Fulaman198: Good stuff, Json definitely seems like the better language whereas XML like HTML is a markup language. So I see your point. JSON is not a language. It is a data structure, so there's no learning to it. No body writes JSON data, it is generated and parsed by a library. There's also no learning to XML. It is a custom tagged markup language. |

GeneralShepherd: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/educationnews/11601739/International-students-key-to-UK-economy.html
This article highlights the difference between UK and competing economies in terms of immigration policy towards foreign students.
I am here in the UK, my future is very promising however I will Always tell other Nigerian students that there are FAR more better options in terms of foreign countries to study in than the UK. The article highlights the, obvious, implication of the removal of the PSW. What you should compare is the quality of education and job prospects, rather than PSW, in determining the best country to go and STUDY. The problem is that you're mixing priorities here. Your audience are coming to study and look for graduate jobs eventually. The economy is bad globally, so don't blame the UK for the strict rules. The message is simple, if you cannot fund your education for its duration and get a graduate job, don't bother. The menial jobs is for those who're already here |

GeneralShepherd: In Canada at least you get automatic work permit which makes getting a job easy. I have not gotten a job yet but I have 2 interviews pending after assessment centre.
I consider this impressive given that I am studying a specialised oil and gas course, so don't make it sound like I am bitter or anything.
The possibilities are extremely difficult in the UK giving the stringent work visa requirements for international students. Automatic work permit doesn't make it easier to get jobs, it just gives you more time to look for graduate jobs while working menial jobs. Most people do not look for graduate jobs with that opportunity and just settle for menial jobs. I, am not making it sound like you're bitter. YOU are making it so. What exactly is the stringent work visa requirements? To get a graduate job within 4 months after graduation? Which most people get before even graduating. The truth is that, psw does not determine whether you get a graduate job or not. Your experiences and result does. |

40manlappy: Dear Nairalanders,
I work with one of the commercial banks in the country. There is a directive from top management in my bank that officers of my grade have to mobilize a fresh deposit of N500M before the end of June 2015.
I would appreciate assistance from all quarters because I have not gotten another job yet and funds mobilization has been very tough this year.
Useful and fruitful leads, contacts etc. would be greatly appreciated.
My bank can give up to 12% pa on a deposit of N250M and 13% pa on N500M if placed as fixed deposit for a period of 90 days.
Mods and Supermods, please help me move this to front page so that I can get the required assistance. God bless you in advance. For your bank to give you such target, you must be in a high ranking position. Therefore, you should have had a lot of contacts by now. This is the time to use those. Make your contacts move their accounts to your bank or make you their account official. Offer incentives from the rate and make your bank increase their rates in favour of a certain amount. Don't take this situation the wrong way, your bank needs you just like you need them now. So make offers and demands on both sides |

GeneralShepherd: I never said it doesn't work at all, however the ratio is too small. It is unarguable that the immigration policy is other countries are better than UK's I wonder where you got the data to determine the ratio Now you're vouching for other countries as if you have first hand experience. I believe everyone's path can never be the same. Some come fully prepared and made a lot of plans. Others, well, you know |

I'd like to say a big thank you to Justwise, Jarus and every other person who at some point was a source of inspiration.
I'll also like to encourage every one presently studying in the UK; Keep your head up!!!…. It will pay off eventually.
One line of advice; "Study to understand…and not just to pass". Your certification will get your foot in the door…. but it's your knowledge that will get you a seat in the room. Also for those who'll be rounding up this summer; start sending your applications to companies you wish to work for. (The recruitment process could take a while for some organisation(s)
God willing; i'll be resuming at my new office in 12 days time.
Investment Banking; Yes!!!…. I'm in Congratulations man. GeneralShepherd, you see, It pays off for some people. Stop trying to discourage others with irrelevances |

justwise: If he can afford to be traveling to Coventry by train at least 3 times weekly then he got no financial problem.
I was referring to bus journey which is cheaper.
Yes people commute to London from far places for some obvious reason but it's risky when you get caught especially when you live outside London borough. Yep, the cost would be the problem. I wasn't even referring to that. I still do not understand what you mean by getting caught. Does home office mandate students to live close to the University? |

Since you have a lot of people in the UK if they can help you financially then when you graduate you have sometimes to work and pay back. Actually, Northampton to Coventry is 33 mins by train. And really, I have never heard of anyone getting in trouble for not living around the school. I mean, people commute everyday to London from far places. |

You have all the time in the world, How about you start proving me wrong.....I don't know when this became a contest though but in the spirit of using your words. What are you proving. The lady made a statement, I made my contribution. What are you on about? It is not a fight, okay. For the fact that she's ready to pay around £10,000 gives her the right to chose the best school that would offer her better education and future prospects. She doesn't have to chose any shitty school just cos she came from Nigeria. Your argument there was overly myopic, but you would understand better when you meet people here who studied for 3 years and a masters and still couldn't get a worthwhile job. |

Lol, Pweedy B I hope you are joking?
where is your first degree from again, Imperial, Cambridge or Oxford. There are 2 main bodies that rank UK Universities if I can call them that. Times University and Guardian. If you go on to the Guardian, that same RGU goes up the rank by 4. You cannot go by those rankings . That is not to say you should go and attend the bottom 3 Universities on the tables, however if you are aiming for only the best of the best may as well stick with the top 5, they rarely if ever change.
And if you schooled in some Nigerian University, you shouldn't really be casting stones at RGU. FYI,I schooled in Nigeria
Shalom You have no point here. I don't even know where to begin to prove you wrong |

Q: What is wrong with this query: "SELECT * FROM table WHERE id = $_POST [ 'id' ]" ? You cannot have the single quotes of an array index when the array is in a double quote. It is a syntax error. Therefore, "SELECT * FROM table WHERE id = $_POST [ id ]" Pls post reasonable questions, this is really too basic |
