You are very correct but the problem is that the oil applicable to use in such vehicles are commonly not available. None of the oil produced locally will work on a Range Rover and that is the dilemma faced by mecs. So they use the available oil and start hoping that nothing happens to the engine. Not many owners of Peugeot 508 knows the kind of oil to use for the engine but Peugeot recommends Total and Total does not have the particular oil recommended for the car. Pan is now advising their customers to use Mobil 1 5w30 esp but the sticker is still on the car recommending Total. Those cars cost money too

Hmm, a term for oils that are suitable for nothing. I may be wrong but I don't know of any vehicle manufacturer that specifies 5w40 as the oil to use and the 5w40 would have been able to hold down the engine temperature easily but the reverse is the case because our locally produced oils either dries up Oando syn, causes sludge Mobil 1 and turns to gel Total q9000. These are the aluminum oils and the producers know what they bring and the latest addition is those that sell Castrol oil from South Africa. They proudly show the magnatec 5w30 as the best oil meanwhile it's a synthetic blend and castrol edge professional 5w20 which castrol Usa does not even know about. It is an API sl. These are the tough choices good mecs face here but it the owners of the vehicles that will bear the cost

Magnatec is third in line but it is better than the Mobil 1 Egyptian spec, total q9000 synthetic blend and Oando syn aluminum oils

Not their fault though. Some mecs are not aware of the importance of the 5w20 badge on the oil cover and so use the available oil commonly sold. It is important to note that none of our local oils can work with these Engines. Recently a client helped me to order for castrol extended performance from the Usa because we could not get from our Suppliers

Mr rescue. I use a honda baby boy 2001 model,4plugs. But the issue i am having now is dat the gear hesitates to engage wen ever the engine is hot. But wen its cold,it answers me smoothly. Pls do u have any solution for me,because i dont want to die in d hands of kazeems.

Change the oil and use Dw1 or the multi vehicle global synthetic fluids

5w20 and sp3 or4 for transmission. Avoid Nigerian oil products and ask around from Gazzuzz, Autotrader2

There were no brakes on the car, it was 10% effective. The engine of the 011 dies because the owner allows their Mecs to use any oil and these oils are not capable of holding down the engine temperature and so it either overheats or the crankshaft and the metals sadly give up the ghost

The brake solution was quoted for 1.3m and we did it for 130k. It is a 2011 and the price for the parts are still off the hook. The naija used engine for the range 011 is 4 m. And it is usually not in the best state. That your civic is not mechanic friendly cos there is nothing to fix in that car

Would like to share experiences and thrills on this platform

Own a 2011 Range Rover Sports and 2008 Jaguar XJ8. Both in great condition.

For the 1st time since 2012 on the Range Rover suspension fault come up on the screen and the car appear to be leaning to the right rear side (passenger side) . This corrected when it started and ran the engine but the suspension fault is still showing.

Would appreciate experience with anyone who has experienced this.

Part of our services includes taking your vehicle to the computerized physical vehicle inspection center to get your roadworthy certificate genuinely and the best news is that you can obtain your tinted permit at the center once all modalities are instituted but you must come in person to obtain the permit and the best news is that the police is bringing the biometric cmr to the center too. All these reforms spearheaded by Autowatch on radio 103.5fm and Rescue and Recovery Nigeria. The essence of the bcmr is that once you present the card when stopped by the police and you present the card to them, it eliminates the delay. No need to be wary of the police.

Do they have parts or the overpriced parts ? A customer took his Range sport 2011 with broken front bumper, front left headlamp and no effective brakes with leaking water pump and charging system and a front balloon and he was charged 5m. The man quickly took his Sport away.

All batteries with month and year begining from 0-9 year have expired. The new batteries are those whose year of manufacture begins from 2016 or 2017 and it is stated on top of the battery while the month is also stated for you to tick as per the month it was bought. The new battery must begin from 2015, 2016 depending on the one with you and since it is an after market battery, its lifespan is four years but most batteries do not last even a year because the batteries are not properly strapped to the car and as the car wobbles through the bad portions of the road, the battery is more exposed to quick failure

I defer to your superior claims, good luck to the latest aluminium oil in town. A fully synthetic oil that total 4x4 api sl that is not synrhetic oil is more expensive to buy. It is only mumu like you that will buy it.

Have you been using mobil 1 all the time? In some cars, the oil loses a litre at every 1000mls but in most cases, the sludge in the car is making the engine to ask for more oil. I advise that you check the sludge if it is in your engine. Stick to the 5w30, buy from genuine sources

A lab test for an engine oil is better done when the oil is drained, to see if the metals are still intact. Websites begins with www. and not go to facebook. I will like you to post the technical specification of the oil, if it is for gasoline cars or like the ones sold in Nigeria, that Total sells oil suitable for bmw ll01 which is for 2002 bmw. What are the spec sheet of the oil?
