jdilight: Has anyone registered any success with online marketing, if yes what was your marketing strategy. New media marketing is not a success for every product. Really, before you start any marketing campaign, you need to understudy your demographics. Who are your customers? What age range, what is their background/level of exposure and how/where can you find them. If you are in a line of business with customers who aren't technology savvy, it would be a waste of effort to utilise new media in advertising. |

jdilight: l had a friend post my product on her facebook wall with her contact. For every sale made through her contact she gets a commission. ls a dead end deal because l never come in contact with her buyers though am the one that owns the product. I don't quite understand your angle. Is this strategy working for you? Why don't you get to meet the buyers? Is she a supplier/distributor of your product? Why can't you have your own social media marketing for your products? Are you okay with the "dead end" deal? So many questions I know, but that is how I get to know stuff |

X3n: I hope you conducted extensive research before embarking on this endeavour? I have strong reasons for asking, just so you are prepared enough not to get discouraged along the way. A lot of people are venturing into online real estate advertising because they see those who have invested heavily in it thriving. Mistake they make is to assume, assume and assume!!! All the best though and great thinking to get yourself occupied. |

Madam, I am really excited at the direction you are leading your life A woman of virtue MUST be industrious, MUST be enterprising. How do you juggle all three business activities without any suffering? Personally, I like to have various businesses that revolves around my passions, interests, hoobies and specialised skills.Lol. So, please talk about how you manage your time to deliver excellently on these activities, we can learn, share and most importantly YOU will be able to use it as a basis for evaluation, maybe check your focus level. Finally, please STOP calling yourself a hustler, you are an entrepreneur. |

jdilight: You summed it all up in this last post. It is not necessarily in the volume of output but in the strategic ways that you devise to retain customers. Whether you are operating on a small or big scale, the customers will come back because of the incentives. If your volume is low, it doesn't mean you aren't making profits and you can still find means of exciting your customers without cutting in on profits. But then you are in a products focused business whilst I'm in the service(intangible products), this makes your observation worth holding to heart. |

Jdilight, thank you for bringing me back to this thread (unfortunately there is no smiley hug). Bodashee: thumbs up! Being entrepreneurial is an awesome gift. As for advertising, the most effective is recommendation from satisfied customers. One may spend billions on advertising budget but bad PR from one dis-satisfied customer can ruin years of hardwork. We see cases of bad PR here on NL. On building a trusted network of referrals, focus on quality and excellence. You can also find innovative means of staying etched in the memory of your customers. Excellent customer service is far fetched in our society but a few smart entrepreneurs take advantage of that lapse and have an ever increasing chain of loyal customers. To build you customer base, you might want to try deliveries at schools, build relationship with the head teacher and start delivering during their end of year parties and also when a student is having a birthday celebration. Same for corporate organisations, go with some free quantity for the staff and keep in touch! You know these organizations usually also have end of year parties and other celebrations. You must have a nice catchy business card. Also, endeavour to reward any client that lands you a worthy deal. Let them know what they stand to gain by telling someone else about you, (maybe a significant discount on their next order). And as Amtheone rightly pointed out, stay focused!!! All the best dear and I leave us all with this quote I learnt from a great mentor: "The one who advances confidently in the direction of his dreams and strives to live the life he imagines will meet with unexpected success in common hours". |

Joshthefirst: please read my post again for clarification. Sir, you are ignorant. The gospel of Christ is called good news and what does good news do if not to make the hearer feel good! Jesus said I have come that you may have life and have it in abundance! The proof that you have encountered Jesus is that you have the spirit of God living inside you and one of the fruits of the spirit is joy, peace is also another fruit! This is not to say the christian life is devoid of challenges, it simply means that in the midst of chaos you experience the peace that passes all understanding and you are also joyful because you have the assurance that you are coming out triumphant! Gods word says, with JOY shall you draw waters out of the wells of salvation! A lot of people assume they are saved, they haven't received the total package of salvation that is why they are easily tossed! Please seek the truth for ONLY then shall YOU be truly SET FREE. |

Whilst thanking God I didn't watch the show to see Dennis win, I can't deny there's just ONE thing I learnt from the guy with the nasty attitude; HUNGER, PASSION, ZEAL. He said no one had the hunger that he had. Obviously, it was that hunger that drove him to success!!! Congrats Dennis and hope you can sustain this success by rebranding your personality. 1 Like |

Nairaland / General / 5 Ways To Work Smarter, Not Harder by spicyv1(f): 4:57pm On Oct 31, 2013 |
It doesn’t matter whether you’re an employee or a business owner, being savvy with the way you manage your time at work is key as it allows you to be more productive, get home earlier, and feel more satisfied at the end of the day. Unfortunately many people tend to do the opposite when things get hectic, and instead of managing their time more effectively they find themselves working longer hours and feeling burnt out by the end of the week. So how can you actually work smarter instead of harder when the going gets tough? Here’s how… Shorter Hours, More Productivity 1. Re-assess If you’re working long hours something needs to change otherwise you’ll burn out. So first and foremost, sit down and look at what isn’t working. Where are the biggest challenges in your day? How can you eliminate or reduce them? Consider the people you work with, the systems (or lack of) that you use, the way you approach your day, and the technology required to get your job done. Where are the pitfalls or glitches? Write them down and then consider your alternatives. It’s critical that you address what isn’t working first if you want to work smarter. 2. Plan your day If you want to get out of the office earlier it’s imperative that you have a plan and know EXACTLY what your day needs to look like to get out of that door on time. Plan your day the night before and schedule time in your diary for the 3 most important tasks that must be completed the following day. Those tasks should be directly aligned with your key job objectives, and should leave you feeling satisfied by the end of the day when they’re done … if they won’t, pick something else! 3. Learn to delegate If you’re trying to do everything yourself have a look around and see who can help you. By learning to let go and delegate you’ll free up precious time to work on what’s really important. And if you don’t have anyone to delegate to, look at how you can outsource, or bring on additional help to build your team. 4. Mix things up Being stuck in your ways and insisting on a certain process just because it’s the way you’ve always done things won’t help you get more savvy with your time. Look at the key tasks you do every week and consider how you could do them differently to save time and work smarter. By embracing change, and being open to new ways of doing things, you’ll open yourself up to new technology, systems and processes that will help you work more effectively and efficiently. 5. Be Precious Time is your most precious commodity, so don’t let other people muck around with it. Interruptions can play havoc with your productivity, soaking up almost 25% of your work day, so make sure you schedule blocks in your diary for ‘focused’ time where you are free from ringing phones, pinging email, chatterbox colleagues and Facebook updates. You’ll get the important stuff done much more quickly if you give it the time and attention it deserves, uninterrupted. By Faiye Hollands- Outshine Consulting. 2 Likes |

Kanwulia: 2. Men are not built to be MONOGAMOUS. Oga pls talk about what you know only! The God that created man, made ONE wife for him! He said 'I will make A suitable companion for him, He didn't make MANY suitable companions! You better change that warped mentality of yours, it will only lead to your doom! Your life anyways and your choice, but don't carry on decieving others. 1 Like |

Anuoluwap: At this stage no one would want to come last in challenges. Why are you still thinking that there's favoristism in evictions? Martha survived so many evictions being lucky not that she's impressive or strong or won any challenge on her own. So why are you not getting the logic of eviction? Kunle already evicted himself when his arm-band came off. This is GUS hope you can remember previous seasons where the contestants were given pebbles(Lost a pebble and you're out) Well Tracy lost something and it affected her performance, still she wasn't evicted. |
