baba every trip i get i will go, road not too insanely bad, the name of an area in Benin is Synonymous with the state of the road, target is 10-15k net per day for a start.

Today is my Day 4 in Driving School, your boy is getting fired up

MoonlightDrive:

Yes Cheerfulgiver keep on grinding... hope you have one or two kids... 1million plus monthly targets, will/ may come at a price..

baba for every bad rating a rider gave u, get a friend or family member to request you, and rate yourself 5 start, sacrificing small commission for bolt may keep you in business
Dailyparrot:
Bolt said my rating is getting too low. I don't know why Nigerians lack empathy and understanding.

Yesterday, I got a request only to get there and meet 5 girls. 5 grown up adults to enter into my small car for a 45 minutes trip with bad roads?

Of course I declined and 3 followed me while the other two had to request for another ride.

Another was an olosho going to meet a client. The map was trying to take us to either blocked road or non-motorable ones. Even when the girl put on her map, she saw it was exactly the same direction I was driving that the map was taking us yet she was complaining, hissing and all. After much back and forth, guyman told us a landmark that we should stop so he comes with his car to pick his fish.

I can't think of any other riders that could be responsible for the low rating.

It seems I will start collecting the phone from riders to rate myself 5 stars going forward.

Cheerfulgiver come and buy me car. you are killing it man, keep grinding. Hustle

CheerfulGiver:
Monday morning motivation...

The first full week of the ember has started. Opportunities abound. For the next 4 months, I want you to evaluate your life, your friendships, your social interactions. Which one can't you do without? If you want your story to change, you have to re-write your own script. It's okay to be selfish when chasing goals. Your goal by Jan 1 could be to buy a car and be free from partners wahala, or to relocate to an axis of Lagos, that will consequently improve your earnings. Nigeria is fucked_, but you can still prevail by working hard.

Remember, the world only celebrates success. No one cares about the effort you have put in, which means that the efforts you put in are personal, and shouldnt be anyone's business, since they won't cater for you when you are down. There's always time to flex, but ember months come once in a year. Change your mentality towards hard work. It's not a crime. There is a reason why ants hustle with all their strength and that's why the Bible says you "lazy ones should go to the ant". My definition of a lazy man is one who could do more, but decides not to, to avoid being seen as working too hard. Who are you really fooling? If you can't work hard now when you have the strength, who will cater to you when you're old and weak? Who will even listen to your advice as an old man when you couldn't advice yourself as a young man? Tick Tock. Every second that passes draws you closer to old age.

I work hard, and I wear it with pride. Nothing's gon change that!

Mr Felicity001, you should also encourage us with your dashboard, at least you do over 300 trips almost same as Mr Cheerfulgiver, i know you don’t like posting dashboard but some times we the aspiring drivers need it for encouragement

Bcus of debit on cancellation, the guy would have been able to subtract the money from the 3000 if it wasn’t a card trip

i pay cash, i also don’t do transfer
BAZ001:

Why pls? Cos I ve been using card all my life on bolt and Uber, I can’t stand the cash & change thingy. And I’ve never had a problem with it.
The only time I changed to cash payments was during the strike, when we were sending people’s father to 2nd rainbow... grin
that week sweet my belle, now we are all enjoying the benefit of the strike

you should have rated him one star for a start before reporting him to bolt

Never you do card trips on bolt, delete your card from your account

ModelLook:
Hello everyone. I want to share my experience yesterday using Bolt. Yesterday, I had a job interview at Jibowu, Yaba. It was raining heavily and I needed to be there on time. I would have opted for jumping bus under the rain but I decided to use bolt for comfort and to avoid getting there all wet.

I ordered for bolt from Ayobo (Near Access Bank). It told me 2100-2700. Now it's been a while I used bolt so I was kinda confused which price it was so I configured my app so I can pay with my Bank.

They sent me a driver by the name OMIDURO SUNDAY. Immediately I entered his car, he did not even let me land, he started asking me "Are you paying with Cash"? I said no. He said Why? That he wants Cash. I said I didn't have. He started asking me "How much is the trip"? I told him the range I was given. He said No. That when we reach, it will be more than that. That the price will go up becos of rain which I did not believe and told him to move that it won't change. He kept being uneasy saying Uber is fixed by Bolt is not. He later opened his Uber app.

Next thing he said was let him end the trip and I give him cash and it will be 3000 which I declined. Remember, the rain was falling like mad. I was late for an interview due to rain. At this point, I couldn't understand his entire explanation.

When I questioned him again after seeing his disposition, he then opened up to me saying why he insists cash is becos HE HAS BEEN OWING BOLT SO HE DOES NOT WANT ANY MONEY TO ENTER TO THE BOLT ACCOUNT.

At this point, I now understood his agitation and told him I will give him cash (planned to give him the 3000 he asked for) and that he should end the trip immediately by parking now. He said he will, let him get to the next Bustop. That took like 5 mins.

Next he kept on agitating that I should give him the 3000 immediately. This time we were around Ipaja. That was where he parked.

To cut the long story short, I got to my destination late, gave him the 3000, later realised that Bolt debited me 400 again from my app.

This is becos the man decided to eat my time of 5mins to stop at the next Bustop which cost me extra 400 which I told him to stop immediately but he refused saying let him get to the next Bustop.

In all, he got 3400 in total. I'm sure he would be smiling seeing I didn't make noise about it smarter but I know what to do.

My Anger Is The Extra 400 He Made BOLT charge me and to make matters worse, I didn't still get the job. N3400 all wasted plus stress angry

He even stopped at Iyana Ipaja to buy food begging me he is hungry. Left me in the car. Took like 5 to 10 minutes buying food. Wasting my time. Was even eating and driving becos he knows nobody will see him becos his car glass is tinted.

I'm going to call Bolt today and tell them all these.

His name is OMIDURO SUNDAY ROTIMI and I also have his phone number which he gave me.

I will call Bolt today. Such driver is not a good person and shouldn't be working for them.

I'm using my experience to enlighten others on the evils these men do to we passengers.

Please know alot about Bolt, Uber before entering becos once these drivers know you are a newbie, most will want to cheat you.

Corruption is deeply rooted in them and they will reap what they sow.

Thank you.

but HP do pay deposit of hundreds of thousands that a driver on Rental don’t pay, was it factored into the driver on HP calculation?

sharpk007:

U actually highlighted something.

If HP guy too saved like rental, by 2nd year plus he will have two guys(the HP car and money from his savings).. if and only if all d conditions were ideal as stated for both parties

From my understanding from this thread, if you have a set goal (to buy your own car) use Rental instead of HP, but you must be disciplined enough to save as you earn

Rental comes with less expenses. bcus the Drivers shares responsibility with the partner for car repair and maintenance

on HP the driver is 100 percent responsible for repairs and maintenance and also pay his returns weekly

like some will say here, Do what works for you

MoonlightDrive:

Hire purchase is the best deal, for both partners. Honestly hate hearing the words rental and to think there are seasoned drivers on this forum encouraging rental deals. shocked

ThatNiccur:

And just fold your legs or do whatever with it, asides pedalling...save the energy for when you get back on a busy road. Been using it since 2010 (Pencil light Camry), Had to do some deep reading before using.

It's the first thing I look out for whenever I need to do long distance on a random car. Some cars have buttons on the steering, instead of a stick.

forgive my many questions oh, just gathering knowledge to know the right car to settle for when cash is ready

Felicity0001:

Corolla despite aka matrix
It's more compact than the Corolla

Front Tire Size
Corolla: P185/65R15 Matrix: P205/55R16 -
Rear Tire Size
Corilla: P185/65R15 Matrix: P205/55R16

Can maneuver more than the Corolla itself
Can navigate through deadlier roads than the Corolla due it size.

Corolla: 178.3" length, 58.1" height
Matrix: 171.3" length, 61.8" height

So if you ask me base on the meaning of "rugged" wrt to ground and terrain I'll say Yes! But with just a slight different from it sister the normal Corolla.grin

But I want to believe the Corolla itself has a better EPA in terms of fuel economy.

Corolla-> Matrix->Camry

is matrix that rugged?

Felicity0001:

I totally disagree... Quality ride only gives you offline trips and the guy you mentioned doesn't do offlines. Most times self offline trips are so deceptive with only a few pays.

That ride is not as rugged as the Toyota Corolla or matrix he's using... Not everywhere the matrix can access a Camry can reason I advised Mr. Reuben to chose his devil wisely.

I asked for advice here before venturing into this hustle, I got little information. However, I did not want to be ideal just after completing my masters and waiting for my statement of result.

I took the bold step and moved from enugu to Abuja to start bolt while looking for a job. This is my first week on bolt and it was quite good. Thanks to the advice of CheerfulGiverr and the likes. I also did 15k offline and I used 30k fuel. I work from 7am to 2pm and 4pm to 8-9pm
