They have good roads and water,and are also agriculturally self-sufficient.
The price of food is far cheaper in the North.
Borno is one of the lowest states in the North and they have more good roads than the SW.
Kano state is the commercial capital of the North.

Especially,in africa where there's gross misplacement of priorities.
