n3xt: Don’t be angry with us.
Here if you offer us something at a ridiculously cheap price, we will ask you “How much for the original one?”
It’s left for you to convince us beyond reasonable doubt that you’re right and we are wrong.
That might require you sending a sample down to Ibadan for us to dissect
That’s who we are over here! We are not mean Hmmh! Wonders will never end |

You guys should remember that I'm still a human being and I have emotions. On a day I just want to celebrate and have fun, someone came for me again. Why can't he let today pass and come back tomorrow Please enjoy your day and be merry. I don't know why it seems people are being unnecessarily hard on you. You make 18k doors, I never saw where you said you can make 50k doors for 18k. O gini di? Meanwhile happy birthday |

You sef no try. In Nigeria you have to have an idea of the price of what you want. Something of 55k you priced 25k and they agreed, that was where your wahala started. These traders you can't just beat them at their dirty game. Sorry you hear. Next time know your Market 101, which is: 1. Nigeria is a jungle 2. Traders no get joy 3. Have an idea of the price of what you want. 4. With 3 in mind, don't price stupidly. If you even price 2k, some will accept but be sure it's only wire you will go home with. 5. Price in 3 places and settle for one. Never buy in the first place you prized. |

QSFemi: I've seen lots of reactions to this already.
However, I just want to add my bit to the issue.
My observations;
The length of wood per one is mostly 3.60meteres (12 feet) in Lagos and many other states. However, in Benin city, for instance, the commonest length of wood is 5.4metres (18 feet). From the attached quotation, no mention of the length of each wood and neither did you talk about the location of the project. Apparently, a wood that's 5.40 metres long is going to be costlier than one that is 3.60metres of same size.
As of yesterday in Benin city; here's the price of hardwood;
3 x 4 = #2,500 per one 2 x 4 = #1,300 per one 2 x 3 = #900 per one 2 x 2 = #700 per one
I'm not saying the carpenter's quote is justifiable, I'm only saying there might be a different context to the quotation.
In every item in building construction, description of items is equally as important as the price.
Merci. You are very correct |

kopell: You need to run and run fast from the person that give you these wood prices imagine 3x4 for 2,450 2x4 for 1,500, 2x3 for 1,300. Please help us asked him, is he bringing his hard wood form heaven that make it x3 average cost of other wood vendors They could be 18feet wood, that's what we have in Benin. Though the prices are slightly higher than market price |

bablex: Good afternoon nairalanders, please help me confirm if this quotation is too much for a four bedroom ensuite from foundation to roofing and plastering only Pls always get up to 3 quotes and compare. 120k for steptile installation of 360sqm is on the high side, even the roofing wood work. |

Nettuno: Please experts in the house, help me look at this quotation for a parapet. The house is a bungalow of 66.5 meters: I think the iron and mason quote is ok including the labour charges, but you see the wood quotation, me i don't understand o. It's quite much but it will depend on the style and curvature of your parapet. Get more quotes for carpentry work and compare. His labour charge is fair |
