Christianity Etc › Re: Sultan Declares Wednesday Eid-fitri, 70,500 Security Personnel Deployed by sonofthunder: 6:01am On Apr 09, 2024 |
adamma24: THE Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, on Monday, declared Wednesday, as the day of Eid-Fitr.
The Sultan, who is the President General of Nigeria’s Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, said the decision followed the report of National Moon Sighting Committees across the country which confirmed the non-sighting of the new moon.
A statement signed by the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs to the Sultanate Council, Prof Sambo Junaidu, made available to newsmen in Sokoto on Monday evening, said, “The council accepted the report and accordingly declared Wednesday, April 10, 2024, as the first day of Shawwal 1445AH.
“His Eminence, the Sultan felicitates with the Nigerian Muslim Ummah and wishes them Allah’s guidance and blessings.
“The Sultan, while urging the Muslim Ummah to continue to pray for peace, progress, and development of the country, also wishes all Muslims a happy Eid-El-Fitri.
“The crescent moon was not sighted in Saudi Arabia. Therefore, Eid Al Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday, 10th April 2024.”
The Federal Government had declared today and tomorrow as a holiday for the celebration before the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia while announcing that the moon was not sighted, declared tomorrow as Eid-el-Fitr.
Meanwhile, to mark the 2024 Eid-el-Fitr celebrations across the country, security agencies, including the Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps, state security outfits and others have deployed personnel to protect worship centres, direct traffic and ensure a hitch-free event.
In preparation for a hitch-free celebration, the Commandant-General, NSCDC, Ahmed Audi, ordered the strategic deployment of over 40,000 personnel across the federation.
Audi gave the directive based on current security challenges and the need to proactively tackle crimes.
In a statement signed by the corps spokesperson, Babawale Afolabi, on Monday, the CG hinted that the corps would deploy both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches to nip in the bud all acts of criminalities before, during and after the Eid-el-Fitr celebration in various states of the nation.
“As the Holy month of Ramadan comes to a close, on behalf of the management and personnel of the NSCDC, it is my pleasure to congratulate all our Muslim brothers all over the nation wishing them a blessed, peaceful and joyful Eid-el-Fitr.
“This felicitation is with unwavering assurance that the celebration will go very smoothly and without any hitch as officers and men of the Corps would be deployed strategically in public places, Eid prayer grounds, shopping malls, markets, motor parks and various flashpoints across various formations and states of the federation.
“Notably, the State Commandants have been directed to deploy their personnel to strategic locations and flashpoints while ensuring strong collaborations with other sister security agencies and adequate supervision of their personnel for effective service delivery,” Audi was quoted to have said.

Seun: When I started Nairaland, I operated it all by myself, but by 2007 I was overwhelmed. Mukina2 swooped in and volunteered to be a super-moderator. She also helped me to recruit section moderators. This enabled us to move forward. Initially, she worked for free, but over time she became a paid supermod. One of the best.
Last month, I gave her a particular instruction which is the most basic instruction you can give a moderator. Clean up ALL the sections you've been assigned to and report to me after EACH one. She steadfastly refused until the month end. She felt that she was doing her job and there was therefore no need for me to tell her what to do.
I insisted that she must choose between resigning and following this particular instruction. She eventually chose to resign, saying "let's go our separate ways". We will miss her a lot. I will miss her a lot. I wish her the best in all her future endeavours. She will do great. She may return if she changes her mind, but the show must go on. We didn't need all of the details share but it's sad for her to leave like that. Try and arrange some kind exit package for her regardless. |

Career › Re: Ways You Can Avoid Being Used By Selfish Nigerian Employers by sonofthunder: 6:43pm On Apr 03, 2024 |
Rapmoney: 1. YOUR SALARY IS NOT PART OF YOUR EMPLOYER'S PROFIT : The money your employer pays you monthly as salary is not part of his profit; it is part of his or her cost of running the business. Since you do not share in his or her profits, you should not also share in their losses. There is an agreement between you and your employer that you are going to carry out specific duties which you will be paid for. Anything that makes your employer to pay you half salary in a month or withhold your salary due to so-called absence of funds should not be acceptable. If an employer cannot pay workers, he or she should close down the business or sell it off.
2. IF YOU SEE YOURSELF IN AN ORGANIZATION THAT DOESN'T ISSUE EMPLOYMENT LETTERS: Whenever you find yourself working in an organization that does not issue employment letters to workers, just know that you are not working but just 'hustling'. Such type of employees do not deserve resignation letter when you want to leave. Just leave when you want to leave; don't dignify them by giving them a resignation letter. If you are not worthy to be issued an employment letter, they are not also worthy to receive a resignation letter from you. Do not dignify them with one. There is no binding labour law backed by the constitution between both of you.
3. DO NOT WORK BEYOND YOUR JOB DESCRIPTION : Humans are very selfish oftentimes. When you go out of your way to carry out other duties that are not included in your job description, they automatically become part of your job description. Everybody likes mumu, but the day mumu becomes wise, mumu will become a bad person. That's how how some private school owners use their teachers to do odd jobs such as clearing grasses, cooking and doing domestic chores. I have a friend who used to work in a private school. Within 3 months of employment, his boss converted him to a driver and personal assistant while still working as a teacher on top 30k salary.
4. IF YOU SPEND YOUR YOUTHFUL DAYS...: If you spend your youthful days working for people, you may end up a poor sad fellow in old age. As you dey work, make you dey invest too. Thank you sir. What are the things we should ensure are captured on the employment letter. Some employers basically give letter of appointment/resumption with nothing significant captured on it. |

Janegreg: Was he not part of that same administration of excesses and so called unperceived failure..stop defending failure, if his hands are clean the probe will lay it to bare. As regards whether or not adeleke is performing, are you currently in Osun? The same excesses of the past administration can be used as an excuse for his unperceived failure as well...if you're currently not in the state stop typing rubbish. Of course. It doesn't avail him. I keep telling people that you cannot trace the problem of Nigeria. My point is that Aregbesola borrowed money to look good, I equally praised him at first being ignorant of the consequences of his actions. Is it Oyetola that will tell Aregbe not to borrow? My fear is that by the four year mark, this man (MJ 😂) will turn out worse than the previous two leaders we are criticising. Anyone that's guilty should rot in jail including the person calling for probes. He's already playing the card of having the past administration as scapegoats instead of seeing what valuable achievement he could make. That shouldn't be his primary focus as the success from that requires minimal attention and has little to do to improve the life of the citizens. |

Gadafii: If them like make dem kick bucket
However my concern is that Oyetola and other criminal ex governors like Yahaya bello and even ganduje may never do terms for their embezzlement of public funds
This probe will is just a charade, last last nothing go happen, that’s always the pattern
If not, person like ganduje, oyetola, akpabio, Bello, etc their graves for don open mouth had it been they were Chinese officials, that’s if they even have any identified grave cos they would have been executed You need to consider Oyetola's failure through the eyes of his predecessors excesses and unperceived failure. Oyetola tried to stop borrowing and clear the backlogs that was being owned hence why I find it difficult to criticise him. Aregbesola was trying to build an airport that I didn't know how the state or the airport itself was going to be self sustaining. Despite Aregbesola's successes, he still had several failed projects |

zealousayo: If you want to criticize, at least make sure you get your fact right. When was Adeleke sworn that you're saying he has spent over two years. Do you know what you are saying at all?
My second question: are you from Osun State? Even though Adeleke may have not been having a sterling performance, he is trying in some aspects. If you want to do criticism, don't do it from the place of bitterness. I have never or heard anywhere that dancing is a sin or an offense. There are many past and present Governors that look serious, but their administrations were/are nothing to write home about. Leave him to his dancing, at least he has reached a milestone in life. How many so called 'not-dancing' people. can boast of that achievement? I haven't asked him to stop dancing. Let him work. Him dancing or not dancing is the same stupidity from almost all the governor's from 1999 till date. And yes he's going to two years and I meant to type over a year. Being a failed leader is a stupendous milestone to achieve. I want to read about governors that make substantial and sustainable improvements not dancing or building statue will citizens are dying from easily preventable ailments. The fact that you couldn't point to any reasonable achievement of his points to my fear that the man is currently failing and will most likely not Change the status quo. |
