This scandal happened in the armateur league and the teams have been suspended for 4 years while the players have been banned for life.
Btw,there were reports of match fixing in the italian league some time ago and recently in the brazilian league.
I am definitely sure you still watch atleast one of those leagues.

Match fixing is a thing of the past.
The pitches have already improved,infact NPFL boasts of some of the best pitches in african club football.
The referring has gotten better,though there is room for improvement.
The players welfare is where i think we are still lagging behind,as quite a number of clubs tend to owe their players too much for too long.

My friend travelling out of your country for vacation is not an issue subject to debate. Whatever happens to seeing places and shopping alongside? Even Americans, Britons and Europeans travel faraway from their country for vacation and tourism. There is nuffin wrong if I choose to spend my next vacation in Bahamas or London. Not everyone who travels out of Nigeria do that because he or she is tired of living here.

But these countries don't want you?
They are categorically asking you to stay in your country,yet you want to go and shop there.

How else can one explain such a policy? Nigeria is even a small case, what about India? Which serious country can afford to antagonise INDIA, one of the world's biggest markets and emerging economies?

Anyway like the author said, there are alternatives to London. We can go to shop in Paris, educate our kids in the US, go for a Dubai holiday and trade with China. We can even retaliate by levying a surtax on British companies operating in Nigeria (call it a "business bond" or whatever).
