1. Do not be scared to make blunder. It makes you nervous and causes you to make more blunder.

2. If you have intention of speaking in public, make sure you practice in front of a mirror. Record your voice. You are not actually doing it to practice what to say, rather you are doing so to build confidence.

3. Before you talk, think. Make a picture of what you want to say in points. From those points buttress on that.

4. If you have nothing to say, then keep shut. Most people just want to talk even though they have no tangible things to say. This is what lead to blunder in speech sometimes.

5. At night before you sleep make a review of important conversation you contributed to, and think of ways you would have contributed better, most especially the choice of words to be used.

6. When you make blunders and you notice, move on. Don't try to correct yourself at the time you made the blunder.

7. When others are talking, it is advisable you don't talk, just listen. Listen to what everybody says and then chip in your little contribution. People who listens are often perceived as a good communicator than people who just keep talking; even though the good listener end up saying nothing.

This is my experience with an entitled Neighbor.


Then in the university, I was in 500 level. This Entitled Neighbor was running his generator beside my window. I was staying downstairs while he was staying upstairs.

And this entitled Neighbor borrowed gen from only God knows who, and placed in front of my window and ran a wire directly up his room. One could have wondered why he didn't use the generator house.

So, I and my roommate(he was in 200 level) went to his door and knocked. I told him calmy.

Me: "Oga good evening, abeg your gen dey disturb us, I get exam tomorrow, can you take the gen to the generator house, thank you"

Entitled Neighbor:" wetin them dey talk abeg getout, my gen dey disturb you? So you want make we off am, oga abeg shift"

I was shocked by his rudeness, and I was just leaving when I heard him say

"No mind those year one boys, if them talk anyhow I go beat them"

The funny thing was the guy in question was in 200level and my roommate was in 300 level and I was in final year.

I laughed and went to my room.

Not later than 5 minutes the gen stopped working. They came down stairs and tried and tried till they got tired and left. I was just so happy that karma caught up with them.

2 days later, my roommate told me those guys came to apologise that they were sorry.
They must have heard we were not kids and probably because of their conscience.

I wanted to beat the crap out of those two, but I was held back by only God knows what.
