Crime / Re: Father Loses Baby During Hausa-Yoruba Clash In Mile 12 by speeder(m): 6:14pm On Mar 04, 2016 |
No other tribe is to blame for Nigeria's woes if not Yorubas. Yoruba's are ready to sign a treaty with the devil as long as it heaves heavy burden on the Igbo man. A Hausa man came to my shop today in Katsina and gave me a torn 100 naira note which i declined. He promised to cause a scene if i don't collect that money. His take was because this is not GEJ's era but their brother. I collected the money and gave him what he needed. I'm an Igbo man and cause I think more about the posterity of my business more, I let sleeping dog lie. This has been what most Igbos have been facing in Lagos. Yorubas, hear me, Hausas ain't Igbos. If you touch their wives they kill your entire family. They'll kill even your neighbours just because you upset them. The Igbos ain't your problem, they just use your resources to get richer. This ain't Igbos to whom you beat empty chest for, these are the real terrorist who even kill your destiny. Inhumane. Speeder 54 Likes 1 Share |
Politics / #buharicritic: I'm Glad Buhari Is President. But Wait...- By Speeder by speeder(m): 10:51am On Feb 19, 2016 |
AM SO GLAD THAT BUHARI IS THE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA:
Yes, you heard me and I mean it.
Hold it a minute mbok, take a deep breath and hear me out first before
you start saying I am a mole. Lol.... I am not warming up to defect to
APC neither am I nursing any wish to become a Buharist touch wood.
Now, if Buhari hadn't won this election or rather was not foisted on us
as a president all you would have been hearing would have been.
There goes a man that would have given us heaven on earth.
A man that would have created an Eldora out of nothing.
A man that would have equalled Naira to a Dollar.
A man that would have stabilised the OPEC and in compensation
would have given us an OPEC president.
There goes a man that would have liberated the downtrodden, the
dismal class, the landless gantries and given them the hope and
audacity to dare to dream.
A man that would have brought us the Chibok girls within a month.
A man that would have wiped out boko haram within three months and
restore hope and peace in the Northern region.
That man that would have given us petrol at #40 per liter yes, there
goes that man called Buhari the great enigma.
A man that would have given the youth coppers # 50k a month and
given unemployment benefits to youths.
A man that would have given pension and allowances to the old
people and look after them well because he is an OAP himself.
A man that would have fed the kids in public schools at least a meal
day.
A man that would have created 12 million jobs in four years and given
us the most robust economy.
A man that would have compensated even the journalists with life
policies in case of any eventuality.
A man that would have completed the second Niger bridge and turn
Onitsha to another Dubai.
A man that would have harnessed and closed down the great divide
between the North and the South.
That would have been the man, the saviour, the master, the messiah
that would have brought the much-needed development to Nigeria and
finally, that man would have given us our rightful place in the
committee of nations.
A man that would have brought corruption to ground zero and jail all
the corrupt politicians.
Yes, that man would have been Buhari, a man that Nigerians never
gave the chance to come and make all the wrongs right.
It would have been a case of useless Nigerians that do not know or
want anything good for their country. Instead of voting for the liberator
they went and voted for the clueless Jonathan a man from Otueke,
that has come to continue with his backwardness.
Ah! I am so happy that, the man in question is our president, it is not
some hypothesis nor some case study that students and professors
would have had to embark on and inferred their tentative analysis on.
Yes, that man called Alhaji Buhari is here and him alone has built the
myth around himself and he is the only one that has been able to also
dispel and dismantle the stupid myth without the help of anyone.
You can't dispel Buhari's myth for him, his stupidity, his cluelessness,
his lack of know-how is legendary in fact, no one can or could have
dispelled that myth and larger than thou persona about him better than
himself.
Glad that Buhari is the president of Nigeria today and we have come to
know that he is all mouth and no action, that there is nothing to him
but just an empty myth surrounding a very empty old man.
Yes, Buhari is a very big myth and nothing can or could have prepared
us for what he has come to be and represent today.
Buhari is nothing but an empty vessel full of cows dung and nothing
else.
So happy that we now know him.
You see us that is what we would have been saying if Buhari was not
foisted on us. I know us that is how we roll we are Nigerians.
What a relieve really?
Good day mbok. |

Foreign Affairs / Eritrea Makes Move Asking Men To Marry At-least Two Wives Or Face Imprisonment by speeder(m): 10:00am On Jan 26, 2016 |
Many people’s reaction to polygamous marriage could be summed up in one word: yuck. They assume the men are perverted or have a huge ego or are overly sexual. Quite to the contrary some relationships do actually work. That said, in a memo making rounds on social media, posted by activists the Government of Eritrea is alleged to have asked men to marry at least two wives due to acute shortage of men occasioned by casualties during the civil war with Ethiopia. The memo which is written in Arabic highlights the government’s alleged support of the matter. According to translation by the activists the memo reads; “Based on the law of God in polygamy, and given the circumstances in which the country is experiencing in terms of men shortage, the Eritrean department of Religious Affairs has decided on the following .” The memo also outlines that failure to comply attracts a life imprisonment sentence with hard labour. The memo has since excited Kenyan men with some already offering to change their nationality and moving to Eritrea, well if wishes were horses beggars would ride. One user on Facebook said; “At this rate, I can see the Eritrea Government spreading new embassy outlets in Kakamega, Embu, Siaya and Busia counties to help hasten visa processing” The memo is yet to be confirmed as authentic communication from the Eritrean government with certain faults such as failure of translation in official national languages, Tigrinya and Tigre. Politics / Nigeria Would Have Collapsed, If Jonathan Had Won — Oshiomhole by speeder(m): 8:39am On Dec 20, 2015 |
•As he receives over 5,000 PDP decampees into APC By Simon Ebegbulem , Benin City •As he receives over 5,000 PDP decampees into APC By Simon Ebegbulem , Benin City GOVERNOR Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State said, yesterday, that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under President Goodluck Jonathan squandered the resources of the country and that of its members. While he pointed out that things had changed positively since the coming of President Muhammadu Buhari, he, however, asserted that “it will take time to clean up the mess of the past”. Oshiomhole stated this while receiving over 5,000 members of the PDP in the three senatorial districts of Edo including the immediate past Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Power, Patrick Ikhariale; Abbas Braimah; and Bisi Idaomi. The decampees were received into the party by Oshiomhole, assisted by some governorship aspirants of the APC, such as former Governor Osarhiemen Osunbor and Gen.Charles Airhiavbere, who had on several occasions urged the PDP leaders to forget pride and join Oshiomhole in moving the state forward. “For the first time, big people are being asked to account, in the past we only hear of governors, local government people, commissioners but this time we are seeing Minister of Finance confessing like a witch craft how they took money and even co-opt their children so they didn’t just share money for the party they shared for their families. When a Minister pays money into her own personal account, we have seen national security being redefined to meet the security of a political party to secure the party in office rather than secure the nation even in the face of a devastating insurgency”, the governor stated. Politics / Federal High Court Orders Immediate Release Of Biafran Leader, Nnamdi Kanu by speeder(m): 12:37pm On Dec 17, 2015 |
The Federal High Court in Abuja today, December 17, has ordered
immediate and unconditional release of the Director of Radio Biafra,
Nnamdi Kanu, bail.
High Court Decides Kanu’s Bail Application
Presiding over a bail application filed by Egechukwu Obetta, Kanu’s
counsel, Justice Ademola Adeniyi ordered that the Biafra agitator be
released.
Adeniyi’s order came after Obetta challenged the continuous detention
of his client by the State Security Services (SSS) following an order
obtained from the Federal High Court to detain Kanu for 90 days.
But Obetta in his submissions said the SSS had fraudulently
approached the court to obtain the order even while the case was
before a chief magistrate, Shuaibu Usman of the magistrate court in
Abuja.
Obetta asked the court to revoke its order which alleged that Kanu was
being investigated for terrorism and terrorism funding by the SSS.
Also speaking on today’s court ruling, Obetta said this order is a
victory for justice and democracy.
Kanu, who is also the Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra has
been in the DSS custody since October when he was arraigned by the
DSS operatives in Lagos and moved to Abuja.

Arguing, the counsel to the DSS, Mr. Moses Idakwo, objected to
Kanu’s bail application and asked the court not to admit the suspect
on bail because he was allegedly involved in terrorism acts.
A Magistrate Court sitting in Abuja on December 16 discharged the
cases against Kanu. However, his lawyer Vuincent Obette said that
Biafra leader is yet to be released from the custody. Source: https://www.naij.com/669897-breaking-high-court-decides-kanus-bail- application.html |

In her words exactly So, social commentator and activist Kayode Ogundamisi tweeted this today...he didn't mention any names but I am now trending on Twitter. Many assume he's talking about me...and you can't blame them really. He said...popular! I'm somewhat popular! He said female.. I'm female...duh! Lol. He said Lagos...I live in Lagos...in a posh place called Banana Island..lol. #Flipsweave! #Just teasing! So people are reacting and some actually believe it! That PDP or someone in the party gave me N240m? For what? Advert? This was why I didn't want to get politics advert money in the first place o...and but then some of you advised that I do when I asked here and now see the gbege that I have entered...lol. But seriously for the record...no party registered or unregistered, no human being dead or alive gave me N240m for anything. The only advert I did for PDP was a page background take-over for former president Jonathan... and they asked for the space after I did a page background take-over for APC's Akinwunmi Ambode. (I'm sure you all saw it). The two parties paid me same amount. I had a politics advert rate which I sent to everyone who wanted to advertise on LIB! And it was a few millions ...which some of you followed to chop inside in the giveaway that April...lol. #Kidding! Anyway, all these bad belle people looking for ways to bring a woman down...like I always say...you can't! Except you're mightier than God! Whether you like it or not, I'm a hardworking young woman who God chose to bless the work of her hand and is using me to bless others. Get over it! I am here to stay! Not going nowhere! *wink*. Make I go find una more news ojare! Source: http://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2015/12/wait-popular-female-blogger-received.html?m=1 |

Politics / Buhari To Leave For South Africa On 3rd December - Garba by speeder(m): 4:46pm On Dec 02, 2015 |
President Buhari will leave for South Africa tomorrow December 3rd to participate in the Forum on China/Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). A statement issued by the Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, says that during the forum Buhari will have a meeting with Chinese president, Xi Jinping, on how to re-commence stalled rail projects under new terms that would see China providing nearly all the financing required. The statement in part reads "Of particular interest is the coastal railway project stretching for 1,402 kilometres linking Lagos in the west with Calabar in the South; a project that is expected to be financed with $12 billion Chinese loan and which will create about 200,000 jobs. Another rail project that will be up for renegotiation is the $8.3bn Lagos- Kano standard gauge modernisation project, of which only a segment, Kaduna-Abuja, had reached completion stage. President Buhari is also expected to discuss ways of removing all obstacles in the way of the 3,050 MW Mambila Power Station, considered a strategic project which was conceived in 1982 but has not taken off. The Chinese president had informed President Buhari of the willingness of his country to finance the whole project through a special loan agreement," the statement said. Those to accompany him on the trip are Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyema; Minister of Transportation, Chubuike Amaechi; and the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah. They are expected back to the country on Saturday December 5th. Source: http://www.lindaikejisblog.com/2015/12/president-buhari-leaves-for-south.html?m=1

Nice compilation judges. Some judges though are too lenient to be fooled. How can a judge give the winners 50 in RR. We deserve that too. We followed the strick rule of Renga. I'm just thinking it's cos they wrote their names on every Stanza which we did but in different way. We refused doing it cos it might stop the flow. Anyways, I pray I'm here next year so I might do better. Thank You. We poled 90.1 percent. |

Contestants 56 (TheAgba and speeder) Phone numbers (Speeder: 08096809091, TheAgba:0811 124 9423) NB (Every Stanza involves two sections. The haiku and the couplet. Every haiku is composed by Speeder and every couplet is composed by TheAgba ) Structure of the poem: To create a Renga, one poet writes the first stanza , which is three lines long with a total of seventeen syllables – the same structure as a haiku. The next poet adds the second stanza, a couplet with seven syllables per line {5-7-5-7-7}. The second stanza repeats the structure of the first (another haiku and couplet) alternating in this pattern until the poem is completed. RIDICULOUSNESS OF NATURE Stanza 1 Nature has played foul Cursed to make winter so cold While the spring burns deep Only burns in Sahara And frosts in America. Stanza 2 What say you of Jane? Birthed with no hands and limbs Indeed! Nature flopped Jane's mom to blame for her warp Antenatal she took for dart. Stanza 3 Plagued with the DISEASE Cancer, it is called- from hell; Cursed. No drug for cure Truly, nature played falsely The knowing brings death quickly Stanza 4 The earthquake it brought Men with power to condemn- It muted with sleep Much mysteries it thus evoke When God cooks, you don't see smoke Stanza 5 Noah's rain of flood surged on The rainbow out to mock us Cause homes and lands lost Some poets can be shortsighted Relevance of rain misjudged Stanza 6 Breeze, nature calls it The violence of the said breeze Torments us yet daily Necessary evil we take on We gain, we loose. We move on. Stanza 7 It yet amazes me The frequency of bane wars That plunders with smile From Genesis it took root I pray an exodus boots. Stanza 8 It brought class structure Bourgeois, Proletariats Creating a rift Those with power to grab, grab Evolution becomes crap Stanza 9 If ten years was mine I'll curse Nature in Eleven And honour the loss Unanswering to its queries Its merits, nice like berries. Stanza 10 Of Dying questions Lacking plausible answers The God of the gaps Prides itself of great havoc Dances like a god invoked Stanza 11 Come thee Poseidon I beckon you Hephaestus What wait you Ares I call upon you pissed gods Avenge me without remorse ANALYSIS The poem is an anti-romantic poem. Many poets writes about the beauty of nature forgetting about the disastrous consequences of loving nature. The poets here try to point out the Ridiculousness of Nature. Although, the poets have conflicting ideas. Since the renga poem involves more than one poet, the writer of the haiku seems to capture the sinister effects of nature in the haiku, the second poet tries as much to exonerate nature in the couplet. Poetic Devices Similes : S9L5: "its merit, nice like berries" S10L5: "Dances like a god invoked" Metaphors : S1L4: "Only burns in Sahara" S4L5: "When God cooks, you don't see smoke" S7L2: "The frequency of bane wars" Euphemism : S4L3: "It muted with sleep" Allusions : S5L1: "Noah's rain of flood surged on" (biblical) S11L1: "Come thee Poseidon" (classical) S11L2: "I beckon you Hephaestus" (classical) S11L3: "What wait you Ares" (classical) Inversion : S2L1: "What say you of Jane?" Repetition : S8L4: "Those with power to grab, grab" Rhyme Scheme : Every couplet rhymes Oxymoron : S6L4: "Necessary evil we take on" Paradox : S10L3: "God of the gaps" Personifications : S5L2: "The rainbow out to mock us" S6L1: "Breeze, nature calls it" Proverb: S4L5: "When God cooks, you don't see smoke"(Kenyan proverb). 4 Likes 3 Shares |
