They just need 10 strategic ones to destroy your capital city. God help you defending yourselves against those lethal missiles. You don't know Algeria is richer than Nigeria, no?? Bwahahahaha. Algeria has more than enough money to go to war with Nigeria. Indian Akash missile? - bwahahahahahahaha. as for the Roland air defense system, I doubt it can shoot down your obsolete Alpha Jets. Targeting SU-27 would look like Gaddafi's air defense system targeting the Eurofighter. Just hot air, shooting in the sky for no reason. ![]() Anyway, I'm just saying it as it is. I don't hate Nigeria. I just think you want to claim the giant of Africa title, then you need to upgrade your military and your country. Your military is your voice and it determines how powerful you're.
Nigeria defeated by supporter of APC? Where, when, how? The indian akash missile defence system is the best missile defence india has. Don't underate it. Nigeria has already paid for a lot of yet to be delivered military hardwares. By 2014-2015 when many of these stuff will be delivered,Nigeria will completely surpass its nearest rivals leaving Egypt as its sole competitor. Btw,Do you know that Nigeria has the best ship-building industry in Africa? With the transfer of stealth tech from china next year,we should start developing our own stealth ships. |
Yeah, the same Nigerian army that were disgraced by camel riding supporter of APC militias in Sudan. The same Nigerian army that needed the help of both the UK and Indian special forces in Sierra Leone against a rag tag rebel after taking massive loses. The same Nigerian army that couldn't defeat MEND and can't defeat Boko Haram. I guess Nigerian army is also the French army that ousted Gbagbo in Ivory Coast, no? You need to stop telling porkies.
smh. I wonder where you get all these crappy stories from. |
armyofone: cough, coughTake this "God bless america" nonsense out of here. And would you mind telling us which of those pictures above is not a drone. |
How many did you buy and how many has had engine problems? Do the ratio to get what you need to know about its reliability problems. I don't care if they have sold or not, but can Nigeria build an attack helicopter of that quality? Heck, it's almost on the same level as both Mi-35 and Apache. They don't even need mi-35s, they just need to mass produce their rooivalk and they're good. Nah, flying tank is cheaper and readily available, hence why more people go for it. India ordered the new improved apache not to long ago to replace mi-35 - that tells you all you need to know. The Russians also have an upgrade in their inventory.
Sorry,i can't answer your first question. As for southafrican rooivak,it's nowhere near MI-35 and apache. Btw,Nigeria has already started local manufacture of F-7 and MI-35 upgraded component parts. The SA defence industry is obviously better though Nigeria's DICON is fast catching up. |
HolyHolla: I can't think of a better Wazobia name. We all know 'Amebor' to be eavesdropper and information monger and that's what drones do.True. That's a befitting name. |
![]() You don't want Algeria turning your capital city to rubbles with s300s, do you? You know s300s can be used for offense as well, don't you? Also, you don't want me posting everything in the Algerian military inventory, do you? Nigeria has no missile capabilities. The Ethiopians are well tested and they've got a fine military. The peacekeeping thing is overrated. Nigerian soldiers just go to those countries to make babies. They made more than 500,000(or is it 50,000) kids in Sierra Leone alone.
The algerians does not have enough s-600s neither do they have the capabilities or even the funds to successfully carry out and sustain offensives against Nigeria. It would be a suicide mission, with a devastating counter-attack from Nigeria. Ethiopians have a good war history, but that's all there's to it. They also don't have enough SU-27,which is their only advantage, to carry out an offensive against Nigeria. Any attempt on their path will lead to them be shot out of the sky by the indian Akash missile defence system or even the Roland. Btw, Nigeria has the newly acquired indian akash missile defence system. Peace-keeping is war! Very few militaries can successfully carryout peace-keeping missions. And lastly, the US military are renowned for their brutality and rape of many arab women. That dosen't make them unproffessional. |
How can you say it's no walk-over when it stays falling from sky? It seems you don't understand military doctrine. Oh, you mean the same rooivalk that Israel and Turkey showed interests in buying? SA don't need Mi-35p, they have got their nice attack helicopter, made in SA. Better in what aspect? Do you know what Apache did during the gulf war and the number of tanks it destroyed? Perhaps, in avionics and that's about.
Smh.The F-7 was not shot down from the sky,it probably an engine failure or something which happens to even US fighters. As at today SA has not sold any rooivak,as nobody wants to buy. It lacks battle experience and many capabilities which are found in MI-35 and even the apache. The MI-35P(The flying tank) has more battle record than the apache, and it's also more durable. It's preferred by many countries. |
scipher: dummyI tire for the guy o. Nigeria wey don dey test-fire locally manufactured rockets na im the guy wan downgrade. |
Add tanks, professionalism, training, doctrine, and missiles system to the list. I think Ethiopia, Morocco, and maybe Tunisia are also ahead of Nigeria. I'm inclined to add Rwanda and Kenya to the list, to be honest. Rwanda has an alright military and they're trained by the US special forces.
Sorry, the only military in Africa that can boast of a superiority over Nigeria is Egypt, thanks to US military aid of $2 billion annually. Ethiopia, algeria and SA are definitely not better. Mend alone will wreck devastating havoc on the defence capabilities of kenya and tanzania,it's an insult to compare them to Nigeria. And lastly,Nigerian military is a very professional fighting force thanks to OBJ. Which is why we usually head UN/AU peace-enforcing/peace-keeping missions in Africa. |
The variation of the F-7 that China has is different from the ones they sold to Nigeria. And China probably has more than 500 of those jets. That's the chinese military doctrine - mass production at a cheaper cost to protect homeland. The Chinese F-7s are for defense - just something to scramble if there's any threat. And they're integrated with the air defense units. MI-35P is on the same level as Apache and a lot of countries have them in their inventory - nothing special. Suuth Africa produces its own attack helicopters and they're one of the best in the world. So why would they need mi24s? Shyte, Algeria and Egypt have Chinook. ![]() What anti-submarine capabilities? You mean the French exocet rockets that everyone can now figure out? Well, all the francophone countries Africa also have those rockets - nothing special. Those ships are just there to gulp your money. And there are rules attached to how you can use them. They're basically a waste of time, to be honest. Just good for patrol.
It still dosen't matter if the chinese have 500 of them, what matters is that they have them in their inventory as a fighter aircraft. The Nigerian version Of the F-7 called F-7Ni is fitted with some of the best electronic and missiles in the world(both western and oriental upgrade),so it's no walk-over. The southafrican attack helicopter called the rooivak is rubbish. It can't stand an MI-35P and Nigeria has more. And lastly, the russian MI-35 is better than the american apache. |
If you want to be a big time player, then you need a strong military. If you think you don't have any substantial threat then stop claiming to be the giant of Africa when more than five African countries have military hardware you can only dream about. Why wait for 10 years to acquire submarines when Algeria, Egypt and South Africa have submarines? I know Ethiopia would have acquired one time ago if it were no landlocked. Anyway, when the list of countries in Africa who were in the market for SU-27/30 came out last year on RT; I only saw Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda on the list. When did Nigeria get in the mix? Why do we need Chinese fighter jets when the nature of China's military is mass production of cheaper and inferior military hardware to protect homeland? That's the Chinese military doctrine. Yet you wonder why the J-7s you bought from them stay falling off the sky. Again, threats can come from any country. So you need to be on your toes to protect your airspace at all times. You saw what happened to Gaddafi, didn't you? He thought there were no threats till they came bombing his country to bits. Algeria knows what time it is. Anyway, what air defense system do you have? Don't let me post what I think and know it's.
The only areas which Nigeria is lacking in relation to SA,Egypt and algeria are 1)submarine 2)air-superiority fighter 3)Surface to air Missile defence system. Air-superiority fighter deficiency will soon be resolved with hopefully SU-30s,but it's looking more likely to be JF-17 which's not bad. Sumarines are very expensive and you don't just dabble into purchase. You plan for it,and Nigeria has already planned for it. Anyway,we have anti-subs. As for (3) the Roland system is sufficient for now. |
Erm..what do you have in your airforce inventory? Alpha Jets, Chengdu J-7, Augusta copters, mi-34 and Mi-24P... Then what else? What air defense system do you have? And if cold war era ships aren't obsolete, then I don't know what it is. You think Americans give out working naval ships for free?
40% of the chinese airforce are F-7 fighters,so it's still relevant.Nigeria has MI-35P(which is the best in the world), MI-24 attack helicopters, infact in more quantities than SA. The ships you called "obsolete" have been upgraded with some of the best missiles and electronic upgrades in the world. And in case you don't know, Nigeria has anti-submarine capabilities to counter any submarine threat in Africa. |
Bwahahahaha The truth is bitter. Nigeria needs to upgrade its military and leave drones alone for now. Get your airforce to be half as strong as the Egyptian/South Africa/Ethiopian/Algerian airforce. You need to upgrade your air defense system to Algeria's level. Get your navy close to the South African navy's level. You don't even have a mini-submarine - a full one is like a pipe dream. Heck, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania et al are upgrading their airforce. But you lot are still stuck with Alpha Jets and J7 smh. "The truth is incontrovertible. Malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is." - Winston Churchill
Nigeria does not have any substantial threat,so it makes no sense over-spending on the military. The Navy already has a ten year plan to acquire some hardwares including submarines, with two chinese stealth warships(one of them 70% built in Nigeria) arriving next year. The airforce is currently awaiting the arrival of the L-15 interceptors already paid for,and they are currently in the market for superiority fighters either SU-27/30 or the Jf-17 thunders. Our air defence system is sufficient for the threat we face now. |
supaeagles: They will not maintain these drones and now we will have the extra wahala of "dead objects" falling from the skies on our headsI am sure US fighter planes fall from the sky despite the maintainence. |
I'm a regular on Beegeagle's blog and I know your military capabilities. Your airforce is rubbish. Your Navy stays taking 50s and 60s cold war era ships from the yanks. And your army is below par as well.
who cares if you go to beageagle's blog? Your military knowledge about Nigeria is rubbish. Give me one reason why reason why you think the airforce is rubbish? So because Nigeria just like many other countries gets decommissioned ships from the US,it means the navy is bad? Stop talking nonsense. And lastly, the Nigerian army is one of the best in the world. |
victorv12: See the toy they are calling drone?! Can those small things nuke the boko haram and the niger delta militants?! Na wa ooo! That's a surveillance drone. What you are talking about is an attack drone. Btw,do you know what a drone looks like? |
Nigerian drones look like the little toy aeroplane my pops bought for me as a kid. What a funny country!! Who's going to operate the drones? Israelis just stay ripping you lot off with obsolete drones that can't get off the ground. Reconnaissance mission by those non-flying little birds is like a pipe-dream.
I have seen most of your comments on Nigerian military. You know next to nothing about Nigeria's military. Stick to british affairs. |
J12: Quite unfortunate. I'll be the last person to such a call. Anyone who supports this is definitely an enemy of Nigeria. At this critical moment in our national life, what we need is stability and we've struggling to be a stable nation. Such a protest will drag us back to 1984. Take a look at Egypt today, what exactly have they achieved after the massive protests that have swept the country in recent times? Bloodshed and strife. We already have enough of that in Nigeria and calling for more is definitely unpatriotic.you get time o. Most of these people clamouring for a nationwide disturbance and unrest are kids. They don't know that the Egyptians they want to copy, have set themselves back by 50years. |
kingoflag: There definitely are. Problem is the Eastern Region (which seems to be the only ones who cant see WHAT THE WHOLE WORLD IS SEEING ) will be quick to allude it to tribalism thereby imploding the whole polity. I dont care where the Coup leader is from... Tiv, Kalabari, Urhobo, Edo, itshekiri... insofar as hes not Igbo, they will be quick to inflame the country with rumors, cries and screams of "Marginalization" and guess what you'll have then? Another Civil war.
Yawn. Why didn't you protest when OBJ was in power? So because GEJ is a democrat and not a thug like OBJ,you think you can take advantage.? When did GEJ's govt of 3yrs became the source of Nigeria's problem? You think if GEJ is forcefully removed, there will be peace in the country? Make we dey look una. |
$1.1 billion is definitely not sufficient to solve Nigeria infrastructural deficit. This is roughly the amount the English F.A used in setting up a world class training facility for their national team. |
reindeer: The difference my dear, is that Israel will not threaten to annihilate anyone. They build for defence. They haven't said other nations have no right to exist. Compare that to the other countries you mentioned and you see why the world is unhappy for those murderous regimes to hold WMDsBullshitt. Israel is as much a threat to the existence of these nations as they are to israel. The best thing to do is to prevent both sides from developing NCBMs. |
So what makes you think 1 Israeli soldier =100 American soldiers? If that's the case, you make it sound like Israel is undefeatable which we all know is false. Anyone of Great Britain, Germany, USA, Russia or France will easy defeat Israel
Great britain may not be strong enough to defeat israel, not with the recent cut in the military budget of the UK. |
This is the worst kind of hypocrisy exhibited by the west and even the UN. Israel is allowed to develop and even test fire NCBMs,whereas iran and N.korea are being economically sanctioned and isolated for developing theirs. This world is truely unfair. |
Julieccentric: I hope these funds are purposefully utilised.Chinkos no go allow us hear word again o.. |
Julieccentric: I hope these funds are purposefully utilised.Chinkos no go allow us hear word again o..The chinese don't dictate foreign or domestic policy of other nations. If you are worried about overbearing foreign dictators, then you should be talking about america. |
Is this garri individual alright? What has chinese direct investment got to do with GEJ's feeding? |
take dat: Are you a fo0l or intellectually challenged? Did the story originate from Sowore's Sahara Reporters? Is Corruption barometer the same as Corruption Index? The first place i got the news was from SR,you crazed cretin. Tell me the credible organisation responsible for the "corruption barometer" . |
Garri the 1st: Once more a mumu who bears the name of a wise king in bible times is making a FOOL of himself..look at this tool. Smh. |
Garri the 1st: Abeg sharrap dia.... Omokri has been exposed as a fork-tongued liar and you've got the guts to scream opposition. You're a pathetic being...Jump into a lagoon, you dumb head. When did omokri start influencing transparency international? Is that how classless you people are? Accusing an innocent man of influencing an organisation as big as transparency international. Tufiakwa. |
take dat: Nice one bruv! They expect everyone to have a culture of concordance and Yessirism with their stack of lies!Look at this shameless individual. Was this statement not from transparency international? When did sowore or whatever he calls himself became a credible source of corruption index? Have you people no dignity? What do you guys gain from all these nonsense? |
All hail the progressives. Opposition my foot! Only gullible Nigerians still believe we have a credible opposition. Btw,i think it's time FG start arresting mischevious elements that thrive on heating up the polity through the propagation of false news. Democracy is not an excuse for devlish people to post treasonous, damaging and most of the time untrue statements in the media. |
