It's been a long time I laughed in Swahili...! cheesy cheesy cheesy

Your definition of "security" is funny..I hope you are not running away from paying for some mortgage.... grin grin grin

In your own house (paid for by cash),you can be robbed by product of a failed system, maimed and killed! So I doubt if owning your own house/having a roof over your head is the true definition of "security"

Why give out to the lady? Is it only intelligent people that must thrive? How do you know she is not financially successful?
The lady is simply moaning about the way of life of the people which is a fact!

The way of life here is indeed depressing to say the least. I have lived here for over 20 years and I feel exactly like that lady. No place like Naija I swear.
Question is, did it take you over 20 years to realize the fact that there's no place like naija?

Hello guys

Pls I am trying to do my credential assessment with WES for both my bachelor and masters degree. I am required to post both certificates to them. I have the certificate for my bachelor degree but statement of result for my masters program. But my school can make the transcript available.

My question is if I can submit the statement of result.
Certificate would be issued whenever the school does convocation.

Just looking to increase my points.
See below response :

I had my OND and Degree credentials verified by WES. What I submitted was the degree certificate and the OND Statement of result, and both were honour them. Provided your school provides verification and transcript when required by them, I don't think you should have any issues.

The date the reference letter was issued is not requested while registering for EE, it's only employment duration dates that are requested and as such, what is important is to ensure that the letter reflects those dates, when your company issues you the letter is not an issue
Let me help you..

Nobody talks about the date the employment reference was issued but there must not be any discrepancy between dates of employment. There are bound to be discrepancies regarding actual date of employment and the dates filled in the EE application portal. The resultant effect is for the CRS to award points that is not well deserved.

If you have all documents handy at the time of applying, you save yourself the headache of making "innocent" mistakes! Many people will not remember the actual date (month, year) of employment at the time of registration especially past employment so it cost next to nothing to have the documents handy.

am not talking about peoples attires. am saying white people are robotic and expect everyone to be robotic or else you will have a hard time. you have to kill your exuberant spirit to fit in . you have to be stiff and wooden. but i guess you wouldnt understand because i dont think you have lived abroad before. now me myself ? i have never had a problem adapting to this way of life because i was born here and i am naturally a subtle person and i try to be as sophisticated as i can be. thats my nature. however as i get older i yearn for a culture where people express themselves more. where people can express their spirituality. this why i am returning to naija. wink
You will be received with open arms but make sure you don't join the bandwagon.

It all boils down to the same thing, you got tired of "home" abroad and you find "home" in Nigeria suitable, that's why you are returning (not returned) to naija. To some other, they got tired of "home" in Nigeria and they find "home" abroad suitable - To each his own!

To look back and condemn the same place that was magnanimous enough to accommodate you for the period that you were in there isn't fair!

you miss the point. these are not poor nigerians. they are upper middle class to middle class. however if you have grown up in nigeria past a certain age, ill say about the age of 20, before you leave for abroad, it is a spiritual culture shock that you can never understand. people miss the familiarity of culture and foods and the parties and celebrations and the atmosphere. over here it is a sterile atmosphere and you are supposed to be quiet and subtle at all times. if you speak a little loud people frown at you. you are supposed to be sterile, quiet, composed. you are not allowed to show too much emotions here or you can be arrested and taken for mental evaluation. and when you walk you are supposed to walk with a sense of purpose or you will be arrested for suspicious activities. see you dont understand. when you have lived in a vibrant and exuberant atmosphere like nigeria, it is very hard for you to be spiritually satisfied in the west. it is not a monetary thing. it is spiritual and cultural. let me give you an example. this indian man came to america a few days ago to help his son take care of his grandson. he thought he was still in india. he came out of the house and was walking around the neighborhood with no sense of purpose, just relaxing admiring the houses etc. well people called police on him. the police came and beat him up and paralyzed him. this is what people miss about their home countries. the video of the indian man is below

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmhJjKia2TY
Bro, this could have happened anywhere even in India.

Shock is part of life. It could be cultural shock (and this knows no boundary neither does it understand mileage/distance), organisational shock, whatever shock it is. Don't misinterpret what fate brings to what moving to another country brings.

The sad reality is so many people are spiritually and culturally detached from Nigeria. How many people do you see in traditional attire on the streets of Nigeria? Even our pastors no longer put on the cassock and robes, they put on the most expensive suites, jackets from the western, advanced nations!

Many people are already spiritually and culturally living outside Nigeria but physically in there....

and what is the reality at home ? i implore you to take a trip to california or chicago and you will see up to 1 million homeless people living on the streets. homelessness in america is up to 50 million people. people are living in bushes called tent cities. you never jam at all. you think the condition in nigeria is bad ? take a trip to wilson and clarendon in chicago every evening and you will see thousands of hungry men queuing for bread and soup from salvation army trucks. this is the only food they will eat for the day. listen man. i am still in the first few lines and i can see your flawed way of thinking already. listen, if you are worried about other people being poor around you, maybe if you lived very modestly and dont flash your wealth in their faces they would not feel so bad about their conditions. the problem is not so much that the poor are extremely poor, the problem is the rich people flaunting their wealth in their faces because no matter the poverty in nigeria, there is always food clothing and shelter ( even if it is face me i face you ) and thats all a man needs in life. food clothing and shelter. so you not wanting to return home because of other peoples conditions is no excuse. just make sure when you come you live very modestly. drive a small golf car instead of a benzo or bmw. the problem with nigerians is their ostentatious tendencies. this is what causes the discomfort in society at large
Quoting from the above:

brother, you and i know that if you poll 10,000 nigerians in canada and give them this option. you can either remain in canada or you can pack your bags tomorrow and return to nigeria and when you get to nigeria we will have 2 houses signed over to you as your property. the 2 houses are a gift to you for returning home. one of the houses you live in with your family and the other you use for rent to feed yourself. you and i know all 10,000 nigerians in canada will be on the next flight smoking out of canada back to nigeria. you and i know this if we are going to be truthful with ourselves. now this woman and her husband have properties and they are trying to sell it to go to canada . does that make sense to you ? lmao. really ?
Nigerian mentality!

Let me school you a bit in economics.

There are parameters with which wealth(or if you will, being rich) is measured. It is not measured by the number of houses you have, not by the quantum of physical resources at your disposal. It is measured by the level access to welfare, it is called welfarism economics. It looks at the aggregate/macro rather than micro economy.

You can't say you are better of when more than 10,000 are worse off. A typical Nigerian thinks he's better when he has more money in his account or more physical resources at his disposal than his 10,000 neighbors.

Many of us Nigerians (especially the political class and some so called business men) are so selfish that we care less about our next door neighbor. We steal to stupor. We steal our own money, steal our neigbor's, steal our future generations money and brandish the best that money can buy to oppress neigbors - By so doing, we destroy institutions that should promote welfarism and the attendant adverse effects, we are all living witnesses in Nigeria.

Now that is what you rarely find in most advanced countries (I have since stopped referring to them as developed countries). That is the attraction to most advanced countries. Welfarism is at the heart of their policies and programs. It is not out of place therefore to get attracted by such policies hence the OP wanted something much more than physical resources. I see a number of people are so alarmed at wanting to throw away physical resources for "peanuts" offered by the welfare programs in advanced countries. We are so delusional (apologies for the word) that we rarely see an egalitarian society as what the norm should be. We promote wealth (not welfarism), not minding the source.

I would rather ask the OP to take calculated risk (because it is worth taking) rather than discredit societies that are better off than ours in terms of policies. Many of us would not have been attracted to things(by this, I mean welfare policies outside Nigeria) if we have these at home. Remember, home is where you are at peace with yourself. You can be at home in the midst of war, after all to each his own! If you are uncomfortable with Nigeria being "home" to you, please redefine, your "home", find a perfect match and make the move, calculating your risks along the way! A life without risk is not worth living!

I ask @sukkot again, where in the world are you and what do you do presently and I'd tell you that for you to discredit advanced countries on the basis of it being too "cold", too "hot", "windy" or whatever nomenclature you choose employ to discredit better societies, it shows you are painting an unreal picture. If you are not in Nigeria (as some of your posts seems to suggest),I ask wherein lie your patriotism, fairness and objectivity in the subject matter?

you dont get it. life is not about having a roof over your head and a lil car to drive. your spirit has to be nourished and happy too. what you have is called poverty mentality. i didnt go to canada looking for opportunities. i was young and was heavily into the NBA and most especially vince carter when he was with the toronto raptors. i was in toronto during the 2000 slam dunk contest when vince did that crazy dunk. i came for basketball. to be close to the raptors. come to find out after 2 months in the place, it was like hell. the snow on the street was like 10 inches. the cold was brutal. everyone looked miserable. black people there had no glow whatsoever. it was very depressing. i had to escape before i get depressed. i remember the streets though lol. bloor. spauldina, younge, etc etc
Which country are you presently?

How do you describe how "your spirit being nourished and happy"?, by looking at people's countenance and making a "safe" conclusion?

People make the most of nature, weather inclusive. Do you know anything about the desert called Dubai? Do you know what the weather/temperature reads in that place? DO you know how beautiful the "desert" is now?

He doesn't need employer's letter to get in the pool, he won't exactly need it until he gets ITA, and any other document is not requested to get into the pool until you get ITA
Yes, he needs the employment reference.

Whatever you submit at the time of your application(or claim to have) will be the same to be presented at the time of your visa application(after the issuance of ITA). If there is any contradiction between your work reference and what is submitted (especially the date),you stand the risk of being rejected and being banned for 5 years.

Whatever will make you have your ECA result and IELTS result handy at the time of your application should make you have all other documents ready except of course Police Clearance Certificate which expire after 3 months of issuance.

To guide against "Innocent mistakes",it is advisable you have all your details (including work references) ready at the time of submitting your details on EE.

There's nothing like "....a well detailed result", the ECA result is standardized by CIC. You get the result in almost the same format.

Oga Solomon/Dam

Please guide me on how to reg for my CIC account, I have done the eligibility and they assigned a ref no to me.

Thanks
With the reference number, you can create a profile on EE.

Step 1: See if you may be eligible

You can use our online tool, Come to Canada, to see if you meet the criteria to get into the Express Entry pool. It will take you about 15 minutes.

You will need your language test results, your NOC skill type or level described above and your Education Credential Assessment (ECA).

When you get to the end, a reference number will show on the screen. Write it down. You will need it later when you go to build your profile.

Step 2: Build your online Express Entry profile

If you get a positive result from Come to Canada, it will send you to MyCIC. If you do not already have a MyCIC account, you will need to create one. Then you will fill out an Express Entry profile to tell us about your:
•identity
•contact information
•education in more detail
•work experience in more detail
•language
•family who would come with you to Canada (dependants)

You will need:
•your passport or travel document (or other national identity document, if you do not have one of these)
•your NOC job title and code (see Before you start, above)
•your language test results (either IELTS, CELPIP or TEF)
•your Educational Credential Assessment result, if you have one (see Before you start, above)
•a copy of your written job offer from an employer in Canada, if you have one
•a copy of your provincial nomination, if you have one, and
•your personal reference code from the Come to Canada tool, if you have one. (It looks like this: JM1234567890. We use it to bring the answers you provided in the tool into MyCIC so you do not have to answer the questions again. If you go to the profile builder directly through MyCIC, you will not have one.)

To create your Express Entry profile

1.Follow the instructions to create a MyCIC account if you do not already have one. The system will give you a MyCIC number that you will use each time you sign in.

2.If you have a personal reference code from the Come to Canada tool, enter it when it prompts you. If you do not have a code, go to Step 3.

3.Enter your personal details, work experience, education, etc.
(Note: You may exit the profile at any time. Your information will be saved. But, if you do not complete the Express Entry profile in 60 days, you will not be able to submit it and will have to start again.)

4.Submit your profile online.

If you meet the Express Entry criteria, including the requirements for at least one of the three immigration programs, you will be accepted into the Express Entry pool of candidates. If you are invited to apply for permanent residence, we will tell you at that time which program to apply under.

Important: Submitting an Express Entry profile does not mean you have applied for permanent residence, or that you will be invited to. You have to be invited to apply by CIC, and will then need to give us more information in your application for permanent residence.

Register with Job Bank

To finish your Express Entry profile you must register with the Government of Canada’s Job Bank if you do not already have:
•a valid job offer, or
•a nomination from a province or territory.

Job Bank is an easy, online job search tool which will connect you with employers and jobs in Canada based on your skills and experience.

If you do not register with Job Bank within 30 days your Express Entry profile will expire.

Please don't act on the response given to another applicant. You have nothing to really worry about. You can always inform your local visa office anytime communication is open. Once you sent a CSE and you got auto response confirming safe receipt of your message,be rest assured that they already have your message.

You can send a reminder once there's any communication from your visa office. If your visa office is in Accra, please send your CSE either on Monday morning or Friday morning (based on observed trend, they seem to respond on those days).
