The truth is that some owners feel that oil is oil and so there is no difference but we know the end result. The truth is that no locally produced or packaged engine will work well coupled with the fuel will augur well for the Range Rover brand. |
The 2012 Range uses 5w20 and like erico2k2 said, it might not be the Engine even though it was poorly maintained. I can send down a recovery truck to pick it up if you are in Lagos. |
Don’t bother with that brand. You will never get the right traction, temperature and speed rating from that brand. They are on revenge mission to destroy lives and property after they were made to shut down their factory. |
Maybe he will give us his robust response when he is forced to come to Nigeria. Op, make we meet for Benin on Friday. The great Oba dey do show and na this kind people e good to use. You have been following the thread from day one and you have not prepared on the story to tell. I understand the situation but two years is too long not to try and refund his money. I think I know you too because someone has referred you that you bring in parts too and we can easily get to your family here and we wont be waiting for you to tell us what happened to the money paid into your account. Or did you use the money for MMM? |
Came Late sha......[/quote How lekki na? |
Call me so that I can send you the number. I need to talk to him first. I will do that in the morning. |
I remember very well. For him to have refunded that amount shows he has spent that balance. Let me get you a number in SFU in Ikoyi who will contact Interpol and the rest will be history |
TSAT:I just went through the email and some of the details. I have not read through the whole thread but from page 2, I think the seller should be given a chance to talk. I have bought two cars for 2 friends on Export trader but I let them do the clearing at the port. If you pay money in bits while the car is in an auction process, there is a little chance that the vehicle will not be able to be purchased hence the OP saw the car being relisted and as such, you lose some of the deposit. That coupled with the inability to get full payment to bid must have caused a deep cut into his expetations and therefore has been unable to fulfill his part of the deal. Since it was not your first business together. you should have found a way to tell him that he send the lexus first instead of losing the whole package. Gazzuzz, so you know say Oga Ikenna, the LION King makes only speech? |

South African oil for US cars. The oil will turn the engines to right hand |
nasonaso:Nigeria is using unleaded Regular 87 currently. In 2005, leaded fuel was phased out and for those who can remember, we used to have funnels in our cars to use whenever we want to buy fuel. That was when we were using leaded fuel. Now the effect of unleaded regular on vehicles that requires Premium unleaded is the reason why cars dont last in Nigeria. Low octane fuel on cars that requires premium fuel is a grave danger that we face here. The PPPRA is not willing to change that policy even though they know that it is damaging the vehicles of majority of Nigerians. Dangote's refinery is the only light in the tunnel as he promised to produce high grade fuels. Cars that are at risk with our fuel are: Acura, Nissan, VW, BMW, ( The M series requires a higher number than 91) Range Rovers, Mercedes Benz, Lexus, Volvo, Mitsubishi and a lot more. |
The price is not that much. 10k a liter x 8 litres for a Range Rover is not a big deal. Nigerians nor send as far it takes care of their cars. No issue. Even the Castrol is 35k a gallon and it is cool. |
We have not even thought of it for the RRS SDv6. It is an 8 speed and the oil is not common here. But all 6 Speed are available from ravenol to Lifeguard 6 and Pureguard and Syngard. I remember a client imported a gearbox for the 2014 Evoque with the 8 Speed fluid. Right now the rate of failed Evoque engines is now a cause for concern. But we shall overcome. Na our work to overcome these challenges. |
Yes. but we are still watching the diesel intake. The DPF is still good and the engine is powerful |
Yes, the white RRS |
Due to bad road, lots of cars are parked on the interlocked part of the road with the assurance that security guys who collect money forcefully every month do their job. ter A letter of warning. |
greatrexlaw:I can't recall if Mobil 1 ESP 5w30 is Ilsac 5 compliant but I know that no locally produced oil is ILSAC 5 compliant. I once went to the office of the importer of Castrol who sells 5w20 professionel which is a very dangerous oil because it is deceptive to the owners of the vehicles that requires 5w20. The oil is an ILSAC 3 compliant and many people will look at the name and specification and forget the ILSAC aspect. For your car. use the Castrol professionel. It is an SL and it is ideal for your car. Oando sent me their recent report on the SYN oil and everything looks good on paper. The only thing that I could not say was if the oil for the analysis was taken from their imported oil in drums or their locally blended syn in gallon. That oil in gallons is where I am concerned about. Their local blending capacity as per quality control and assurance has a question mark.. I recently saw that they have upgraded their ATF Dex 111 to Dexron 111 H and I was wondering how can it be? I have used that oil on a Mercedes Benz ML 1999 and the result was an erratic shift until we drained it and use GARD, an American Dex 111 which resolved the matter. I was just going through the website of Mobil in Germany and discovered that they dont even sell 20w50 in Mobil super. They sell synthetic in Super but here we get 20w50 as hxp and the worst oil, Mobil special . The popular Mobil 1 0w40 has been phased out for another 0w40 with an FS. Mobil Nigeria's website displays the American Mobil 1 but they dont even sell a drop of that oil here. The transmission fluid displayed on the website is not even sold here except their Dex 11e. Castrol, Mobil 1 US is sold locally. Get in touch with the sellers on Nairaland. The rate at which Nigerians are changing their engines in Japanese cars is alarming. The number 1 cause is the engine oil. Whether you are in Alska or the moon, the weather does not affect the engine oil specified by the manufacturers. |
Range Rovers are fast depleting on our roads aligning with other half hearted vehicles like Benz, Bmw, Vw, Audi and Porsche to mention a few.It is sad and annoying but the owners are to be blamed. I know a lot of the owners who are not willing to hear the word range in any form because of what they go through. It is even the same complaint abroad even with the good fuel and good oils. But the good thing about them is that they don't go through engine or transmission faults. Just electricals while here, we suffer from all the faults. A range Rover is a prestigious brand in the same class with the Rolls royce because the technology is over advanced. In a situation where a cheap brake switch will cause gear errors and suspension faults, shows that it requires detailed maintenance. I remember that I was once commissioned to tow a Rolls Royce from Ife to Lagos for servicing. Imagine the amount to tow it just for routine checks. But we don't need to tow a go anywhere car but we need to be conscious of the details whenever we go for routine maintenance. The Range Rover recommends Castrol and from Castrol's website, it is not every castrol that works for the brand. It is the highest of the brand. Even Vw requires the oil, ditto BMW and other big brands but we allow lower performance oil to be used and be happy about it. As common as Peugeot cars looks, there is only one oil brand that can work well with the new generation of the brand, that is the local Mobil 1 esp 5w30. Even the famed Total oil will never work though Peugeot still recommends Total but they will tell you to use Mobil ESP. Imagine a brand that lies about the oil to use and the oil is not available anywhere. The Total Q9000 is outdated for Peugeot cars from 2011 above. The oil does not meet the requirements of the engine. In a nutshell, no locally produced engine oil is suitable for the Range Rover ditto with other big brands. There are different types of Castrol being sold in the country but the number choice should be the extended performance 5w30 and 5w20. Even the current Range Rovers legacy from 2013 requires 0w20, the same oil specification Honda and Toyotas uses in their 2008 cars. In Nigeria, the fuel is an issue but with the right oil, it will minimize the damage. Go for the best oils and enjoy your rides and make my job easier. Imagine I am still working at this hour trying to remedy damages that are avoidable. Get good oil and Octane boosters for your Range Rovers and let us go together for our next off road competition in December this year. Thinking of Lagos to Calabar to participate in the Carnival. All expenses paid. Castrol Edge extended performance oils are now available especially the 5w30. Call the importer directly. 07064090107 and get yours today and put that car back on the road. |
Let me check from the market. It looks like the 2010 bumper. I used to have one in the shop, just like yours. Problematic. Bought the injectors from Lituania. The Sport share the same injectors with Citroen which I later found out. At the moment, that Sport is the only one in the country with the knob gear and 3.0 diesel engine until yours arrive. Then my bank account will be rising and I will start smiling to the bank. |
Let him send me the photos by whatsapp. 08098534267 |

PaperLace:That is the mentality on ground. I used to tell Policemen on the highways when they are complaining about poor salary as the reason for their bribe taking that even if they are paid 1m a month, they will still ask for bribe. The Bible told them and us to be content with our wages and until that simple obedience is followed, high bp and other associated ills, that the Bible mentioned in Duet :45 will continually plague mankind. Jesus told us of the story of the hired men who were hired at different hours of the day and the amount settled before they started work. Those who were paid for the morning work, grumbled about the matter were rebuked . It is the same nowadays. If 45k is not enough for today's drivers, 100k will never be enough. |
ironheart:A client once told me of a story of a driver who was commissioned to take a brand new Gwagon to abuja from Lagos. The driver took off with the car and took passengersa to Kaduna and on his way back, picked passengers to Lokoja before he decided to return to abuja. There was too much agony as his phone was switched off. He spent one month in prison for that act. The bottom line is greed. There is no justification for that act. As long as the driver agreed to the salary, there is no more excuse. They believe that because the oga is rich, he should be giving him more money. I also once had an encounter with a driver and his oga. The man was an SA to a minister and his jeep was misbehaving. I scanned the car and discovered the fault. As I was about telling the Oga the issue, the driver quickly confessed to me that he was the one that removed the fuse because he was broke and he slept in his Oga's house for three days because he had no transport fare to go home. He begged for 5k and gave me the fuse. Greed at work |
connkg:It is the simulation test. Your car is placed on a roller and from there the tyres are rolled at high speed and everything is recorded and when done, the result is printed . The test will make Honda owners to fix their cars when they start hearing kpeke. They always wait for the kpeke sound to become an addition to the engine noise before they decide to fix. Yesterday, on my radio program, we talked about bringing the Customs service to the Centers. That will eliminate the presence on the highways because it is their documents that the licensing authority accepts before issuing vehicle license. |
adanny01:If you have been there, you will understand better. They check the headlamps with a device to know if it is properly focused , they put the car on a spinning machine that determines the suspension , alignment and the braking power. The Range Rover I took there failed because of bushings issues. Does it mean the Honda menace only occurs after using China Parts or before? |
Syngard Global ATF available at Rescue and Recovery Nigeria |
adanny01:Dont forget Awka and Minna also has the facility. Those thinking of migrating to other states to get theirs is not an issue. The exercise is a civic responsibility for every citizen to ensure that their vehicles are in order to enable us have seamless traffic. The Federal Govt does not issue roadworthy certificates. It is exclusively a state matter. For me, it will reduce the Honda menace on our roads, no more leg pullout on Lagos roads. By the time the Police are fully on ground at the centers, you will not go to Sokoto to get what is in your sokoto. |
