Afam4eva: Nigeria tooNigeria ke? Abeg no embarass us here o. Light wey we get never reach anywhere. Na manage, we dey manage am oo. |
ogugua88: At least I have light 24/7.lol. China and russia have light too. |
America, the "land of the free". America, the "bastion of justice". yeah right! God bless china, russia and Nigeria for keeping it real. |
Yawnnnn!. Una no get work. |
Abagworo: Buhari of course. We need total annihilation of corruption from our system before bringing in the wise men like Soludo, El-Rufai, Fashola, Rochas, Amaechi etc.Buhari will annihilate corruption from Nigeria? You think the source of corruption in Nigeria is the presidency? Lol at your delusion. |
ba7man: Don't forget to add that it's Your personal opinion.....not a #FACT#.disprove me. |
Sloan: Says you village dingbat? Well, he is surely "god" compared to your state governor and all the governors in your region!Stop foaming in the mouth. Disprove me. |
saengine: Your boko haram camps in Lagos? Oh ok.. thank youwhat is this one saying? Oboi, you dull. |
It seems some people are determined with this feminism of a thing. Na wa. |
Katsumoto: How can six zones be in support of GEJ? At most, there are three.A significant portion of the three anti-Gej zones will vote for GEJ . |
I don't think britain imports crude from Nigeria,anyway. So,we don't care. |
I don't need to be objective. My vote my choice. Oh and he is a member of the pdp.
So? Akpabio is also a member of Pdp,yet he trumps all the governors in the SW. |
Even though i hate it when Nigeria is compared to small African states to make it appear very very prosperous, instead of to Indonesia,Iran or Turkey as it should be, statistics is what it is. BTW, you say that because you haven't been to Lagos.Lagos accounts for 25% of Nigeria's GDP. It will be interesting to know if Nairobi is bigger than Kano and if Mombasa is bigger than Abuja or Port Harcourt. Anyhow, like i said, statistics is what it is.
lagos accounts for 12% and not 25%,though we get your point. |
Koro for 2015. |
Hahaha. |
Agaugust my oga. I can see you o. |
The $240 million we wasted on messed up drones should be able to get us about 20 F-16s, or 10 F-15s. It isn't about budget, we're just to corrupt and we lack foresight and good leadership, that's the honest truth.
I still do not believe that we wasted $240 million on fake drones. That would be really bad. |
Secretive or not, we don't have any 4th gen fighter jets worth talking about, no air defense, rubbish navy etc.. Please, let's be honest and not let patriotism blind our consciousness. Patriotism won't save naija if the country were to be attacked by a formidable power. You need tools for that.
Well,i agree with you. We need to upgrade the airforce quickly as battles are won from the air. Though i believe if a significant threat emerges, the military will expand rapidly. Afterall,we are africa's second largest economy. We should have twice the defence budget of algeria. |
They have got 44 Su-30MKI(4th generation fighter jet) that's the Russian version of F-15, Dassault Rafale and Eurofighter Typhoon 48 MiG-25 35 MiG-29 - f-16 and F/A-18 Hornet Russian equivalent. 45 Su-24 - British Panavia Tornado Russian equivalent. That's pretty impressive for an African country.
With an annual defence budget of more than $8billion,i am not surprised. I am sure GEJ would be eaten alive by Nigerians, if he proposed that amount for the military. |
Onlytruth: But they are wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better, and worth every red cent. Not in all cases. The SU-30 was made to counter the threat of F-18s and it cost far less. The russians currently have SU-37 or something to counter the F-35,and i am sure the difference in price will be astronomical with little or no difference in capabilities. |
Onlytruth: Apart from the subs and the S300s the rest of the arms are pretty much useless in modern warfare.I will rather get SU-30. American planes are ridiculously overpriced. |
The rating is absurd. Where the hell did Nigeria get 294 air crafts from? Ethiopia is ahead of Nigeria and South Africa, on both lists but Nigeria should NEVER be ranked higher than Algeria. It was probably done based on population. Compare for yourself: Nigeria 364 tanks, 1400 armoured vehicles, 294 air crafts, 84 helicopters, and $2.2billion budget. Algeria 1000 tanks, 1800 armoured vehicles, 400 air crafts, 136 helicopters, 3 submarines, s300 air defense system, 12 coastal crafts, and $8 billion budget. ^^^Now tell me why Nigeria was ranked ahead of Algeria on that list?
One thing you should note is that the Nigerian military is very secretive. There is no accurate external source that can tell you the amount of hardwares in the military. |
Israel Sold Non-Functional Drones To Nigeria For $240m Nigerian defence and security equipment contractor, Alh. Rabiu Hassan, yesterday, alleged that some Israeli security contractors (names withheld) were fleecing the nation of huge sums of money in hard currencies by supplying either non-functional equipments or collecting mobilisation fees without making supplies. The contractor told journalists in Abuja that at a time the nation was facing dire security challenges, three Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, UAVs, popularly known as drones, supplied by the Israelis were rotting away in a hangar in Benin because they were non-functional. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/11/isreali-contractors-sold-nigeria-240m-non-functional-drones/
I don't have the real details as i have heard conflicting stories. I think this issue was what necessitated the investment in local drones manufacture. |
^^^^I'm having a son next year. I need one of those naija UAVs as a toy for my little man. ![]() I know you're trying to be patriotic and all but naija needs to shelve drones for now and upgrade the darn military. Those Israeli thieves are just ripping off the country.
we need drones to monitor oil installations from vandals, and islamic extremists.Nigeria is in dire need of quality drones. Btw,everything i said can be verified. I am not unnecessarily patriotic. |
armyofone: It is alright man, someday it will be better.Who cares if you don't like chinese fish? That shouldn't stop china from overtaking the US in the next 10 years. |
Onlytruth: BTW hundreds of millions of dollars should be going into these types of R&Nigeria has made tremendous progress in the past 10years. The defence industry company of Nigeria(DICON) has started the local manufacture of Ak-47s,FN-FALs,RPMGs,APCs,bullet proof vests, rocket pods, components of attack helicopters and Fighter planes, warboats, assault boats e.t.c. They've also partnered with the israeli defence company MAROM-DOLPHIN. Private Nigerian defence companies like proforce and mekhoza who specilize in the manufacture of APCs and MRAPs are springing up. Proforce will begin the local manufacture of UAVs next year. |
Horus: would you mind posting the picture of amebo-3 on the red carpet, please. I have seen you post that picture before. |
amanikondo: THis should be called TATA or Praying Mantis not Amebor. This should be amebo-2. It has been upgraded. |
armyofone:I am sure you will know which plane will crash and which will not, given the fact that the amount of american drones and fighter-planes that has caught fire and dropped from the sky should be in billions of dollars. God bless china, russia and Nigeria. |
Don't act like you don't know the Janjanweed militias destroyed the Nigerian army base in Darfur and killed tons of Nigerian soldiers during the war in Darfur. Heck, even Gen. Martin Luther Agwai alluded to this during his interview with Christiane Amanpour on CNN and he blamed logistics for the attack. India doesn't even trust its own akash air defense system. It uses the prithvi integrated with the Israeli spyder air defense system. I believe India also has the Russian pantsir s1 and buk Mi-2(not too sure about this). Others are also buying up. Algeria's about to purchase $2 billion(or more) of new toys.
Let me even assume that supporter of APC defeated a Nigerian peace-keeping force. Well, shitt happens. America has also suffered devastating defeats by talibans. As for the rest of your post,i can assure you though, that with the incoming military hardwares to Nigeria, algeria will not be a match. |
