I think the 3rd party shipping company are really overrated. To be sincere I have been using DHL since I start this business but I made the mistake of my life by using the services of St. Patrick Logistics.

My supplier had delivered my goods (100 wristwatches with watch boxes) with a total weight of 22kg to St. Patrick Logistics office in China since November 27th, 2014.

The products are for Xmas sales but could you believe that the product are yet to be delivered.

I have contact Patrick, chat Wang and called Favour several times yet no result.

Wang claimed by goods had been sent, Favour claimed my goods had not arrived almost a month.

This is my biggest regret and I really think I should stick to my DHL after I finally collect my goods from St. Patrick Logistics.

Your story is touching and it's a pity what you're going through at the hand of the shipping company mentioned by you. But frankly speaking not all 3rd party shipping company will disappoint you.

You should also note that express air-freight shipping option is better to use at this time, Instead of using normal cargo shipping option due to the recent problem with the customs and clearing agents at Nacho.

I don't think so but may I ask why would u want to use dhl which will likely be expensive? you can use a 3rd party shipper with express shipping method by Air and your items will land in Lagos from China within 24-48 hours, I believe the cost will be cheaper compare to dhl... In this case, make use of a shipping agent to receive your items for you in China, and forward it to Nigeria. It'll be cheaper than using FedEx or DHL.
You'll just tell the seller to use Free shipping for your goods to your shipping agent location in China. if the seller no agree to do that, just look for another seller willing to, of course you'll see.

I attempted to do that back in August with a Nigerian PayPal account I opened, but then I got an error message from PayPal.

I mean money cannot be sent out from your Nigerian PayPal acct as "Gift",

Unless you're making payment to a merchant in which case PayPal will instantly charge your bank ATM debit card linked to the account.

As of now, PayPal hasn't Enabled that features for accounts domiciled in Nigeria as stated clearly on the Nigerian- PayPal FAQ page. You'll need a supported foreign country domiciled account to do that. Besides how much are you trying to send?

What mode of payments are accepted by the seller you want to purchase your needed material from?

You can use PayPal if they accept it, because with PayPal your payment transaction will be very fast to confirm by your seller. Also your payment will be safer because PayPal provides you with refund policy and you can open a dispute for your transaction payment if the seller didn't deliver as promised.

At Prime-Link Global Communications, We can help you make the payment through PayPal (with our pay4me service) at normal exchange rate if you have difficulty in doing that yourself.

If it's for buying, you can easily get a "Nigerian domiciled" PayPal account from their url homepage. You can enter the words "PayPal Nigeria signup" into the Google search box to take you there.

If it's for selling, unfortunately Nigerian PayPal account cannot work for receiving funds at present, until PayPal will enable "receiving options" for Nigerians. You will need a foreign country domiciled PayPal account (for example: USA PayPal account) to be selling and for receiving your funds.

To setup and successfully operate a USA PayPal
account, you need the following requirements put in
place standby:

* A USA phone number
* A USA bank account
* A USA IP address/VPN
* A USA address location

These requirements comes at a cost for you to get,
unless if you have a friend/family abroad who can help
you provide any of the requirements.
