Phateemah8235: I picked Jan 22 after my emergency appointment got approved but I still have the reschedule button on my portal. So can I still go ahead or still keep looking for date?.y Lagos deh do like dis na, from Jan 22 to 29. If you have only picked a date once, you can still reschedule. No need to cancel your appointment, go to the reschedule page, if you see a closer date pick it. So that if you don't see a better date you'd still have your previous one. So don't cancel, just reschedule |

STTITUS: Thanks. But how do I fill a new DS-160 form? You can put your old DS-160 form number on the page, it will ask you if you want to retrieve it, say yes. Then you'd have a new one which would be filled partially, so you can go through it and answer the parts not filled out. Or you can just start another form entirely, same way you started the old one. Then you can get your new form number and update on your visa page |

Me: Yes VO: Biology PhD, right? Me: Yes VO: Why xxxx University? Me: A key factor in my decision to pursue a PhD in this university is the overlap between my research interest and that of professors in the department like Prof. Bleep and Prof. xxxxx. In addition to that, the fact the the admission came with full funding made it an easy decision VO: Are you married Me: No VO: Do you have a winter jacket? Me: I’ll get one if you approve my visa VO: I’ll be approving your visa, go and pay your reciprocity fee over there.

UNCG: My Transcript. Lagos. November, 13th.
VO: Where are you going to? Me: I'm going to the University of North Carolina, Greensboro for a Master's in Information Technology and Management. VO: What would you do with this course? Me: I want to solve the problem of food distribution. This program, information technology and management with a concentration in supply chain will ensure I am trained to apply information technology, data and systems to the food chain, to ensure the supply matches the demands. (Looking back, I should have mentioned that I have a background in Food Engineering). VO: It seems you've really researched this. Me: Yes, I have. VO: Why this school? Me: Asides being offered funding, this program is unique. Information Technology and Management with a concentration in supply chain management. I'll be getting a technical education and also a business education which is perfect for my career interest. VO: What other schools did you apply to? Me: University of Florida and Pennsylvania State University. VO: Pennsylvania. I see you have funding. What is it about? Me: I was offered graduate assistantship and would be working as an instructional assistant. VO: Who is paying the deficit? Me: My uncle. VO: Where does he stay? Me: Lagos. VO: What does he do? Me: He operates a big medical diagnostic laboratory. VO: Are you Married? Kids? Me: No VO: Your application is denied. Take this paper?
BSc: Food Engineering Funding: $26,000+ Deficit: $11,000+
I cannot 100% recall the conversation and I tried to put it down as best as I can recall. My VO was at stand 6 and the two people before me were rejected.
Looking back, it is easy to say I should have said this or I should have responded this way but I responded to the best of my ability. My profile is good and the questions he asked were generic so I'm totally confused about the reason for the rejection. He did not ask for bank statement or any other document.
I'll pay another appointment fee but this time I'll choose Abuja. I want to encourage you to reapply, sometimes you might not know why you were denied, it happens sometimes. I was also denied my first time last year even when I was 99% sure I would be approved, just reapply and do more mock interviews. Wish you the best |

Zic24: 32yr, have a bsc You are 32years and have a BSC. You would most likely not be approved for an Associate degree cause it's lesser than BSC, even the chance of getting approval for another BS at that age is slim. I will suggest you apply for a graduate program instead |

BGodsonMay: Good morning house. Please I will like to know if anyone has encountered this or has idea on how to go about it;
I received my I-20 few days back and attached to it is a Scholarship certificate stating that I've been awarded an Academic and Cultural Sharing Scholarship but the funding amount of the scholarship isn't reflecting on my I-20. So, my question is; 1. Should I go with the certificate to my interview? And what should I say when the VO asks why it isn't reflecting on my I-20. 2. Has anyone been in this situation?? And if yes was your Visa approved?? Thanks in advance. Email your school that you'd like the scholarship to reflect on your i20, get the new i20 and print it. The VO might not look at the certificate, so make sure it reflects on the i20 |

I couldn't make changes on my DS 160 but I plan to inform the VO during my interview. If your interview is still at least 3 days, you can make the changes now. It's better to be safe than sorry. omolewa1984jyde: Good evening everyone and congrats to people that have been approved recently.
I have a small question. My appointment is in two weeks time but I have a little concern.
I put August 15th as my arrival date in my DS-160 form but due to COVID, I couldn't secure appointment. Now that I have an appointment and my program starts in-person classes for spring semester which makes my new arrival date to be in January. The question is do I have to change it on the DS-160??
Is it also true that schools have to update our sevis account for a new start date?? I really don't that part.
Please, if anyone has answers to these questions, kindly assist. Thanks Retrieve your old DS-160 form, if you can't, fill another one, submit and update it on your visa page |

Hollyholy: Hi guys, I filled the immigration advisor in my i20 as my contact person when filling my ds-160. I have booked my appointment.
My department increased my funding and another i20 was issued to me to reflect it. Now I noticed the name of the contact person on my i20 has changed.
What do I do now? You can just fill another DS160 by retrieving the old one. Then update the DS-160 number on your visa profile. |
