Akpos in a new Secondary School

TEACHER: There will be an elementary science test next week.

Contrary to his nature, Akpos reads his book from cover to cover like no man's business.

On test day, teacher lines up about 5 birds, covering each with a piece of cloth so only their legs are visible.

QUESTION 1: Looking at the leg of each bird write down its common name, species, family, zoological name, habitat etc.

After about 20 mins of frustration and not writing down anything, Akpos storms to the teacher's desk and slams his blank sheet in front of the teacher.

AKPOS: Sir, this test makes no sense! I am going home!

TEACHER: What a rude boy! Come back here. What is your name?

Akpos raises his trouser and points to his leg "Oya, you too, look at my leg and tell me my name, my surname, my house address, what tribe I come from.

If you walk into the toilet every time and urinate without any pains you may not understand that you're blessed...you need to see people who need surgery to urinate.

If you lie down on your bed and roll from one side to the other, you may not realize how blessed you are...you need to see those who can't move because of some sort of sickness.

If you can stand up and pick something from the table at one end of the room you might not know how blessed you are...until you see people who need others to do that for them.

If you can hear the beats of your favourite tunes and nod your head, well, I assume probably you've not thought of the deaf...don't you think you're blessed?

If you go for sight seeing trips, viewing the beauties of God's creation, if you can admire things you see then have you asked yourself how does that little blind boy/girl begging for alms with a bowl at the street corner feels about not seeing anything all thru his or her life.

You wake every morning and sit down to a nice meal, you lick things up and chew things up, you probably do not know that some of your age mates are lying helplessly in some hospital somewhere taking their's from tubes running thru their noses...you're blessed.

You can wipe your own butt, you can brush your own teeth, you do those things with your hands, some people have got no hands due to one reason or the other, the question is how do they do it? You're blessed.

Blessing isn't evident only when you're behind the wheel of a Range Rover sport.

When you're living in a mansion.

When you're the richest man of your time.

There's more to God's blessings than we understand.

Always find a reason to be grateful to God because there's always a reason if you think about it.

Side Note: OAU buddies please don't be too discouraged, there are times when the only things you can do are to pray, believe and wait.

Waiting is the most difficult part of the three, but things will be fine.

Some people don't sleep at all, even at night. And that's a BIG problem to them. Probably not that they don't want to sleep, but it's just that they can't just sleep! I believe everyday their prayer would be, "God, I just
want to be able to sleep, even if it's for 20mins. The doctors has done their best, to no avail. Lord please!"

You cry that you don't have a job, there's a high number of people that are in the hospital, they're not praying for a job, they just need their health restored.

They just want to be able to do what they do before.
They just want to be with their loved ones again.

Someone's leg has hung in the hospital for 2yrs or more, and you're privilege to walk with yours without pains, yet you don't realize how good God has been to you.

You complain that you don't have the fruit of the womb, you allow the bad feeling to makes you a sadist. I guess you've forgotten that there's a lot of ladies/guys, both old and young that are still unmarried, not because they don't want to, but because of circumstances beyond their control.

My point is, at every point in life, no matter how tough it seems, always find a reason to be grateful to God cos He loves you so much
to bring you that far. The fact that you're still alive and facing those challenges should give you the conviction that indeed you're a living soul. If the dead could be privileged to come back to earth, then we'll know the value of our lives regardless of the circumstances.

It's not a surprise to know that many has come to a point that they're now asking if truly there's God. Friends, the truth is...God is real!

Can I tell you something?...God is preparing you for a GREATER HEIGHT, that's why you face the tough challenges.

Friends, God loves you much more than you can imagine.

Bros one guy who studied my movement wella back in those days did a number on me.

I'd prepare the stuff and hide it under the bed without knowing that the guy has already sneaked under the bed to ambush the very thing. Immediately I sight any prowler I go hide am under bed and by the time I'll reach for my garri again the plate will be as good as empty. Na so I go sorrowfully sleep off on an empty stomach.

The day wey come catch the very guy...I nearly clubbed him to death with my tent pole.
