I thought of dis yesterday wen i saw d way pple attack one anoda on nairaland. A party is possible wit d help of Seun. Strictly 4 nairalanders invitation will be sent to registered mail and d most interesting thing is dat d identity of pple @ d party remains unravelled. A tread can be opened 4 dis while d party is on and partying members comment, dis will be more interesting as comment 4rm members @ d party gives clue about who is present but not d real identity of such person because dats wat makes nairaland unique. In Yoruba, it is believed that men will acheive success at different stages of life and it varies with individuals with reference to stars which are: 1. Irawo Aro<literally Morning Star> which depicts that d person will be successful probably btw ages 18-35 yrs beyond. This is the stage i wish 4 myself and friends. 2. Irawo Osan<literally Afternoon Star> depicts that a person will achieve success probably btw ages 36-60 yrs beyond. 3. Irawo Ale<literally Evening Star> depicts success btw ages 61 till death calls. A Perfect epitome of a celebrity in dis category is Fatai Rolling Dollar, a 87 year-old yoruba juju musician. I saw and heard baba speak @ Femi kuti's 50th birthday calling Femi his boy and i marvel at d sharp contrast btw the two. Femi with a purported morning star and Fatai with a purported Evening star. |

Wat nonsense is some dude sayin here. d govt is 100 percent right to have demolished mokoko. some of the dude living there could have lived a better life in their villages but chose to add to the problem in lagos. must every1 live in the city;most of the guys here am sure do not even pay taxes yet dey add to d numerous troubles in dis cities living in shanty and slum. And some starry-eyed idealist will say the govt will reclaim d slum and allocate to themselves and friends abeg if dem no alokate to demselves na poor man make dem alokate to so as to develop it into shanty again. 4 a city to develop makoko and other shanties must go and compensation needs not be paid to the settlers because in d first place d land was illegally claimed. |

Why shld dey remove d mentally challenged man when he proves useful 4 insane motorist. if d man dey butcher pple den it's different. if he is removed at all, it shld 4 treatment and not because he is challenged and deemed unfit to be useful in such situation. Have we forgotten d mentally challenged woman(a purported nurse frm Ekiti) dat delivered a fellow mentally challenged pregnant lady of a baby 2yrs ago. I'm happy with the marks here. I never knew guys had higher marks in PUTME than UTME when a whole lot of them cried foul on this same platform about d test been too hard. However, the earlier u learn to take ur destiny in ur hands the better. NO 2ND CHOICE IN FEDERAL UNIVERSITY, the only reason 2nd choice candidates are invited to write putme is to make money and probably if all 1st chioce candidates cannot fill d available space which doesn't happen (Unilag doesn't call 2nd choice at all). 2nd choice ONLY if ur dad is the VC, DEAN AND PROVOST. 1st choice guys only 3000+ of the 7000+ will be admitted so start calling ur God and ur link into OAU only guys wit merit score are exempted. Don't sit @ home also get books related to ur course of study and read voraciously because wen u resume u will know d reason why the mighty withers in OAU. |

I laugh @ some of d comment some guyz just pop-up here without hm... 1. I accept dat the tests are quite tough but all d same we students at OAU did dat same test and passed well. Even when we were secondary school leaver. 2. D 7000+ dat passed where did they surface from. Are they from other universities. D test is a war for the fully fit to overcome not 2ndary skol fail out. 3. To those dat didn't make the cut-off, do a sincere evaluation of yourselves or choose other schools next year Personally, i wrote the test twice before i gained admission. After i failed the first, i knew deep within me that i'm worth more than what i scored and i was more confident when i wrote the test the second time. To those that passed, begin to pray and make the right connection because it is just about 3500 of those coming in through UTME that will be admitted. D remaining 1500 is 4 pre-degree and direct entry. The problem i ave with d test was d way they extorted the candidates. The reg card was 2350 which shld have allowed dem to check their result but the skol also cameup wit d result checker which was 3350 ( why would a body conduct an exam and ask candidates to pay to check their result when the outcome can be adverse or favorable). |

Good write-up. First, the God factor is the most important thing. With God i'm findin reading(reading and understanding) more easier dan b4. However, here in OAU will have students dat don't observe half as much as d above guidelines with first class. Memory pass memory. D present conditions of OAU's halls is very terrible. Rooms and facilities designed for 2 persons(faj & Awo),4 persons(angola) now accommodating 6 legal and 12 legal occupants in Faj§Awo and Angola respectively. A room in Angola now meant for 12 guyz may accommodate as many as 20 guyz. I almost wept d day i visited Angola Hall BUT I also gave thanks to God 4 not allowing d so-called e-portal to throw me into dat hall. Abeg no talk about toilet and other facilities. I wonder how d ladies cope in the Female hostels especially with the fact that they are more susceptible to toilet infections. D issue has been made more difficult with the prices of accommodation off-campus. Any decent space off-campus ranges frm 80k and above in areas close to d skol. Even d bedspace in this halls cost between 20-80k frm a legal occupant selling his/her space which is about 3k frm d skol authority. GOD HELP US ALL |

@Azeez i will advice u choose oau 4 one of d two entry mode it depends on d 1 u desire most. 1st 4 ur DE upper credit and knowing a credible & notable person is d only way into IFE [if u are sure d result will be ready by august it is possible & d good news in dat OAU favors fed polys and ur skol is 1 of them]. A friend of mine had problem wit DE because d result was late. 4 utme mode dis is d easiest and most challenging entry into ife 1. smash 270+ in utme which i believe u have done. 2. score like 260+ in putme Do dis i'm sure u wont have to lobby 4 admission b4 dey admit u but remember only 1st choice is admitted. D problem wit OAU is d post UTME exam d tin tough oh make i no lie so start reading. |
