Lol.... That's why he acted so I guess.

Our generation is alittle bit different from that of our parents and most times, playing hard to get makes a man to lose interest as it's easier to reach out to alternatives and he probably doesn't want to be taken for a ride.

Guys will hold out mostly if they came to conquer or the lady is actually worth it.

Are you guys still together?

Why do men withdraw after the chase?

This question seems to be coming from the angle of a lady playing hard to get and the results nowadays is always the same.

If the man was a "bad" guy then he's basically gotten what he wanted and you'd only be useful as a sex object if you are attached to him until you advise yourself.

If the man is a "good" man, the lady probably played hard to get because she's been treated cheaply by the bad guy before or she wants to explore (or she's listening to advise from friends and relationship coaches) only to return after failing to find anything better. Well, the man ain't so dumb to not know that he was treated as a second, maybe tenth choice.

Alot of men chose to be single just to avoid this rubbish.

There are other reasons though but it's too broad a topic to just go on and on about, I didn't even try to stretch the points I focused on.

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Do Insurance Companies Pay Salary Or It's Just Commission? by sonofthunder: 6:25am On Jul 28, 2023

I am a job seeker, someone is recommending me to an insurance company...

I really want to know how their pay goes..

I think they do both.

If you have contacts/connections and/or you are good in sales/marketing, then I'll advise you go for it. Some of them make ridiculous money from their commission.
Travel / Re: Seeking Honest Advice: Considering Relocating Abroad - Need Your Thoughts by sonofthunder: 1:12pm On Jul 27, 2023
Alejo2000:
Hello fellow Nairalanders,

I find myself at a crucial crossroad in life and would greatly appreciate your valuable insights and diverse perspectives. I have worked diligently in a private organization for 15 years, managing to save up to N20 million. Additionally, I own a 3-bedroom apartment. and a few plots of land in three different states in Nigeria.

Current Situation:
Recently, I was disengaged from my job, and this has prompted me to contemplate a major life decision. I am 45 years old, and my wife is 42 years old. Together, we have three children, two of whom are in secondary school.

Contemplating Relocation:

Given the circumstances, I have been seriously considering the possibility of relocating to another country with my family via study route. Two countries have caught my attention: the UK and Canada. I believe that I still have around 15 years of active career working life by the Grace of God, and I am open to exploring new opportunities abroad for the betterment of my family's future.

Reasoning:
The motivation behind this move is to provide my children with a better education and quality of life while also embracing new experiences. However, I am fully aware that this is not without risks, as it would involve utilizing my lifetime savings and making a fresh start in a foreign land.

Seeking Your Advice
:
I humbly seek your honest advice and opinions on this matter. Here are some key points to consider:

Family considerations: How will relocating impact my children's education and overall well-being?

Age and career transition: Is starting anew in a foreign country feasible, considering my age and accounting background as my profession?

Financial stability: Should I be concerned about using my savings for this move? What steps can I take to ensure financial security in a new country?

Visa and immigration: What are the challenges and best practices in obtaining permanent residency in the UK or Canada?

Job opportunities: How promising is the job market for accountants in these countries? Are there viable prospects for career growth?

Investment options: Alternatively, what investment opportunities in Nigeria can provide a stable income stream for my family?

Conclusion:
I am deeply grateful for any advice, personal experiences, or suggestions you can provide. Your valuable insights will play a significant role in shaping this crucial decision for my family's future.

Thank you all for taking the time to read and respond to my post. Your support means a lot to me and will help me make an informed choice.

Warm regards,

I'll say go for it if you can travel without selling any of your properties, especially the landed properties. But this will be difficult since you need to go via study route and you'd need money to cater living expenses upon landing.

It's still a dilemma.
Politics / Re: The Most Popular and influential Politicians From South South by sonofthunder: 8:20pm On Jul 25, 2023
garfield1:
Wike: his popularity cuts across the 6 SS states.he dominates SS politics,is loved and adored by the SS people.he controls pdp faction in cross river, sponsored ypp candidate senator oba who was in pdp, sponsored a faction of the pdp in Edo led by Dan orbih.his influence also extends to anambra apc and some northern states.

Oshiomhole: as an opposition candidate, he defeated pdp in edo.he was the second person to sack a pdp governor in the south and third overall.he is fanatically loved in the Edo north zone of Edo and large parts of edo.him and akpabio are the only ones able to deliver their districts to tinubu.oshiomhole also delivered his district to apc in 2015 and 2019.he crushed the obidient movement or tsunami in the north of Edo and humiliated shuaibu in his polling unit.

Akpabio: he delivered his zone to tinubu and overran obi in akwa ibom.he also helped to get 25% for buhari in 2029.he is madly loved in his ikot ekpene district and by virtue of being SP,he is the leader of apc in SS.

Governor Prince Otu: if not for the calabar metropolis,he would have won the southern zone for tinubu and perhaps the entire state.he is very popular.

David Lyon: he is popular in bayelsa but has failed to exert his influence since his ouster Hy the apex court.in the last two election, apc lost scandalously so his popularity is suspect.

Omo Agege: if he had returned to the senate,he would be SP.he failed to deliver for tinubu and struggled to win his zone during the guber but delivered two senate and a reps seat.

Magnus Abe: he is very popular among his ogoni people.

Omo Age is popular but not influential.... The last election proved that especially on a national scale

Romance / Re: After Rejecting Marriage Proposal, What Happens Next? by sonofthunder: 3:18pm On Jul 17, 2023
Crystalom35:
I know the obvious answer might be to break up and move along.

But consider this, marriage is not the only goal of some relationships.

There are people out there who wanna date and experience love but without the commitment of marriage.

I mean, people date other people for different reasons.

Hence, when you are proposing marriage and they don't want it, should you break up even when the feelings are still there?

How about some who are not even ready at the moment for the commitment?

But most importantly, should all relationships should be about marriage or about finding love and happiness?

Let's hear your thoughts. If you propose to someone and they refused would that end the relationship?

I'm sure you don't understand how the excuse you posted relates to the discussion.
Career / Re: Is It Possible To Get My Money Back? by sonofthunder: 2:23pm On Jul 12, 2023
Alexxx2000:
Good day, all. I am typing this with a lot of frustration and anger.

I was among the volunteers asked by this NGO (name withheld ) to serve as an ENUMERATOR. They told me it was a paid volunteer. We were trained in data collection using ODK and Kobotoolbox.

As a student, I had planned how I will use this stipend of 20k to provide my basic needs in school because I have no one sponsoring me.

My section does go out to collate these data on Fridays and Saturdays. Now to the issue!

Just yesterday made it a month and I was expecting the money to get foodstuffs and save like 5k for my next school fees. The program director for North Central told me that I am not entitled to a stipend because the role I am working on is just volunteering and not paid.

I was shocked because when I was told and made to sign a term of agreement it was clearly stated that I will receive a 20k monthly stipend. I then asked them to show me the document and I was surprised to see the term of the agreement was uttered.

What should I do nairalanders to get my money or should I continue without pay to get experience as an enumerator for the outside world?

Please Nlfpmod help me get a wider view. I am in a state of dilemma.

I won't be surprised the money for the position is like #70k-100k but somebody is greedy.

Despite Banning AbokiFx, their App is still in use by the Aboki's. That's what they use. CBN only made them stop using the website. But the APPs still continues to function and almost all the ABOKIs have it on their Android phones.

Before they make any transaction, they either make a CALL or they check the App.

Government think they could easily control certain things

I never even knew they have app but this shouldn't affect I & E window from the little I know should it?

Yes, I think that’s the requirement. According to information on vfs website, consent form is also a requirement, I don’t knw if they truly ask for it.

Might just be less stressful to pay. Someone quoted you that the fee is now 31k is that valid?

How can I verify the current amount so I don't underpay and they ignore my application.
