Well, they just put all that's in my uncle's account as the deficit on my i-20. Deficit should be 24k dols. But they put 70k dols

You need to request for a new i20, tell the international office you need the the amount your uncle is supporting you with to be the difference between your cost of attendance and the scholarship you have.

Prepare harder, try and get the multi-compartmental folder lalavita was talking about for better arrangement of document

Maybe they were trying to assess if you truly know your sponsor or if you were the one that filled the form yourself

So far you don't select the date and click reschedule, it won't. The old date will still be yours until you finally reschedule.

Of course you can, just click reschedule appointment. And check the available datse, you can reschedule when you see your desired date. Note that you are limited to visiting the rescheduling page 5 times per day

I saw June 21(yes tomorrow, 1 slot) and July 18(didnt check how many slots) and alot of August. That's for Lagos and provided the person haven't been refused before, if he/she has been refused, he/she might not see any date.

This report was valid till 3am today. Don't know about now.

Hello, so my visa was delayed at the Lagos consulate today , my appointment time was 6:30, I was interviewed by a white guy in his 30s or 40s at window 3.


VO: Why are you going to the US
Me: I am going for my Masters in Mathematics with concentration in Biostatistics at Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia.

VO:Why this course
Me: This course would equip me with the necessary skills in tackling some public health challenges, such as the investigation of food borne disease, establishing the causes of illness outbreak and it would enable me to take on job when I come back.

VO:What's your highest qualification
ME: I have a Bachelor of Technology in Statistics

VO:What is Biostatistics
Me: Biostatistics is the application of Statistical methodologies to the field of forensic Medicine, medical practices, public health and other health related fields

VO: How did you hear about the school
Me: I did an extensive research on usnews to know the schools that offer Statistics with Concentration in Biostatistics and I came across GSU

VO: How did you get this huge scholarship
Me: I believe the admission committee were impressed with my CGPA, the fact that I graduated at the top 7 of my class, my statement of purpose, the recommendation my lecturers sent across.

VO: You have an oncampus employment, what will you be doing
Me: I have not been assigned my duties..... A pause, it's a graduate teaching assistantship position

What I noticed during the interview, he emphasised on the huge scholarship as if he was impressed, but I feel he was disappointed with the fact that I said I haven't been assigned my duties, he said again that but you have a campus employment, that was when I mentioned that it is a graduate teaching assistantship position.

Also, how I got my scholarship, I should have mentioned my GRE scores, also although he didn't ask what I would do after my course, when he asked why this course, at the end, I should have mentioned a specific position, I had an answer for that. Please help me figure out what went wrong and how I can improve my responses, I want to reapply immediately.

No document was asked except passport, Sevis fee, and i20

GRE score:314, 161Q, 153V
My tuition was waived(30k)+ 10k stipends, total cost of attendance is roughly 49k, so deficit of less than 9k.

I want to be one of the starting members of this group in Nigeria (this last sentence ehn, I don't know why I said it, I was planning to say some other things that'd answer 'why the course and what will the course do for you'). I was like, I don Bleep up, I'm not even sure I said those well, I think I wasn't audible enough.
VO: What will your research be about?
Me: Can you please repeat that? (She did) and I said "Dark Matter".
VO: Dark matter? (making one funny gesture and I said to myself, Game over, I should have said it In a better way)
VO: (After checking through my i20) I can see you have an assistantship, did you write any standardized test?
Me: Yes, I did. I wrote GRE.
VO: score please
Me: 308
VO: (Typed for like 30 seconds)... I have approved your visa, you can take it up after 3 working days.
Me: I actually still don't know what I said, I stammered and was shaking, I packed my documents and left.

Time: 7:45am

I think the major reason why I got scared was that I never knew the interview would be kind of Open like that, I thought it was a kindaf private thing that i'd even sit. As I entered into the room, I was like waawu and got really scared.

Sorry for barging in, don't even bother to use UPS, they experience delay all the time, mine was delayed for 1 week. If you don't want heartbreak, just use DHL. Or FedEx. All the best

You do not have power over the duration of the cost estimated on your i20, some schools estimate 12months, others 9months, others 8 months, the 12months only means they estimated the cost of Summer semester too, so I don't think you have anything to worry about cause like it is stated, it is just an estimate. You can as well email the international office to make enquiries

About the school you applied to, be truthful, tell the VO you considered other schools but only applied to one, shikena.

If you want to reschedule your appointment, click the "reschedule appointment" button on the lefthand side of your visa page, the available dates would be displayed, check through the available dates to see the one you're like to go with, click the date and press the reschedule button under the calendar. Viola, you have successfully rescheduled your appointment. Kindly note that you can only reschedule once. All the best.

Hello, sorry about that, what is the tracking code saying. Ups has been having some delays these days, mine was delayed for one week extra and if I had waited for it to come I would have gotten dates in August instead of the June I got because when the i20 was in transit, dates were many in June but when it came, only August dates were available, so it's best to act now.

Pay your visa fee, start your DS160 form, fill as much as you can but don't submit yet, note the Application ID. Create visa application account, put the necessary details including the application ID of the unsubmitted DS160 form and book your appointment.

When your i20 gets here, you can fill the information you need on it into your DS160 form and then submit the form. It's best to act now, plus you can keep checking to see if dates open up in June and July in the nearest future and then reschedule your appointment. Remember, you can only reschedule once. Type this on Google: US embassy Nigeria customer care, the first number you see is the number. You might want to call them right now cause they would soon leave office and you won't be able to contact them again until Monday

That's why I said you should change the DS160 application ID on your visa page from the old one to the new one. Have you done that?

You don't need to book a new appointment, just change the DS160 application ID on the visa page from the old one to the new one, at least 3 days to your interview.

I noticed something on the i20, the i20 was for spring, hope you know you need to get another i20 for this fall if you're trying to go for the interview anytime soon.

Yes you can reschedule but only once, after that you'd have to pay another visa fee
