Why not just explore the airport? Then find one corner and sleep afterwards or gist if you're not alone. I think layovers less than 8 hours can be endured especially if it's your first time in the airport and you don't have money for direct flights. Not easy if you're alone sha but what can one do?

You're in a very tight situation but you will be fine. What I will do: I will write to my school/employer informing them of the challenge and what I intend to do, also write to UKVI and tell them the reason why I don't wanna rectify it in Nigeria. Then, go ahead and travel with it that way and hope no one spots the little error of one letter. This is an audacious journey so I gotta be bold and know my rights. I didn't make the error and it is obviously my name, just a wrong letter, then I pray the plan works.

So, it's better op rectify the issue before it gets complicated.

I agree he should fix it if he can. But no one cares about validating the each letter in an old vignette after you have used it. If you enter UK, you can literally throw away that passport booklet and go get a replacement. I lost my Passport the day I stepped into the UK, I got a replacement. What business do I have with the vignette in the lost passport now?

If you enter the UK, you don't need the vignette for anything again.

If it's the vignette, you may be fine. However, try as much as you can to rectify it if possible to avoid stories that touch.

Thank you for your reply. The issue of getting a job. I dont know how possible it is to get employment now that I am pregnant as I do not want all the pressure on my husband.

I don't even know how to cope with three kids especially here. I'm also worried about child care and expenses. We had plans of working towards a tier 2 but I am so uncertain of somethings at the moment.

My dear, you don't have to be so worried. I wish I can tell my UK story, maybe I would someday. Pregnancy for a married woman is a blessing, okay? We can't give much advice because everyone's situation is unique but I can encourage you with my full chest that you will be fine.

My advice: Your husband should focus on working hard for the next one year while you focus on the kids, schooling and your pregnancy. Of course, your husband will also help with the kids as much as he can. If you're able to squeeze out time, you could get a job as well but it's fine if you don't work especially if childcare is expensive in your area. Track and monitor your expenses very closely to be able to save where you can: basically live low-key for the next year. Have fun in an affordable way to keep you upbeat: take walks, etc.

This is my personal advice to just encourage you. Many people are in your shoes, you're not alone, okay? Sending you love, joy and light.

Buy a ring for your small finger. Then wear it on your finger in her presence, then playfully try it on her ring finger and see the fit. If it's too small, you know to buy a size bigger or two sizes bigger or if it's too loose, you buy a size less or you may be lucky and it would be perfect fit.

If she wears rings, better for you, steal one and take to a ring shop for measurements.

You can buy her an affordable jewelry set: necklace, earrings and ring. Make sure it contains a ring. You can check the fitting and know what size to buy for engagement.

Remember to tell the shop where you buy the engagement ring that you will come and exchange it if it doesn't fit.

To be fair, this is the right thing to do. If you don't have "liver" like me, just pay the £15 or so monthly, it's not that big a deal. Tomorrow, you may buy a smart TV that comes with bbc installed. Many of them do.

Expand your search to Newport, Pontypool, even Swansea. I know someone who usually has apartments in Cardiff but at the moment, he only has a Studio Apartment. Cardiff Apartments go off the market very fast.

I sold USD at N685, remember. If I had sold at N700 or more, it would have been N845 or more per Pound. Lemonade rate at the time was N801.

Lemonade is good and simple for those who use it, no doubt. I have my personal reasons of not using it (Lemonade is wallet-based, not CBN compliant, etc) but it's no big deal really. I will use them if their rate is significantly better at any time.

Just FYI, I converted to USD and sold the USD at N685 this morning. It summed up to N828 per £ now. You have to remember that the Currency relate with each in other in different ways. USD, for instance, has a higher demand in Naija, so most times, converting to USD first would typically increase the value. Also, CBN gives N5 for every USD received.

So like I said, it could swing either way and it's not garbage in, garbage out.

The so-called official rate is fixed inside Emefiele's bedroom, so that one is beyond Abokifx.
It is long past time for the naira to be floated, had it been floated back in 2017 it would have found its level by now. Of course, the round-trippers can't let that happen.

Of course, there are so many such decisions that aren't rocket science, just that those to take the decisions lack sincerity so they would rather keep beating about.

Most times, no. Could swing either way but it's more about the convenience for me. If I send it to my USD Account in Nigeria, I can sell to my aboki easily through Bank Transfer in Nigeria. The other option is selling to someone here but since I'm not a trusted vendors like the known elders, that would be tough and stressful and I might not trust anyone I don't know to send them Pounds first. The third option is Lemonade but the low rate is doesn't interest me.

I was told to make payment of.£25 and £975 left as remaining balance. i called them they said i did the one of annual payment, i need to be paying £25 yearly, i told them i never knew, but the lady said that she can switch me to the one that does not pay annual. please i am confused bc she gave me benefit of the both accounts but honestly i don't understand any terms she used, she said £10,000 will give me 1.2% honestly i don't understand. i am been careful not to fall for late payment. kindly advice me on the best one to use for my level, i am just trying to build up my credit. i can't be paying £25 every year. kindly advice bc it is urgent let me rectify this problem. kindly find attached pic . Again, you're overcomplicating this whole thing. You obviously got a card with an Annual fee. If you think £25 is too much every year, which it isn't, then pull out and opt for the right card. Whether you will pay off the £25 first or not is left for the CC provider to decide. However, since you have spent £25 through the fee, ensure you pay the 10% minimum due of £2.5 or whatever it will when the time comes, better still pay off the full balance of £25 or whatever you would have spent by then.

I say £25 is not much because this is the Cashback Card where you get 5% back of your expenses for the first £3k or so, then it reduces to 0.75% or so. Meaning you spend £2,000 and the card gives you back £100. You even get £30 each time you refer a friend. If you ask me, it's a good deal for just £25 yearly.

I am moving to Coventry in 2 weeks time with my family of five on a tier 2 visa. Employer would assist in getting us accommodation while we pay. Please what are those things we should look out for in the rent terms. Is it wise to just pay for one month incase we need to move apartment or just stay put till we have gained a little ground?

Pls can someone who has lived in Coventry say something about the affordable areas and maybe a little advice as per settling down with family. Opening account, registering with GP etc.

I would have really loved if there is a little Coventry community one can familiarise with as it may be somewhat lonely in a new environment.

You don't have much worry, and I doubt if anyone will ask for rent of more than 1 month as rent is typically monthly. The contract, though, might state you gotta stay for minimum 6 months or 1 year. Since your Employer is getting it for you, that's soft landing. Some of us rocked Airbnb for 2 months before moving to renting. So, I'd say "Be careful with the contract, hope it doesn't bind you for long, and pretty much hope for the best". My first place was Electric Heating and my first Energy bill was £850 cos the Thermostat was on 30°c for the entire month (subsequent months kept dropping till we hit £80 in the Summer without Heating) so watch anything that has to do with heating: Boiler, Radiator, Iron, Cookers, Oven, that's what controls your Energy Bill.
