thekingsmen:Nigerians can be so parochial. So Fayose could not give an answer? Would this not be even in BBC news if they were arrested? The best place you can be safe is in police van. He is not entitled to police escorts and sirens? Conclusion: they in the van for security reasons. |
Tdro:Show video of this event so we can make up our minds! Entertainment industry is not a major govt responsibility anywhere in the world, especially in poor countries like us where there are heavy competing needs like energy, health, industries, employment. What did Buhari actually say about health? Poor health infrastructure was one of the reasons for his coup of 1983. |
Just ten days to the presidential election of March 28, a survey carried out by a National Think Tank Group, has predicted victory for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari. The two-page analysis of the survey, tagged: "Straw Prediction of 2015 Presidential Election", made available to Daily Sun by Dr. Peter Orji, gave Buhari/APC an estimated votes of 15.4 million and President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), 11 million. The researchers stated that they arrived at the figures after "a careful study of the demographics of Nigeria voting patterns, based on an unbiased analysis of how voters shall cast their votes." According to the group, Buhari would lead in the North-East, North- West, North-Central and South-West, while Jonathan would win in the South-South and South-East. The survey said Buhari would eventually have an upper hand going by heavy votes he would record in his catchment areas against Jonathan, who the survey said, would garner fewer votes in his areas of strength. However, unlike 2011, General Buhari, the survey said, "will secure substantial votes in the North-Central and greatly improve his showing in the South-East." The survey summed up the distribution of the votes across the zones thus: "North-Central, PDP, 1.73million, APC, 1.86million. North-East, PDP, 1.3million, APC, 2.55million. North- West, PDP 2.15million, APC, 5.65million. South-East, PDP 1.65million, APC, 650,000. South-South, PDP, 2,.2million APC, 1.7million. South- West, PDP, 2million, APC, 2.9million. FCT, PDP, 150,000, APC, 200,000. In summary, the survey revealed that, "the APC candidate will carry all the states in North-West and North- East and will win marginally in North- Central," saying, "the margin of victory for Gen. Buhari is a staggering 4.4million votes and it is impossible for President Jonathan to close such a margin." What would boost Buhari's victory in the North-East and North-West, the poll explained, would largely be due to expected increase in the voters' turnout, "whilst the turnout in the South-East and South-South is likely to decrease. The simple explanation, according to the group, "is that the North-East, North-West and South-West zones feel that their sons, Buhari and Osinbanjo, are on the APC ticket and considering the number of votes accruing to the three zones, Jonathan will find it absolutely impossible to fill the gap." While concluding, the group said that, "because of the postponement that occurred five weeks ago, a repeat this time will not go down well with Nigerians who very likely will accuse the administration of having its hand in disrupting the process, and because of the tight timelines to avoid a possible constitutional crisis a shift in the elections this time may become impossible to contemplate." This research group is not credible because they failed to include questions on who is best to deal with corruption in Nigeria, an important issue for this nation and in this election. They also failed evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of both parties to come to a reasonable conclusion. They also failed to clearly state how they sampled the population to answer the questions. They failed to tell us the result of the definite question; if the election were to hold today who would you vote for? |

Obasanjo is right! The battle is won in the field but the war is won on the negotiation table. He just echoed my thoughts. |
David Mark is a self-centered man who said telephone is not for the poor. Imagine how he underdeveloped Nigeria when he embezzled funds meant for improving niger state and the communications ministry. Shame on David Mark! |
I saw this on Facebook, and I thought hmmm...a bit of male chauvinism here. NL members what do you think? Is this practicable.

EggovinMma:Some single women who are used to this kind of lifestyle become unfaithful wives with eventual divorce. Hope you don't become one of these. |
leezbebe:Did she have any children for him? |
More details needed to make a proper judgement on this issue. Firstly, any children between them? How close was the relationship, the girl never knew the guy has a girl to marry, so as to opt out? How was her character, was she faithful herself? Did she know the man's family members after 11 years of a relationship? |
25,000 pastors and evangelists in the South-West are to hold a special prayer session for the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, and his running mate, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, on Tuesday, at Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos. According to the coordinator of the programme, Bishop Kayode Williams, the ministers of God will come together to seek divine support for Buhari and Osinbajo. Williams, who revealed that the spiritual exercise, tagged "Divine Restoration of Nigeria Glory", is being organized to disabuse the minds of Nigerians about the wrong impression being created about Buhari. "We are four spearheading this prayer session: My humble self, Rev. Moses Iloh, Archbishop Magnus Atilade and Deacon Ayo Opadokun. We are against wrong information being fed members of the public about Buhari. For those of us that followed the track record of Buhari while he was in public service, we know that this man is not a religious bigot. Buhari is an upright man and not anti-Christ as some people want to portray him," he declared. While describing the prayer session as a unique event, Williams implored Nigerians not to use religion to confuse people or to divide Nigerians. "First and foremost, we should see ourselves as one. We are all Nigerians. We should not allow politics to divide us or cause bitterness among us. We should love one another. It is wrong for anybody or group to say Christians are against Buhari - to us, Buhari is a righteous Nigerian, and Christianity preaches righteousness, and we want righteous people in leadership, and this is why we are organizing this prayer for Buhari to be the next leader of this country", he stated. While reminding Nigerians that the country is a secular state, Williams implored Nigerians to be tolerant of one another's faith, views and opinions. The cleric revealed that the programme will have in attendance as special guests Buhari, and Osinbajo and other eminent personalities Source. http://odili.net/news/source/2015/mar/9/312.html |
But why were the original Arabic words removed? This is what is annoying them. What were the Arabic words? The govt was insensitive to the feelings of these people. There are a lot of English words on the notes why not some few arabic words treasured by about half of the population of Nigeria. It's intolerance that may have triggered the removal of the words. |
I support the govt include some Arabic words on our currency notes as long as they are good words. Arabic is a beautiful language and I happy to learn it if there is a teacher, though I am not a Muslim. We got the numerals from Arabic -1, 2, 3 and so on. The concept of zero, 0 , is also of Arabic origin. Many stars in our galaxy are named in Arabic too eg Azarberjan, Deneb, Aquila. |
Let the ladies decide. A poor girl has no right to marry too! |
sufido123:Epicurean ideas made a lot of sense and punctured holes in religious beliefs that were limiting God to human like qualities. The fact is what is called evil is a concept of our cultural groups. There is nothing evil or good, so God will not control anything that you do. It's your world, do as you like. So God is not malevolent. Use the resources to evolve and survive till you acquire equality to God. If you die and run extinct that's your problem. Helping you along the line would be unfair to the other creatures for it is survival race. All the knowledge and materials are all in the universe for you to use. God is tge source of everything; nothing goes of existence, it only converts form or to energy. All exist for ever and so does God. He does not communicate with you in your language. He is too small and too big, cannot be comprehended; he has no name; no beginning no end. For all begin and end with it. It is neither alive nor dead. It is the summation of all that has been and will be; all thought, forethought, knowledge and foreknowledge is Grod; we in him and him in us; it makes no rules ; order and disorders are human limited concepts. |
Oduduwaboy:What is consciousness? How do brain nurotransmitters, nurons and other elements inside lead to awareness, capacity to introspect, plan, save data and process them to make sense come into existence? But the big question is why are here. |
DProDG:Our belief that God created the earth for us is a pointing to our narcissism. Nature gave all creatures equal chance through evolution to develop the best qualities to help them survive. For now man is just the new kid on the block ; others have gone. New ones would come when man goes. Man have existed for over two million years ; call him homo erectus, homo habilis, homo ergaster, Homo sapiens, they were all humans. We simply lack the humility to accept them as our ancestors. A poser: did God create man in his image or man created God in our own image? |
macof:How about the Big Bang? Something must have existed outside space and time that kicked off the expansion and creation of energy, hydrogen , lithium and some beryllium with space and time. Quantum physics adopts some of tge principles that religion talks about. For example existence of energy and particles in two places at the same time; achieve speeds faster than light; come into existence from nothing. The universe appears disorderly but there us a background of order and purpose. The descriptions of gods and spirits are primitive origins of quantum physics. |
macof:Science claimed that the universe came out of nothing about 14 billion yrs ago. There was no space and no time before the Big Bang. So what led to the Big Bang? There may have been a concentrated infinitesimal point of energy, perhaps a previously collapsed black hole, signifying the foreverness of existence. Thus God may have no beginning too. |
Jameselias:That's simple question. Half of you existed an ovum/egg in your mum and the other half was a sperm in your dad. |
Horus:Good observation! Imagine wastage of millions of sperms in order for one to fertilise an egg. Until we are able to understand the reason, and not only the how we came to exist we cannot understand the concept of god. Attributing existence of things to god signifies our mental laziness and frustrations. |
The SW has the VP in the APC camp if Buhari wins. The obas May influence uneducated rural folks thereby selling their birthright. But remember vast majority of Yorubas are urban dwellers who want their tribesman to be VP. |
menix:Absolutely!! Remember the boys are adolescents with no sophisticated sexual feelings. Most would concentrate except for some other reasons. |

OYAY:The pastor claimed Holy Spirit directed him. To Bleep these women. What say you? |
The women were stupid but the pastor requires a psychiatric assessment on his account of Holy Spirit directing him to sexually abuse these women. Op they say this case happened two yrs ago, what's the outcome of the case? Please find out and let's know about it. Thank you. |
Truckpusher:He is simply confused about what to do with her! |
Mrs Jonathan is so bush and uncultured. She knows no respect for herself and her elders. I think the fear of being punished by buhari's anti corruption programme come May 29 has led to her frontal lobe shutdown and loss of her senses. She can't bear to think of herself and her husband in Kirikiri prison soon. |
Erect or non-erect measurements? |
