CareerRe: Have You Ever Been FIRED At Work? Share Your Experience! by SpartanKing: 6:13pm On Mar 07, 2020
CokeBar:
Share your experience with us if you have ever been fired. It would be better if we can share:

1. Why we were fired?
2. How did the firing process happen?
3. Aftermath of being fired… how did you feel, have you recovered, did you get something better?

So, I’ll start:

Sometimes last year, I got an unbelievable offer (well above #750k) at a remote company. I bought a PC, subscribed for large data and set-up a workspace. On Monday which was resumption day, I turned on my PC, logged in and started the online meeting… everything went well for the first day and I got introduced to my colleagues. My friend and I actually got employed for same position, so we usually chatted while working. To be onboarded, we had to install a productivity monitoring tool on our PCs, we were told everything we did on the PC would be captured if the tool was turned ON but I really don’t know why I cared less.

On Wednesday same week, we had a short and simple test, during the test, I asked my friend for an answer as I wasn’t so sure, he responded and that was it.

On Thursday, I had a quick one-on-one call with my manager, I was fired. Apparently, I wasn’t supposed to ask for assistance while taking the test. I apologized but the answer was a straight NO (you sabi how oyinbo people strict). So in other words, I was sacked because I cheated ☹.

Well, they paid me for the few days I worked

I have experienced other sad situations, but this has to be the worst. I was so depressed, the following Sunday, I went to Church and it was while Pastor asked us to greet our neighbor, I remembered I didn’t brush… LMAO.

Now, I got something with abit lesser pay but still very chilled grin
what type of job was it? Was it a telecommuting one?

Some culture will invoke the girl's spirit to narrate what actually took place that night
That's a fallacy. The spirit has returned to its maker. There's no place for the dead, in the land of the living!

It's not important, but sometimes it's just what you're attracted to, your polar opposite.

I tend to find tall guys very attractive because I'm short. Most of the guys I've dated were tall with the exception of two- average height. I've not dated a short man because I just cannot get around the shortness. My own father was over 6 ft tall & I remember as a little girl thinking he was very handsome, especially when he was all dressed up, looking like a tall glass of mocha chocolata ya ya grin So yeah, no dumpy men for me lol.
A very lovely morning to Her Majesty!

EducationRe: Akure Teacher Asks Student To Destroy Her Phone As Punishment (Photos, Video) by SpartanKing: 11:47pm On Mar 03, 2020
YoungPerson:
It is because of people like you I refused to join the military. See how you're judging the case from two paragraphs and a 30 second video that explains next to nothing. I for find you and flog sense into your synapses.

As a parent, I use my hard earned money that I worked tirelessly for to buy a phone for my child so as to track him or her in this evil world we live in. That child defies school rules and takes it to school. The school finds it and asks my child to destroy it in front of the whole school under duress with a camera in front of her. I don't have this information but then I wake up to see the video on Nairaland frontpage, bros, people go die.

All of you quoting me are very mad hypocrites. If you read my comment well, you would see that I'm mad because the girl was videotaped and had it posted on the internet. None of you, I repeat, none of you would allow your child to be exposed on the internet for anything at all except for funny viral videos they post by themselves or by you, the parent. I would sue to school to court and win. Yes, the child broke the rules in school just like all you dumbass hypocrites insulting me did but I'd like to see where it is stated in print that such punishment will be the result of bringing a phone to school. Dumb lot. Na why SARS dey slap slap una all over town because you don't know your rights.Thunder strikes the next person who quotes me spewing bullshit

Mehn, people have really lost it. Abi do your brains have coronavirus or you've been smoking Colorado? Will it kill them to seize the phone for the rest of the term or even the rest of the school year? Truth is the child will be more remorse than this nonsense all of you mad people are supporting. Are you people insane how can you not see the evil here. If all schools, made videos of kids who break rules and post them on the internet, what kind of world would we be living in? Are you people mad?!

I grew up in Lagos, I use the term 'mad' a lot. No vex
Madness has nothing to do with Lagos!

XhosaNostra:
Ok look, I'm bored with this conversation already because South Africa is not in competition with you. We're on different levels. We have actors & actresses who just recently moved to Hollywood to make an even bigger name for themselves (eg. Nomzamo Mbatha, Terry Pheto etc), so it's still too early to blow trumpets. But knowing the caliber of actors they are, I'm sure they'll be Hollywood A-listers in no time grin
Funny that you mentioned Hakim Kae Kazim because he's acted in many of our local productions when he was much younger & still relatively unknown, so he's much our product as he is yours cheesy In fact, I believe his journey into big screen acting began in SA, but I stand to be corrected.

The guy from The Mummy, Arno Vosloo is also a South African, btw.
You've just echoed what AKA said the other time!

tsephanyah:
Obj make sense in a long time. he is probably waking up to reality instead of living in alternate universe Because of drugs
He decried the suspicion among ethnic groups and regions in the country, saying, “The language we are using to address ourselves across the region now is uncouth and it must not continue. I will continue to fight for Nigeria’s unity until I die. But this fight is not to make my children and my race second class citizens.”

Obasanjo noted that agitations in the last century and during his presidency were for true federalism but have now shifted to restructuring.
You - Northerners- love Nigeria's unity so much!

OK, thanks! I've gone in search of GT alternatives.
