@Solomonwis,

Pls, I would like to know if CIC carries out a credit reference check as part of their background checks.

Thanks.
You asked the same question before:

helloCanada:
Hello Bruvs,

I would like to know if CIC carries out credit reference checks as part of their background checks.

Please ooohh. I need this info. It's very important to please. Please help.
I responded as below:

solomonwis:
Check are carried out by CIC on every applicant both from the Centralized Intake Office in Novas Scotia and at the local visa office.

It is always advisable to come clean when sending in applications as the depth of the check to be carried out is dependent on the Immigration Officer in charge of the application.

Hi solomonwis and damkolins and every person on the thread, please i tried updating the imm 008 generic application form. I updated the married status but i was unable to update the how many family members including you in this form, i tried putting 2 for my wife and I and validated. It kept giving me this error you have indicated 2 family members, including you, are to be included in this application. Please enter personal information for all clients, including you.

What does that mean please? Because it won't allow me fill 2, it only accepts 1.
You might have to check the form again. Your response to the question is right but did you click N/A in all the sections for other dependents?

To God be the glory, WES has replied me and said my evaluation has been successfully completed today. I thank you brother (@ Solomonwis) for your support. However I had 5.5 in listening (general) but my overall score is 6.5. Pls, I will like to ask if I could write academic to apply for EE cos I need academic for my professional registration too or I have to re-write general.
The acceptable IELTS test for EE is GENERAL TRAINING (not Academic).

Please note that not so much attention is given to your overall score band like the score in each of the language abilities.

Thanks for your response and advise, please how long do I need to keep money in my account before printing out the statement for NovaScotia Nominees application.

Thank you.
You should at all times be ready to provide evidence that you have the required fund in your account. No specific time is given for this fund to be in your account. However, you must be ready to provide evidence at all time, even at short notice of the availability of this fund.

Please note that this fund cannot be borrowed and must be unencumbered by debt.

The above applies to applications forwarded to CIO in CIC.

Most PNP require applicants to show evidence of the availability of fund in the account for a minimum period of 3 months. The same applies to Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program.

Hello House. I am new here. Please I need explanation regarding this new Express Entry system. How does it work, what's the difference between the old method and Expres Entry and what are the docs required under the system. Thanks
The major differences between the old and the new program are:

1. You apply ONLINE with EE. In the old system, you send in paper documents to the centralized intake office of CIC in Nova Scotia Canada

2.Your points under EE is automatically calculated using the information supplied on the platform with a maximum score point of 1,200. Under the old system, your points is manually calculated {leaving space for error/miscalculation} using a grid with total score point of 100.

3. With the introduction of Express Entry, you get selected from a pool of candidates at intervals to be determined by CIC using a Comprehensive Ranking System {CRS} . The old FSWP selection was based on your ability to score a minimum of 67 out of 100 and your ability to send in your application before the cap of your eligible occupation is reached.

4. Under EE,no eligible occupation list and no cap limit. There used to be an eligible occupations list and cap limit under the old FSWP.

5.Most importantly, application under Express Entry is done online. You scan in all the documents required of you based on the personalized checklist that will be sent to you when you get an invitation to apply (ITA). Paper applications were sent to the Centralized intake office of the CIC under the old system.

The list is endless. Read for more here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp

Please edit your post, you can remove the screen shot as all your details are on there. Alternatively, you can blank out the details.

Hi all.
Is there any October 13th , 14th or 15th NOC 2131 applicant in the house.

My application was received at the CIC on october 14th and from that Google form, an October 16th application in my NOC has received a debit alert about a week ago.

What's the relative difference in debiting and arrival of PER.
By the way, I submitted with a bank draft my uncle helped me obtain from a bank in Canada and inserted into my package, before submitting.
I believe your demand draft is already encashed. You will get a PER soon.

Remain positive!

My wife is currently pregnant and I stated in the application that I will not initially emigrate with her. She and baby will join me later when I have settled because baby will be too young by the time the visa's are issued. Could that be the reason? I doubt that myself. I will send them an email and prompt them. What was your transaction description?
Since you indicated your spouse and child will not be accompanying you,CIC will not charge your account for both of them even though both of them will have to undergo medical examination with you while your spouse will have to provide Police Clearance certificate when required.

Please note it is extremely an arduous process trying to sponsor your spouse and child to join you in Canada if you don't include them at the initial stage. If your ultimate plan is for the whole family to immigrate to Canada, please send a CSE to Accra (if that's your visa office) informing them of your intention to include both your spouse and child as soon as you receive a PER.

Pals,

Please I still need help with my queries here.
I have an advanced diploma certificate of city and guilds of london institute, but unfortunately this institution/body do not issue academic transcript for student records(guess maybe becos it's an IVQ). Though they can confirm your certificate by writing to the requesting body. Please how do I go about my Wes evaluation,am scared Wes will not evaluate my certificate without a transcript sent to them. Has anybody in the house appleid for WES with a city and guilds diplomas before? Pls advice am losing time due to this.
You need to contact WES before proceeding with your evaluation. It appears C&G doesn't fall under the purview of what qualifies as formal educational training,a prerequisite for ECA.

Good day fellow nairalanders,
Please I need urgent answers to my enquiries.

1. I want to apply for the EE but there is a little problem.
I have a Bsc. In Biochemistry since 2010(which is not under the NOC category) but I have since been working as a Human Resources Assistant since 2011 (which is under the NOC category)with no work experience in my field of study.
Can I go ahead to apply based on experience and not based on certificate?

2. Would I still need to send my Bsc. Biochemistry certificate to WES considering the fact that I have no experience in this line and it is not listed under the NOC category?

I would really appreciate your responses.

Thanks
Please read and understand the instructions clearly...There are no listed eligible occupations any longer. You can apply as long as you have your IELTS and your ECA ready not minding your NOC (as long as it is under skilled type 0,A or B) or your work experience.

Skilled work experience

Your work experience must be:

at least one year (1,560 hours total / 30 hours per week), continuous full-time or an equal amount in part-time,
paid work (volunteer work, unpaid internships do not count),
in the same NOC skill type (0, A or B) ,
within the last 10 years, and
at skill type 0, or skill levels A or B of the 2011 National Occupational Classification (NOC).

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp

BEFORE you submit an expression of interest, make sure you have your IELTS test result and your ECA result as details of both will be supplied when sending in an application on Express Entry.

While filling the Express Entry form I was asked for my wife education and her language proficiency.
I don't want to use her educational credentials and I don't want her taking the IELTS test too.

What the best way to accomplish this.
You simply answer the questions relating to your wife's educational qualification(s)and language proficiency.

You can list your wife's educational background but state"NO" when asked if she has an ECA.

The same applies to the official language section.

This will ensure points are not awarded to your wife's educational qualification(s) and language ability.

Thanks Solomonwis and Damkollins.

Pls is it compulsory to submit Police report at this stage for provincial nominee application (knowing that you might still have to send it after you are invited to apply?)
Police report is absolutely unnecessary to apply to provinces in Canada for nomination.I know SINP has a space for Police clearance certificate but it is only necessary when you have issues with the law.You are bound to disclose this to the provinces.

@ Solomonwis and Damkollins,

I filled a CSE form that my address and visa office be changed as a result of my new status (F1 status in US) but I got the mail below as a response from ACCRA.

Dear Madam / Sir,

This is in response to your email (see below).

Under Canada ’s Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and Regulations, file transfers are carried out only for reasons of program integrity and not at the request of the applicant or at their designated representative. Visa offices are not required to transfer applications for permanent or temporary entry to Canada .

Visa applications are to be reviewed by officers with the local knowledge and expertise necessary to conduct an effective case review.

We have examined your request for a transfer of your file and determined your application will be more effectively assessed by keeping your file in ACCRA.

If you do not wish to continue processing your application in ACCRA you may withdraw your application. You must then send a written and signed withdrawal request to this office. If you have paid the Right of Permanent Residence fee, it would be refunded.

If you chose to withdraw your application and re-apply in OTTAWA you must submit new application fees and your file will go to the end of the processing queue.

For a list of countries and corresponding Canadian visa offices, go to: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions.asp .

At this time your file will continue to be processed in this office.

Please be advised that your address has been updated accordingly.

Regards,

My question is what if Accra requires me to send in a new PCC? How will I do that as I am now here in the US

Thank you
Unfortunately,as it stands you would have no choice but to continue processing your permanent visa application in Accra.

Securing a new PCC from Nigeria even when you are outside Nigeria is not a difficult task. All you need is your finger print, passport photograph and your passport bio data page, the rest can be done in Nigeria.I would advise you start the process of collecting the PCC form, fill (without putting a date) and send to trusted relatives/friends in Nigeria who would take it down to the appropriate quarters in Nigeria at the right time for processing.

I made my express entry profile and I have entered into the pool.. But there are no fields to enter your dependent children information... Im kinda confused about it...
Express Entry is just an Expression of Interest not an application for permanent residence. When you eventually get an ITA (invitation to apply),you will submit all of your family details in the prescribed forms in accordance with a personalised checklist that will be forwarded to you by CIC.

So no cause for alarm.

Thanks Solomonwis. Apologies for the tardiness in thanking you for such valuable information. Please I have another question. I just filled my Express Entry Profile on the CIC website and there was a question on whether I had a UCI or not, since I indicated that I had submitted a FSWP application previously. My FSWP application was submitted on 30/12/2014 and I am yet to receive a UCI. Will it be wise to say I have not submitted a previous application before? I observed that when I indicated NO, the website did not ask for UCI. Please assist.
Since you don't have a UCI,you should click NO and move on to continue the registration.

Ok what about the visa office cause on a forum I saw comments that people were given visa offices that were not what they choose and for us that filled the New generic form and the option of choosing our visa office was not there .Do you think we would be taken to visa offices that have less work load
The game plan now is to forward applications to visa offices with less applications to reduce the work load pressure on some visa offices. This means that applications can be forwarded and processed in any of the visa offices of the Citizenship and Immigration Canada and the counterfoil printing will be done at the nearest visa office to the applicant.

However, applicants who have reasons to request for processing of application at the closest visa offices to them will have to request for transfer citing reasons (such as "disability" if this is proven to impede application processing).

CIC is running a seamless,real-time process and it has started from when visa office box was removed from the Generic Application form.

All,

Over the last days / weeks, CIC must have received tons of applications. I perceive that a lot of caps will be filled during this period, what are the implications of this for the last set(s) or batche(s) of applications received? Any thoughts / insights?
No one can say for sure, not even people who work directly with CIC. All you can do is WAIT. As you wait, you might want to give Express Entry a try.

Saskatchewan will be accepting applications for provincial nomination (a key selection determining factor in the new immigration system,EE)from January 2nd,2015. Once you gain assurance that you merit a PER under FSW Class, then nomination will not be a challenge as long as your occupation is listed in the"Occupations in Demand" of the province.

Until you receive alert from your bank of being charged for the application processing fee,you will not receive any form of communication from CIC.

Watch out for changes on the CIC website today.
