Busybody2:
Are the Bible verses being quoted to buttress their points - which rookie Christians like us are learning from - not in your own Bible? Like I said earlier I for one am not interested in the giant monsters side of the debate but it would be actually rude and selfish and self-centred of me to come out and tell people to shut up or tell them to only post the ones that would benefit me only, which is what some of you have been doing!!! What happened to the love? Evangelism should and can be conducted anywhere surely including on this thread as long as salvation is still free for all!!!

Not from a Christian background and stumbled into Christianity barely three years ago, so I recently discovered God has deposited a sizeable amount of these gifts being discussed on this thread in me, is it dreams/vision/revelation/is it the way I find it bemusing that people are always begging me not to talk and they tell me it is because God has done something to my mouth so everything I say comes to pass/I shared another dimension earlier on this same thread...In short I am a classic perfect example of that Bible verse that says "it's not by power nor by might but by the Spirit...".Infact if I say I know 15% of the Bible I would be lying, so why can't you people be tolerant enough to look the other way and free rookies like me to keep learning at the snail-speed we are learning. You keep insisting its argument and I keep telling you it's helping people like me develop in my walk with God, why are you people being so pedantic? Do you guys hold the monopoly on the most effective way of learning the word of God? Hian!!!

Late last year or so I got a call from home that osun is fed up of me, the following day I got another call from someone else that osun is angry with me, and sacrifices needs to be done for me...I blurted out whaaaattt/who is osun/where do I know he/she/it from/how can someone I don't know and have never seen be angry with me/arrant nonsense/I am not interested/I am a child of the Most High God/who are all these shameless things are they blind to the fact that even their master satan in under my feet in the name of Jesus/etc...in the end the osun thing fled just as it is written in the Bible that if we resist the devil it will flee..."Again it was the word of God that has been imparted to me in my dream such as "I have not given you a spirit of fear but of love, sound mind...I have not redeemed you with incorruptible things but with the precious blood of Jesus Christ, etc that helped..."

My Heavenly Father has done so much for me, all that I am is because of Him, and since my life of late has revolved around topics being discussed on this thread, nothing should be a barrier and stop people like me from participating in this thread, contributing as and when necessary and asking questions as and when necessary, etc, in order to perfect my walk with God.

What happened to live and let live? Is Joshua 1:8 not in the Bible: This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. This thread is on a forum and not one platform whereby people have to queue and take turns to talk, so if anyone ain't interested in what someone is saying they are free to skip the post/change the channel. Haranguing people and stiffling them from posting and heavily close-guarding and close marking people from posting the word of God is synonymous to bullying incase y'all don't know!

sorry for bullying you aunty rookie.
smh.

15 The Lord hath taken away thy judgments, he hath cast out thine enemy: the king of Israel, even the Lord, is in the midst of thee: thou shalt not see evil any more.

16 In that day it shall be said to Jerusalem, Fear thou not: and to Zion, Let not thine hands be slack.

17 The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.

Busybody2:
I and I am sure a few others deliberately overlooked your first two points calling people silly and making it look like everyone on this thread is deluded and thinks having these Spiritual gifts means the person has a 5-fold calling into ministry! Whereas if you had taken to read more than the five pages you said you read you would have seen everything you said was already covered.

But are you now denying you didn't write the 3rd point up there deriding and mocking people who cannot "deliver" themselves from bondage, sickness, demonic oppression, affliction, etc

I perfectly understand what I read Sir! No offensive punches or jabs are being thrown so people should be free to continue to debate/discuss/expound/expatiate on the HOLY BOOK aka the Bible in peace, that's not too much to ask! Thanks.

.....
people should rather discuss expound, expatiate on the aims, mission of this thread based on the bible. you guys should stop twisting things with multitude of words.
look at the Noah argument, somebody is obviously wrong but no party is accepting nada. even if you are right you can't force the word on any one. is this how you guys evangelize?

Busybody2:
I understand too Sir and was also trying to lighten your heightened mood. God desires for us all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of truth, so as long as there is no fight, there is nothing wrong in fellowshipping with our fellow brethrens in Christ and learning from them and rubbing minds with them.

2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness,

THIS!!! And this is the more reason it shouldn't be swept under the carpet. There is nothing wrong in sharing knowledge.

We serve one God yet like I raised earlier some of us Christians tithe whilst others don't believe in it, some Christian sects condemn women who wears trousers and earrings and braid their hair whilst some defend them that it's whats inside that counts, some believe in the trinity others don't, some believe in the once saved forever saved doctrine, a poster called donnie even came on earlier claiming anyone sick/suffering does not know God or something like that whereas the Bible states that longsuffering is one of the fruit of the Holy Spirit, and that we are to rejoice in tribulation, etcetera...

Fact of the matter is as long as issues like this continues to be swept under the carpet, it will always crop up in unusual places, so I see nothing wrong whereby this gathering of God's children to proclaim about the awesome wonder-working power of God cannot also be used as a platform to help each other in our quest to know God more, AFTERALL IT IS ONLY THIS SAME WORD OF GOD THAT IS THE ONLY WEAPON AND AUTHORITY WE HAVE TO DEFEAT SATAN AND HIS SLAVES/DEMONS!

I'm not asking anyone to sweep anything under the carpet...
go through my comments again

have you guys noticed how the no of monikers and guests viewing this thread has reduced?

if two of you have different interpretation to the same scriptural reference, then either one or both of you happens to be wrong.
....

can two walk together unless they agree? of all the arguments no one has accepted defeat. everyone's opinion is right. smh

10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

11 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.

12 Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.

It's the same here I have asked and asked but it's as if God is deliberately not answering me or maybe he will do so @ his own appointed time.

muttybabe & dumo1 do you remember the story of Daniel? 21 days thereabouts of fasting and prayer yet no answer...
... if no answer is forthcoming, there's something preventing your answers either internal or external.

26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

yea,I saw the thread,I red a bit but got discouraged because I've gone far to know there's no such thing as total deliverance,so the thread is not going to do much for me since what they say here is how to be free from demonic oppressions and possessions which won't happen

you believe so much in the knowledge you've gathered that's its blocking your view and surrender to God... from all I've read on your threads here on nairaland, it seems majority of the problem at present emanates from you.
what do you have to lose if you become completely free and begin to fulfill your desires/expectations. others have come out of deeper, darker pits.
I pray you experience the glory of God in your life in Jesus mighty name.

stardragon:
I always see myself in the secondary sch i graduated last seven yrs ago, in the dream doing one thing or the other.

note: a seminary school....

this usually denotes retrogressive or backwards forces. if that's the case you need to arise in prayers. but other events in the dream may denote something else.
try and describe one of such dreams for someone with the gift/knowledge to guide/counsel you aright.
stay blessed.

Nelkoko:

I desire we can also share experiences on Spiritual guidance (I mean how we have been led by the Holy Spirit in time past).

How can we differentiate our thoughts from that which is laid upon our hearts by the Spirit? I can't really say I have heard d audible voice of God but I have been guided through his inner witness and other means of guidance. Sincerely, I have missed it sometimes too. I thought I heard God only to discover it was my own voice / thought etc.

How can I clearly discern his voice from my own thoughts since He lays thoughts on my heart too and I later discover its him. I have had good results too... I mean so precise and accurate leadings which were of God but sometimes I miss it too.

I don't mean to derail the thread but want to learn. Bro Charles, Anas09, ccolins, nnamdiosu et al... Thanks

here's a thread that helped me a bit. I will appreciate if people here can contribute.

nnamdiosu:
now that im done with few explanations of the human spirit, let me explain on the spirt world itself.
1. In the begining (when God created adam and eve), BECAUSE MAN WAS PERFECT, MEN HAD UNLIMITED ACCESS TO THE SPIRIT WORLD. REMEMBER THAT THE BIBLE SAYS THAT GOD IS A SPIRIT? AND COMMUNICATION WITH GOD IS BASED ON SPIRITUAL BASIS. Adam could hear the voice of God walking in the garden, hear God, see God, communicate with God (because the bible says God brought the animals to him... all this are spiritual events)
Now, God told adam that ON THE DAY he eats of the forbidden fruit he shall die? see, God didnt mean physical death, he meant spiritual death. so the moment man fell, the ability to operate into the spiritual realm was cut off. since the moment till now, ALL AND I SAY ALL EXPERIENCES MAN HAS WITH/IN THE SPIRIT REALM MUST AND ARE CONTROLLED OR BROUGHT ABOUT BY GOD (THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT). Now anyone who can enter the spirit realm at ease, or by self will any time he or she wants is DOING SO BY OCCULT MEANS. i can't explain futhur because of time, but if u need more insight notify me and i'll explain.

2. the spirit world is like an original photograph while the physical world is the exact identical negative. (remeber those olden days that people used to print with analog cameras that require u develop those long photographic stripes called negative?) the spiritual world is very beautiful. no dust, no dirty. its wonderful. now recall those cartoons we watch e.g tom and jerry that anything a cartoon character thinks of it happens immediately> thats how the spiritual world operates. when battling forces in my dreams, just thinking of an action and i'm doing it. other believers think of swords and immediately it appears in their hands. THATS WHY WE SAY MANY TIMES, PARENTS SHOULD BE CAREFUL ABOUT CARTOONS CHILDREN WATCH. MANY, MANY ARE WINDOWS TO THE SPIRIT REALM. In the spirit realm if u look at a book, immediately u can understand all about the book. see, people in the spirit realm there is no impossibility normally. all is about faith or believe. e.g spirit beings know all languages, you can see in all direction at once, e.t.c

3. there are laws in the spirit realm that even God himself obeys (BUT GOD CAN CHOOSE TO OVER RIDE THOSE LAWS ANYTIME HE WANTS FOR REASONS BEST KNOWN TO HIM) E.G give and it shall be given unto you is a major law. another is the law of love (cant explain becos of time), what ever you sow you shall reap (good or bad). so if a christian prays for financial favour and yet doesnt give to people around him (whether time, talent or money), it will be hard to receive from God

4. the spirit realm controls the physical realm. everything you see in the physical realm has a spiritual counterpart. e.g your certificate in your house has a spiritual counterpart somewhere in the spiritual realm (thats why many people dream of their certificates being stolen and immediately after they can't work or get a job) note, real spiritual people don't fight physically, they take it to the spirit realm. thats why its dangerous for a christian to be quarreling or fighting. especially with people that keep silent and say little things like...we will see, ok. e.t.c
lets ponder on this, i will add more later by Gods grace.

you can already be sure I want you to elaborate... especially on 1&3. maybe when you less busy.
thanks for the info.

I swear it wasn't me.

nnamdiosu:
exactly.Infact there are some mysteries about the spirit man that I can't share Becos I don't want to start another argument . but just understand

1. if you are a Christian and specially involved in spiritual warfare, God uses your spirit to do battle almost every night. most dreams we have of spiritual warfare in dreams are actually real (in the spirit realm)

2. there are so many things your spirit can do that u aren't aware of. your spirit can sense danger by the power of the holy spirit and tell you. ever wondered y u see a very nice person for the first time but secret alarm bells go off in ur mind or spirit?

3. your spirit man prays to God, speaks in tongues and worships God without y being aware at night wen u r slepping. last night I was leading worship in my dream in church. as I was changing to a new song in my dream I was waking up still singing at exactly the same pace and line. many times I'm dreaming of something else and wake up singing. note that I'm not a choir member and I don't sing in church. ....more later

pls share the mysteries... I'm interested in learning. wouldn't mind if you pm them to me.

Anas09:
I was so confused and embarrased. What was I going to tell my parents, that I brought two suitors home?
In that confussion I left them there to get my phone so that I'll call my love away from the other impostor. But while was dialing his number. There's was this explosion. I heard someone shout, Volcanic eruption run. I ran, ran as fast as my legs could carry me. I ran so far away, then remembered him. I stopped and started crying. I felt he had died. I woke up, wen I checked time, it was passed 2am
Lol. He married someone else between christmas and new yrs of last year.
