British born Nigerian midfielder Eberechi Eze under pressure to play for Super Eagles
Opera News
Eberechi Eze 21 a British born Nigerian football star has been under much pressure to switch sides and play for the super eagles of Nigeria. On the 5th of October 2018, he was called to the English national under 20 team with his match debut on the 11th of October that resulted in a 2-1 victory against Italy.
The Super Eagles' coach Gernot Rohr and the Nigerian football federation president Amaju Pinnick are hopeful that he can make a significant difference in the super eagles if he chooses to switch allegiance to Nigeria.
Eberechi Eze currently plays for the Queen's Park Rangers QPR, his midfield skill is comparable to the Nigerian football legend ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha. Eze is a midfield maestro delivering impressive results for his QPR side. He scored 12 goals in the 2019/2020 season. Amaju Pinnick is very confident that Eze will decide in favor of the Nigerian Super Eagles having trained with the super eagles before.
To further pressure the youngster, overtures have been made through his parents for him to switch sides. The playmaker is not in a hurry to decide for or against as he's still engrossed with his role in QPR though Leeds targets him to enable their return to the premier league.
QPR has valued him at twenty million pounds but fears that his value may drop because of the pandemic which has reduced the spending of clubs

NFF Lines up International Friendly Matches for Super Eagles, Super Falcons
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has lined up international friendly matches for the former African champions, Super Eagles, and their female counterparts, Super Falcons,
Amaju Pinnick, President of the Nigeria Football Federation, disclosed this on Thursday.
Pinnick assured that the NFF would prioritise for now, getting top grade friendly matches for the Super Eagles and the Super Falcons as well as the qualification of the U17 and U20 women national teams for their various FIFA World Cup competitions.
He said: “CAF has written to inform us that the qualifiers for the U17 and U20 FIFA Women World Cups will hold in September and October.
“We are determined to prepare our girls well to qualify for both championships.
“At the same time, we are working assiduously to see that the Super Eagles and Super Falcons get quality opponents for friendly matches within the next few months.
“For the Super Eagles, we have an African team and a South American team on the cards.
“First and foremost, we have to get the Super Falcons a Head Coach of the highest quality possible.
“We are working on that as our consultants are already on it, and also working on the appointment of coaches for some other National Teams.
“On our part, we have ring fenced a sum of money to pay the Head Coach of the Super Falcons for a number of years to come.
“So that challenge is taken care of.”
On the issue of continuous trailing of players of dual nationality with a view to getting them to represent Nigeria, Pinnick stated clearly that only players with the keen interest and resolve would be encouraged, as Nigeria would not beg any player to represent her.
He said: “It is about ardour and fervour.
“If a player has decided for Nigeria and only want to be assured that he would be much welcome, we will come in and provide that assurance”

Openbusiness3:
oh God, I see what he did there. Let me break it down: Kanye is a good friend of Donald Trump. The most critical and loyal voting block of the Democratic Party are Blacks. At least 90% votes of American Blacks goes to the Democrats (yup, they still have that herd mentality, all-in-one direction, slaving away on the Democratic Party plantation, Democrat slaves of the mind). So with Kanye running as an Independent, he will split up the Black votes, and the Democrats will definitely come short with their usual Black heavy bloc votes, no more landslide votes from there. Trump still has the silent majority white folks on his side, and with Kanye splitting up the Black votes, Trump will destroy Uncle Sleepy Joe too easily. It will be a political mauling Chaiii! Well played Trump. Kanye West just gave Trump victory in a coded way. See better Friendship goals abeg ( ˘ ³˘)♥ MAGA for the win You have already announced the result. No need for election |

Joebie: Rohr throws Eagles camp open to NPFL players By Alex Monye 19 June 2020 | 4:15 am
If you are a home-based player and you believe you have the qualities needed to play for Nigeria, you now have the chance to convince the coaches with your skills. This is because Super Eagles’ Chief Coach, Gernot Rohr, has challenged players in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) to be ready for the assessment, which will begin as soon as club football returns in the country.
Home-based Nigerian players have been clamouring for inclusion in the senior national team, which in recent times has been the exclusive preserve of players playing outside the country. The change began with the Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) insistence that Rohr must go round the local venues to scout for qualified players for his team before he got a new deal.
Yesterday in Lagos, Rohr, who spoke through Super Eagles Media Officer, Toyin Ibitoye, challenged the NPFL players to up their game and prove they are as good as their overseas-based counterparts, saying he would move round the venues to pick the very best among them.
Ibitoye said the NFF and other stakeholders have made arrangements for adequate security for the German and his crew when they start touring match venues on scouting mission.
He added that although Rohr had in the past watched some games in the country, the new mission would ensure that he sees as many players as possible across the country.
“The players should get ready because Rohr will be at the NPFL league venues to assess them. There are no security fears as everything would be put in place to ensure he does his job in secured environments.”
On the clamour in some quarters for Odion Ighalo’s return to the Super Eagles, Ibitoye said the issue would be evaluated at the right time, adding that the coaches would do the best in the interest of Nigeria.

Joebie: I'm beginning to think the reason why some Nigerians are retiring their players prematurely in their head is because they think those players are using football ages. Yes ooo. That's why Rohr is insisting on having players SE players within the average age of 21/22 because he knows we lie about our ages. |

Edopesin: Mainz Manager Gives An Update On Taiwo Awoniyi Following His Nasty Collision
The former U-20 star was rushed to the hospital after a nasty collision in Mainz Bundesliga clash against Augsburg at the Opel Arena on Sunday afternoon
Mainz manager, Achim Beierlorzer, has confirmed that Taiwo Awoniyi suffered a severe concussion in the team’s 1-0 loss to Augsburg, but the Nigerian is now stable.
Awoniyi was handed his fourth consecutive start in the Bundesliga on Sunday, but he only lasted for twenty minutes as he had to be rushed to the hospital following a dangerous collision.
There were fears concerning his health, but Die Nullfünfer manager has now allayed those fears, saying Awoniyi is fine, although he had a concussion. Speaking after the game, which saw Mainz lose at home, Beirlorzer confirmed the concussion was serious, but the former Golden Eaglets star is now stable and can remember everything.

“Taiwo is conscious and responsive. He has suffered a severe concussion but can remember everything,” Bierlorzer said. The 22-year-old also confirmed is he’s doing fine as he was seen smiling in a video call after the injury.

It’s a relief for Awoniyi who is starting to make some progress at Mainz after a difficult start to the season. The former Gent star joined Mainz on loan from Liverpool last summer, but he struggled for game time with just six appearances before the league was suspended.
However, he’s enjoyed some sort of renaissance since the league resumed, which has led to reports that Mainz are considering signing him permanently.
