senate (June 2011-2015) and currently as the Minister of Labour and Employment with effect from November 11, 2015, I have never drawn a dime even in the intervening period that I was not in public office, as salary, emolument and pension from the Anambra State government coffers.

“In fact, I have not received any severance benefit as prescribed in the Anambra State House of Assembly law on pensions and other welfare and benefits for former governors and deputy governors, 2006, and amended 2013. Aside the two utility vehicles given to me some years ago, I have not accessed any of the privileges and other lawful trappings due to the office.”

It is worth stating for avoidance of any doubt, Ngige said, that the Supreme Court affirmed that I was entitled to these benefits in their landmark judgment in Mike Balonwu and others Vs Anambra State Government, which declared me governor, defacto and dejure between 2003-2006.
He said this explanation has become more necessary because of the calls and enquiries he has been receiving from so many quarters especially his friends and even from current constituency, the labour.
According to the minister, “the ultimate aim of public office is service to the people and putting the public conscience in mind is the only way to achieve it. This I will continue to pursue.”

Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has asked the Social-Economic Rights Accountability Project (SERAP) to make public details or proof of pension and any other remuneration he was alleged to be enjoying from Ekiti State Government since leaving office as governor of the South-West state in 2014, or publicly apologise to him for including his name in the list of serving public officers who are earning pensions.

Investment / No Agreement On NIOMCO Revoked-fg by sojiboy(m): 9:49am On Jul 17, 2017
The Federal Government has disclosed that no agreement on concessioning of the National Iron Ore Mining Company, NIOMCO, to Global Steel Holdings Limited, has been revoked as claimed by some persons.

This was stated by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, Abbas Mohammed, who represented the Minister, Dr Kayode Fayemi, at the ECOWAS Federation of Chambers of Mines, EFEDCOM, General Assembly Meeting in Abuja.

Mohammed said there was no truth about the alleged revocation of the modified agreement signed by the Acting President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, with the management of Global Steel Holdings Limited in 2015.

According to him, the deal was also for the eventual release of Ajaokuta Steel Company to the Federal Government by Global Steel Holdings Limited, and will be repackaged for concessioning.

Recently, there were claims by some people that the modified agreement between the Federal Government and the Global Steel had been revoked.

He said: “The Acting President, at that time he signed in 2015, signed the modified concessioning agreement with Global Steel Holdings Limited, there was part of a settlement package for the eventual release of Ajaokuta Steel back to the Nigerian government so that the government can repackage Ajaokuta for further concessioning to people who are financially and technically capable of taking Ajaokuta to where we expect it.

“The modified concession agreement is still valid. No agreement has been revoked. The modified concession agreement the Vice President signed with GNIL on Ajaokuta and NIOMCO is still valid, and we are working to implement that terms of that agreement.

“And part of that agreement is to re-concession NIOMCO to GNIL, while GNIL will release Ajaokuta to the Federal Government of Nigeria, and the Federal Government, at that point in time, will appropriate Ajaokuta as it deems fit.”

He also urged Nigerians and investors not to take serious some people who claimed not to be carried along when the agreement was reached, but are now out to dent the image of the government.

Politics / Fayose Wants To Kill Me- EKHA Minority Leader Hon Olugboyega Aribisogan by sojiboy(m): 3:05pm On Jul 11, 2017
BEING THE TEXT OF ADDRESS OF THE MINORITY LEADER OF EKITI STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY, HON (CHIEF) GBOYEGA ARIBISOGAN AT WORLD PRESS CONFERENCE ON JULY 11, 2017 AT THE APC SECRETARIAT, IN ADO EKITI .

Gentlemen of the Press,
I welcome you all to this briefing. Let me use this opportunity to thank you for your immeasurable support for our great party, the All Progressive Party (APC). I also thank you for standing by us always.
I also want to personally thank you for your support for me since the beginning of my odeals in the hands of Governor Fayose and the leadership of Ekiti State House of Assembly.
You will recall that I have been having a running battle with the leadership of Ekiti State House of Assembly since October 7, 2016 over the illegal 180 sitting days suspension handed down on me and Ikole constituency 1.
You are also aware of my official resumption on June 8, 2017 after nine months of denying my constituency the needed representation in Assembly. You will also recall that I said the House leadership led by Rt Hon. Kola Oluwawole had continued to violate the Standing order of the House which says no member of the House can be suspended beyond 14 legislative days.
Gentlemen of the press, you are aware of my defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on account of the division and factionalisation of the PDP to the All Progressive Congress on June 27,2017. Since I left the PDP, Governor Ayo Fayose in connivance with Rt Hon, Kola Oluwawole have been plotting to kill me and deny my constituency permanently from being represented in state Assembly. As I address you, the Governor has drafted his killer squad led by one Tajudeen Olagunju a.k.a Alhaji to the Assembly Complex. These hoodlums with guns and dangerous weapons, have been detailed by the governor and Pastor Oluwawole to attack me and my constituents anytime we move near the Assembly complex.
Part of the plot of the governor to silence me was the setting up of a Committee headed by Hon Dele Fajemilehin representing Gbonyin local government to lure me to the Governor's office under the pretence of inviting me to a committee meeting, so that Tajudeen Olagunju can easily attack me and escape to Governor's residence in Magodo GRA, Lagos.
When they discovered that the plot had leaked, the Speaker quickly dissolved the Committee and planned to set up another one that will be used to carry out the dastardly act.
Gentlemen of the Press, the Ekiti state House of Assembly is in dire straits. The legislative arm had been taken over by the Executive Governor, Ayo Fayose, and its powers and rights are being constantly usurp by the governor.
Since his public declaration before the MACE on December 6, 2016 when he said "I AM THE SPEAKER, OLUWAWOLE IS ONLY ACTING ON MY BEHALF" while presenting the budget, the governor had unconstitutional taken over, the funding and management of the House, including the sittings of the House and had been under the supervision and direction of the Governor contrary to section 183 of the1999 Constitution of Nigeria( as amended) which states that the governor can not hold any other executive position during the period of his tenure.
Rt Hon. Kola Oluwawole having agreed with governor Fayose by joining the remaining 24 members to say YES before the MACE, the authority of the House,he had voluntarily relinquished his position to the governor and therefore cannot continue to function as the Acting Speaker , a position that is reserved for the Deputy Speaker in the case of the Speaker's absence
Therefore, Rt Hon. Kola Oluwawole must resign as the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly immediately, because his continued stay in that position is a violation of the Standing Order of Ekiti State House of Assembly which states that there shall be no two Speakers in a State.
Governor Ayo Fayose is presently holding two Executive positions. First, as the Executive Governor and two, as the Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly contrary to Section 183 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which states that the Governor can not hold two positions during his tenure.
These constitutional infractions and violations of standing rules should not be allowed to continue in a democracy. Governor Fayose must also come the hallowed chamber within the next 14 days to publicly relinquish the position of the Speaker or he should resign as Governor of Ekiti state.
Gentlemen of the press, as part of his unconstitutional behaviour he has just directed six out of his former Commissioners to resume duties without a recourse to the State House of Assembly. The dissolution of the cabinet has made it imperative for the re-appointed Commissioners to appear before the House for another screening before they can be sworn -in to office.
Governor Fayose in his usual characteristics, has usurped the power of the Assembly by directing the newly appointed Commissioners to resume duties in utter violation of the constitution which states that nominees can only be confirmed by the state House of Assembly.
I therefore advise the governor to send the names of the newly appointed Commissioner designate to Ekiti state House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
Thanks for your patience.

Yours faithfully,
Hon. Gboyega Aribisogan
Minority Leader
EKHA, Ikole Constituency 1

APC will support whatever steps the minority leader takes ~ Hon Olatunbosun Taiwo Franklin

Meanwhile, the state publicity secretary of the APC in his remarks says the party will do everything within the Armbit of the law to stop the governor because he does not have power to continue the illegality.
