Somebody hacked the Nigerian (Tourism?) dept website and gained access to all the tourism officials emails. They said they found massive evidence of corruption.

Too bad it was an oyibo. We never heard from them again.

If this group can hack into a major FG department website and gain access to all the email addresses that use that website as the domain (for example: randomcivilservant@fmf.gov.ng)...

They will do some major good for this country.

They will just need to recruit on the Internet to find hackers willing to help (for free!). Some peeps in the technology section should be able to point them in the right direction.

We need to start waging cyber-attacks on corrupt state govts,federal govt parastatals and agencies and even corrupt big-wigs in the private sector and expose their corruption.

There are countries like UAE,saudiarabia that are far more significant players in the oil market than Nigeria and yet they are almost incouspicous at the UN.

Yes! population (if directly related to patronage) is key but have you taken into consideration the new tariffs that affect their cost of services? patronage in Ghana may not be as high as Nigeria but cost of services is definitely low going by tariffs charged.
Also, aviation in Ghana is taking a new turn with the new International Airport to be started soon (hopefully) near Accra. Works on the Tamale Airport to upgrade it to an international status is also to begin before the year ends. its relatively better to fly than go by bus lately. A bus journey from Tamale to Accra is 730km (10hrs) and costs GHC45 ($22.5). plane tickets for the same journey (45-60mins) go for between GHC100-GHC200 ($50-$100). though not cheap for the average Ghanaian, patronage is high hence the introduction of late afternoon flights as well. Ghana's aviation is doing all it takes to make it easy and cheap to operate airlines in the country and reduced prices of aviation fuel by 20% just in June this year.
And to that dude laughing at the increase in electricity and water tariffs in Ghana i can only laugh back at him/her. for years tariffs have not gone up. supply of both utilities has been improved greatly and there's going to be more improvement in them especially electricity. one thing the ruling government will achieve is their promise of 5000MW by 2016. the country is currently supplying approximately 2000MW with works ongoing to increase it.

It would have been the same if they said togo,coted'ivoire or any other country in west african country.
Ghana only has 2 or 3 airport compared to Nigeria's 26 and counting.
And the airport infrastructure in ghana is pretty shitt as well.
The customer base in ghana is not as promising as Nigeria and the ghanian economy is not as buoyant.
The high-cost of aviation fuel in ghana is also a factor.
So all in all,it would be economic suicide for them to move to ghana and they know it.
They would be replaced quickly by other Nigerian airlines.

Like i said before,if they don't want to pay taxes for the maintainence of airport infrastructure,then they can leave, though i doubt that they want to leave.
Other airlines will take their place in a heart-beat.

Federal Govt roads are in shambles where i am. The Lagos-Ibadan express, Oshodi Apapa road and Airport road are the main areas the FG could have used to convince a lot of people about. their seriousness but for now they are still terrible.

Internet connectivity was always destined to be reduced due to competition. Various providers reduced their prices to win over the masses and that in turn resulted in lower prices.

4 Play: That Nigeria's economy is growing is undeniable but the growth is inspite of, not because of, the current administration. Growth shows up in many of the stats tracking consumer demand: whether internet usage, household goods, import volume, cement usage, fuel consumption, e.t.c.

However, current growth is a product of high oil prices, growing population and having a low base economy which means that it takes very little to generate growth. If the FG was competent, we should be growing faster - GDP annual growth in double digits - and a greater slice of the population would have felt the impact.

I won't say the growth in Nigeria is independent of the govt,but yes,we should be growing in double-digits to have large scale economic emancipation.
