Why do parents abroad always threaten their kids with sending them back to Nigeria whenever they misbehave? It's not like they plan on relocating with them but rather sending them to a relative to look after their children. They tell you they will be well behaved when they get to Nigeria.

I am very surprised at the rate in which most Nigerian marriages in America end up in separation and divorce. These are people who got married back in Nigeria and everything seem to be going fine, all for them to win visa lottery and they find themselves in the states. As time goes on the husband/wife notices a difference in the husband/wife which leads to everyday quarrel. The men are like the ladies are moving with people they are not suppose to move around with. At times it is the husband visiting strip clubs and spending money on "Akata". The broken homes among Nigerians is very high. The sad thing is that most of these couples do not consider their children.

A couple I look to as role models when it comes to marriage right now are on the verge of divorce. I am not married but when I see them together it gives me hope that there is true love out there. When I heard about the divorce I was shocked. They both act like siblings, they are ready to help each other in every aspect. I always told her that she was taken from the man's rib. These are couples who have been married for 8 years and all of a sudden the end is divorce.

I have heard a lot about this church for some time now and numerous people I know go there. There are talks that you get delivered from every and any spiritual problems one has and that the prayers are very powerful. My friends who go there seems to have changed a lot(they are sort of paranoid). All the prayers are either die, back fire, paralyze your enemies. Well I see nothing wrong with that if that is their belief and their prayers are answered but the thing that baffles me is that they feel someone(foundational/ancestral/witchcraft powers) is always behind their problem. In some cases they maybe true which I do not dispute but is it in all cases? Another thing about them is that they do not trust anyone. When they see you in their dreams wahala. It was funny when she told me someone in her church was behind her problem. I was surprised. With the way she prays the person should either be dead or paralyzed by now and her problem solved.
Maybe I am looking at it in another way I don't know but I will like to know your take on the church. Thanks
