I see people still suffering and smiling. Always trying to justify buhari's action and inactions. This case is simple. Buhari has no economic blueprint, he is just following the blueprint of the previous administration. Call gej corrupt for all I care, we all know amaechi, tinubu, melaye, and even Buhari are subtly corrupt. Buhari didn't know where he kept his integrity when he worked as abacha's ptdf chairman. Buhari and co are big time hypocrites. Only APC zombies Will see buhari, tinubu, and co, and call them "incorrupt" politicians.

APC, no economic blueprint, just copy-copy.

My dear friend,
Common sense should always take precedence over politics.
Removal of SUBSIDY makes economic sense, irrespective of who is doing the removing.
It is,and has always been a political hot potato irrespective of who is doing the removal.

You are the one bringing senseless political overtones and innuendos and conjectures into this simple economic matter.

I don't envy you one bit, given that you're obviously suffering from cognitive dissonance, desperately trying to defend now what you supposedly faught against during GEJ.
Holding two contradicting views, one during GEJ and one during PMB is the dictionary definition of cognitive dissonance , a horrible, vexatious state of mind.

I truly don't envy you guys right now.
grin
Spot on! Thank you jare
PoliticsRe: The Notable Difference Between Jonathan And Buhari's Subsidy Removal by SonOfEl(m): 12:05am On May 13, 2016
No matter the damage control op tries to put up, it won't fly. The subsidy in 2012 had not even taken root, you guys were bringing trust issues. Read the old papers, I still have them. It was about gej, okonjo, sanusi and co making life more difficult for the poor masses, it was not a money trust issue, money trust issue was so so peripheral.

jpphilips:
You must be a child in 2012 to compare the events of 2012 with that of 2016.
Most sane people opposed subsidy removal in 2012 because the money was funding the inefficiencies of the govt against the true purpose of what the subsidy should be.

The situation today was necessitated by sabotage and I saw it coming, how can you Juxtapose both?
In 2012, oil sold above $100/bbl the govt paid vessels to supply crude to the refineries, they paid marketers to transport products round the country against fixing existing depots, they could hardly maintain their storage facilities, there was round tripping of our OPA crude oil and refined products. etc.
The govt at the time opted to pass the cost of all those inefficiencies to the people and sane people regected it wholely.

Fast forward to date, crude price has fallen below budgetary benchmark, even at that, Kachikwu fixed the refinery feedstock line twice in the last 6months.
The refineries were supposed to provide 40% of our consumption while the existing 60% will be sourced from the OPA now DSDP.

The militants bombed off the feedstock lines, grounded production that the govt was forced to return the marketers because they clearly lack the capacity to supply 100%
By bombing export lines our OPA was destroyed so NNPC has zero capacity to provide petroleum products for Nigerians.

Now for the marketers to import, they need forex to do that, where will CBN source forex from when they have bombed everything?
The minister has asked marketers to source forex from the secondary market that will attract a forex differential that the FG can not even afford to pay hence the subsidy withdrawal.

The FG is helpless in this case unlike the previous govt that lacked the sincerity to do the right thing.
Stop comparing apple with Oranges.

OP you came late. Only Edo people and some misguided SSners may clap for you, no true Niger Deltan will spew what you are vomiting.

Anioma is Igbo, upland rivers (obigbo, ndoki, egbema) are core Igbos, so what's the ish about Niger deltans? Your divisions can't work. Even ibibios, efiks and ijaws share the same liberation struggles with Igbos, so go to hell.

omonnakoda:
This may be true but it is an emotional not an intellectual or pragmatic one.

The answer lies in the potential consequences. This is a greater threat to Nigeria's existence and the reason is the Igbos have a greater profile and voice, they have been brutalized in world view before and a repeat will not be tolerated by the world. In short they are more important. What is sad is they cannot leverage their importance because of political naivety .......... ,in political terms they are Learners. There is nothing wrong with that if they have the self awareness and humility to chart a new path. I wonder if there is an Igbo word for Humility
Learners? Or that we don't do jungle politics that is very typical of Nigeria? There are Igbo leaders and lawmakers in many parts of the world, even in Lagos... So its obvious your analysis is terribly skewed

The annoying thing is that you guys are always tagging the Yoruba's as traitors but you Igbo's are also traitors if not the biggest!!! During the civil war you entered into the SS killed my people so that you can claim our lands then because of the oil.. The same SS you guys want to create an alliance with now...Do you think we don't know? The reason why we don't mention it any more is because we have moved forward... Igbos should learn to move forward and stop crying for something that happened over 50years ago!

The whole south is under threat by the Fulani's and it is time this stupiid Igbo vs Yoruba fight is put to an end and let's unite to fight this menace...Stop calling a kettle black when you yourself is a black pot!

Another chest beater on the loose.

Haveyou forgotten how they hoisted Fulani flag in Abia, rape.d women in Imo, desecrated Enugu a probably they were even the ones that nearly sacked Umuleri.

You are here beating your chest like king kong that you are. I thought you chest beaters were daring them to attack you!!!!
The hoisted flag story died naturally when the constituency members decided to investigate the matter. Am not justifying what one commenter posted that made other ethnicities look cowardly, I only feel the abia flag incident was not in away similar to the killings going on by the Fulani.

Is it arochukwu that would sit and won't retailiate to Fulani's madness? Or is it the ngwa people that won't roast them and their cattle alive for dinner should it ever occur in their communities? Or is it aba or umuahia that the Fulani's want to rampage? See eh, abia state is a flash point, such Fulani madness won't dare come close, and if it does, they and their cattle's should rest in peace RIP.

Bakassi boyz are deadly, but are they a better option for this Fulani malaise? What if the Fulani thing ends, what will keep them busy? I know bakassi boys, they started their operation from umuahia my home town back then during orji uzor kalu's tenure. I think we need a less bloodthirsty vigilante group, not bakassi.

Hagm0nd:
So the villagers knew they were to be attacked and they cant organise vigilante and arm themselves
imagine fulani telling the communities that their land belong to them for grazing, raping women and many more
and the slowpoke of a governor could only talk about prayer and fasting
this is what ipob should arise and confront not insulting yorubas
unless they are a bunch of cowards
Mumu read the post well before commenting. If Igbo's had retaliated, it would have been interpreted in another way....anyway, I blame the security agencies, they wanted it to happen.
