My interview was by 8:00m but I got there by 5:29am. I met 6 people there already waiting and I joined them. When it was some minutes to 6am,a woman asked us why came this early and we told her some of us had appointment by 6am,she was so shocked. She said she was expecting 7am as the earliest time for appointments.
So,she took her time before she started attending to us. We were asked to line up and we did security check before we started going inside the building in 5.
The V.O denied the first two ladies. They were married and working. Only one came with her kid. The 6 people that followed were given. Two were going for undergraduate,one PhD and 3 masters. Three have started their courses online.
I was the 9th person that was attended to.
V.O :- Good morning
Me:- Good morning (I passed my passport,I-20 and SEVIS fee confirmation page).
V.O:- Where are you going?
Me:- I am going to Georgia state university for my master's degree in Chemistry.
V.O:- Why this school?
Me:- The university has a strong reputation for research, innovation and diversity, I believe it would be an exciting place to be as I would be offered varieties in (he cuts me)
V.O:- Tell me things I can not find on the school website. You are telling me things you crammed from the school website
Me:-( Looking at him without saying anything because I was so confused)
V.O:- How many schools did you apply to?
Me:- Six
V.O:- Name them
Me:- Marquette university,Texas Tech, Bowling Green, Auburn university,Ohio university and GSU.
V.O:- Did Marquette give you admission?
Me:- No
V.O:- What about Auburn and others?
Me:- Only GSU gave me admission.
V.O:- oooooh I see, Which University did you finish from?
Me:- Federal University of Technology Minna.
V.O:- Who will pay for your deficit ($15,000)
Me:- My brother
V.O:- What does he do?
Me:- He has big store where be sells food stuffs and provisions in wholesale and also.has trucks for transportation business.
V.O:- Okay(types for some minutes). I intend to approve your visa,we are having problems with our reciprocity fee payment,you will have to come back tomorrow to pay it. Thank you
Me:- You are welcome ( I was shocked when he told me thank you,I said you are welcome in reflex).
He didn't ask me for any documents.

I was scheduled for 6am. Got their 5:30 am. We didn't start until around 6:30. Everyone that cane for 7 and 8 am was attended to together.. We joined the queue together.

Here is how it went

VO: good morning, pass me your documents.
Me: good morning and I passed it.
VO: where are you heading?
Me: I am a student of GSU and im studying Geosciences at MSC level.
VO: Whao! You are a student already? When did you start your program
Me: Yes. I have started in fall August 24 2020.
VO: type for some seconds and said do you have the evidence of enrollment.
Me: yes. I passed my certificate of enrollment and school fees payment receipt.
VO: He types again and ask you got a scholarship?.
Me: Yes. I got a tuition waiver and GA with stipend.
VO: Who is sponsoring your other expenses and what does he do?
ME: My Uncle. He is into real estate and has two filling station. VO cuts in..your father side or mother side. I said my mother side.
VO: OK. Where did you do your undergraduate?
Me: University of Lagos, University of first choice and the Nations pride.
VO: Ohh.. Lagos.
Me: Yes.
VO: Are you married, do you have children
Me: NO I'm not married and don't have any kid.
VO: This is your i20, take it along when you are traveling, Our system is down for now. Come back later maybe tomorrow to pay your recipository fee.
Me: The state way. ����✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️


The white man that interviewed me denied first two people and I was number on number 9. He approved from number 3 to number 10. That I knew. I can't say about those that are after us.

2 undergraduates were approved. The remaining 4 was MSC including myself and 1 phd. 3 of us have started our program already while just two hasn't begin theirs.

Alhamdulilah.To God be the glory. I wish everyone success. When you are going, plan to be there a day to your interview. Maybe an hotel. The road blockage is mad.. I fly bike tore and very expensive while coming back.

Thanks for this. Please the deficit you mention. In case someone has a partial scholarship like 50k out 60k Tuition fees, can we say the remaining tuition fees 10k is the deficit? Or does it include the Expensive fees like Housing, Foods etc indicated in the I-20? Thanks

Deficit is the total cost of attendance minus the scholarship, so it includes what you mentioned above as indicated on the i20

No! You're wrong! He own the right to leave the transcript as he wanted it. You don't have to know his school. He is not obliged to reveal it.
Students on this thread have the habit of copying, the habit of "bombing" universities they see that one student has been approved visa to attend. Note that not all students on this thread found the school they applied to and got admission and visa, on this thread.

I think you are displeased because you're interested in his school. You can search your own school and apply.
APSU, from about 3 years ago until last fall, was bombed so much that the school reduced its stipend to $150 from initial $600 in 2018-2019 section. Yes, the school might be having limited funding after taking in many Nigerians, but I kinda believe it is not ideal if every student want to apply to the same school a visa-approved student is going.

Just look for your own school. Do your own home work. Use google, use search strings. Affordable Universities in US for Master's in Healthcare Administration, etc. Almost all the students I am currently conducting mock for searched their own schools.
There is a particular lady on this thread who searched the entire universities offering Master's in communication in the U.S! I mean every single university in every US state that offers master degree in communication. Imagine searching schools in every US state? That is the type of work I am talking about. Now she has almost full funding with minor deficit.

Conclusively, don't dare be lazy about this process! Invest energy and time for broad research on schools. If you are angry that people are hiding their schools, get it right: they don't have to reveal it. Search for your own schools, apply, do the work, and get your visa too. When it is time to share your transcript, choose whether to reveal or hide it. Nobody is obliged to do it.

Fairheart, I also disagree with you , it's not about copying schools. I felt that way when I read the transcript too. The point of posting transcript is to help others now or in the future, so if you don't want to post transcript, just say your visa was approved, nobody will force you to post the transcript.

If you want to do something, do it well.

Yes you can, if you cancel your Abuja appointment, you can chose a date in Lagos. But note that you can only cancel/reschedule your appointment once, after canceling/rescheduling the first time, you have to pay another fee if you want to reschedule/cancel again.

I don't think they are working in Abuja for now. It's better to just pick a date in Lagos. You don't have to take a letter of support.

Right now I'm on the site for booking appointments, and I noticed theres space for first name and surname, no space for other names/middle name and they said the name a should be same as your passport.

So I want to put both my first name and middle name in the column for first name. So at the end all my names show.

No, just put your first name and last/surname where it is specified, no need for middle name

Since the deficit is small, I don't think your interview should be that different. Just ensure you have the 2.5k for the two years that is 5k showing in your account. Be prepared to go with your bank statement and answer questions about what you do for a living.

But in all, I think your interview would most likely be like the regular one.

I recently schedule my visa interview, but before then, I already generated an application number on the D-160 form without filling the personal information on the DS-160 form.

I already used the DS-160 Application number to schedule the visa interview. Now, I want to go back to complete the DS-160 form, I already have the application ID but it is not accepting my security Questions ( first name and year of birth) because I didn't fill the form at all.

May I know if their is any way forward on this please?

You can use another browser/network. If it doesn't work, fill another DS-160 form, then update the new ID on the visa page

Do I list my waec subjects in that space or ?

3. Is it OK to fill only my uni under education and leave out high school. Does it matter that I have 5 years gap between when I finished high school and when I gained admission to uni?

For high-school, you can just indicate if it's science, Art, etc.

You can only pay at a GTBank branch or GTBank app, since it's late, you can use the GTbank app option, someone can also help you pay with their app.

The gap between high-school and university should be alright especially cause of the Jamb issue in naija

2. Apply to University.

I have HND in a Health field. The entry qualification for this profession is an Associate Degree. This can be done in a Community College. If you want to Teach or go into research then you can complete your Bachelors degree (Most time online), get your masters and you are good to go. An Associate Degree is enough for Licensure and eligibility to practice.

This is my question...

1. Has anyone ever gotten a visa with an I-20 from a Community College?

2. Since i have HND and Associate Degree and more or less the same, will it show a career progression?

Won't the VO think I'm going to study what i already did?

Community College might not be a good idea, evaluate your HND using WES and apply for Masters instead

Is there supposed to be a covering note attached and addressed to the Consular section before the statement starts running? Yes you can pay the visa fee and then the Sevis fee later. Just ensure you pay the Sevis at least 3 days before your interview

Yes it is compulsory, answer no, you're not meant to make specific plans until you get your visa.

Point of entry?, I don't think you'd be asked for your statement of account at the point of entry. At least I wasn't and I haven't seen anyone who was. Although you'd be asked how much cash you have at hand.

It depends on if someone declines their offer, how fast they decline it and what number you are on the wait list.

When I was waiting for admission in my school last year, the graduate director told me I was on the wait list and I got my acceptance letter the 3rd day.

Below are the schools I applied to.

University of North Dakota : accepted into the PhD program without funding. I went ahead to Send emails to the GC but was promised research assistantship after my first semester based on my performance. I see PhD admit without funding as a subtle rejection.
University of Louisiana, Lafayette : accepted into the Ms program. No info on funding. GC is yet to reply my email.
Missouri university of science and technology: accepted into the Ms non-thesis program without funding.
West Virginia university, Morgantown: awaiting PhD admission decision.
Funding seems elusive. My test scores are frustrating my CGPA. I'm in despair

Your GRE score is somehow too low for an engineering course, especially for a PhD engineering course. You can try to apply to some safe schools for Ms. Also, make sure you work on other aspects of your application too to make up for the low GRE

It's different with schools, some you have to accept on the application portal, some you have to sign the offer letter and send back to them.

However, I will say it's not necessary to accept the admission if the deadline is not close and if you're still waiting for other schools.
