I perfectly understand how you feel, having been at that same address.

The truth is, it is the knowledge of Gods word that puts you over. When you faith begins to waver, it is a sign that your spirit is low on the needed dosage of the word! Faith comes by hearing, constantly hearing the word that addresses that challenge. You have that word and when the enemy trys to sow doubt the deposit of the word is used by the HolySpirit to raise a standard against the enemy.

I have been trusting God for a major shift in my life and there are days I just feel overwhelmed but the interesting thing to note is just as the feeling is about to rise, I hear myself begin to speak Gods word, pray in the HolyGhost and my faith jacks back up!!!

You do NOT experience the presence of the HolySpirit by repenting and stopping all sins! You receive the HolySpirit by faith when you accept eternal life through salvation. Infact, you CANNOT stop the act of sin without having the HolySpirit. You believe first, receive and then renew your mind by knowing Gods word and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. The result is a renewed mind.

Op: to receive the baptism, with evidence of speaking in tongues, you need to desire and believe. Jesus said that the sign of speaking with new tongues shall follow them that believe. It is in the believing and not in "growing in the spirit". How do you even grow when you can't communicate with the language He understands?

What can really help you is to locate a word based church and attend foundation class.

I dream and choose the verdict I want in reality. Once, I dreamt my older brother came to Nigeria to see me and had strands of grey hair. In the dream I started sobbing and asking him why he looked that way. Same day he called me, I screamed because the coincidence seemed too great, I told him the dream and he said he came into the country a few weeks back and the kind of stress he had been through is enough to cause sudden old age.

Several years back, my dad was on life support in the states. I decided to wait on God through fasting and strategic midnight prayers because I began to have a recurring dreeam and also realised I used to have that strange dream while I was in the University. On the third night, after my midnight prayers, the Holy Spirit asked me to read Ps 28:6, at first I ignored because I assumed it was my voice within, but I was troubled inside and obeyed! Lo and behold, it was a direct confirmation that the battle was over! I thanked God and rested.

Subsequently, I had another dream where my dad was in the same room with me and I saw another image of him advancing, I became confused and asked someone else who was in the same room with me who the advancing fellow was, and the person said that was death coming to take my dad! I stood up and began to pray intongues, he kept advancing and my dad in the room was about getting up to meet him. I stood between both of them whilst praying in tongues and shouting NO! You shall not die. Suddenly the approaching image began to retreat and I began to move whilst still praying in tongues untill he was no more in sight.

Within a month, I got information that my dad was no more on life support and had been discharged!

I believe God lets us have a glimpse of spiritual occurences through dreams but I believe more strongly, that I can turn verdicts that are unpleasant in dreams to a pleasant reality by the word of God.
