@ richylaw
well , seems to me like she does like your friend (at this point i don't know if to use the word love) but still clings to the memories of the 8 year relationship.Girls have a way wanting to marry a guy their parents have endorsed because of the "i-told-you-so"  factor if the marriage goes wrong. your friend still has some time before the u.k guy breezes into the country. he should really talk to her one on one and find out her true feelings. thats the only way. infact when a man looks into a woman's eyes when the chips are down, he'll know if he has lost to another.
he has to sort things out now because once that guy's plane touches down she'll be caught up in the mantra of everyone singing "her husband has come". and she wont be able to decide without bias.
its a tough one but if your friend doesnt get this girl then it wasnt meant to be. undecided
i feel for him and i don't even know him.  cry all he did was fall in love. but if shes his, she'll come willingly not at gun point!
Family › Re: How Did Your Husband Propose? by spoilt(f): 2:16am On Apr 15, 2007
area boy thanks for pointing out that the situation of the country is making our men more unromantic than necessary. just try and not use your frustrations on girls.
Family › Re: My Fiancee's Parent Says "No" by spoilt(f): 2:14am On Apr 15, 2007
@richylaw
you say your friend has only dated her for 5 months? is he truly in love or is he still in the chest-banging stage of early romance? does he know her very well? 5 months isnt a very long time. besides when he started dating her did she give her word that she was done with the u.k guy? or was your friend just the stop gap guy? he may not want to loose this tug of war for the lady but what's the point marrying her (if he wins) and she keeps pining away for the guy she did 8 years with? it will be tragic!

why are men always scared of their wives' exes? but think its ok to keep talking to their own ex girlfriends? undecided
Family › Re: My Fiancee's Parent Says "No" by spoilt(f): 2:01am On Apr 15, 2007
but who does the girl love? all our speculations are a waste of typing. who is she tending towards? in a woman's heart she knows who she wants even though she may be bullied into picking someone else! undecided

@area boy
african guys mean well but sometimes their agression is intimidating. it makes women get defensive and become a little bit more masculine just to be able to cope. (not good!) undecided

and you're not ugly. hope you find the right woman for yourself. behind all that giri-giri is probably a good heart. we just want to be able to see it. grin
Family › Re: How Did Your Husband Propose? by spoilt(f): 1:29am On Apr 15, 2007
i think a guy getting on bended knee is kind of corny.i think its even the sappiness of it that is endearing. grin. i would laugh my head off. you dont have to do that to prove you are romantic. there are a billion other ways. romance is about doing what other guys wouldnt do just to make her feel special. it doesnt make you less of a man.
Family › Re: How Did Your Husband Propose? by spoilt(f): 1:05am On Apr 15, 2007
area boy because we say we want romantic doesnt mean you have to get on your knees. just be a little imaginative. you dont have to demand to see my parents. naija guys are too giri-giri. their shakara sef. cant they be humble for once and ask nicely? grin

Family › Re: How Did Your Husband Propose? by spoilt(f): 11:48pm On Apr 14, 2007
area boy cool down oh! grin
you think because a guy is not romantic the marriage will last longer?
try to be more tender towards your lady. it doesnt cost anything extra. i know naija guys look at the cost of everything. romance doesnt have to cost a penny.

Family › Re: Divorce by spoilt(f): 4:42pm On Apr 14, 2007
thank God you have brothers to help.
plan your move quietly and secretly because he may not receive it well if you tell him. make sure your brothers are in the apartment when your things are being moved out. this is to avoid any confrontation. or you can move your stuff while he is not at home. (this is one situation where its ok to be cowardly!)
the trial seperation you mentioned is good. maybe while you guys are apart he'll straighten up and step up to the plate. are you going to be living alone? if you are, make sure you have a security device on your door and a good alarm system. you can never underestimate the desperation of a scorned husband. i watch the news everyday with reports of women killed by ex husbands and boyfriends. better still if you can live with a family member or brother. your safety first!
he should still be able to see his child (you cant deny him that). that means he'll be coming around you a lot so you have to make sure there are people around when he visits. and make sure you see your education to a conclusive end. being a single mother is the hardest thing on earth so you should be able to hold your own. i wish you luck.
I'm a donor. It's on my State ID card. When my mom saw it she asked me to change it but I ignored her.

Why be selfish even in death?
i told my mom. the poor woman freaked big time. she say's i'll surface at the pearly gates hollow! an empty shell! thats so funny! but im going to do it anyway. its the right thing to do.
Family › Re: Divorce by spoilt(f): 3:07am On Apr 14, 2007
some of your problems may be due to your cultural differences.(he's already refering to your american ways!)
didnt you guys communicate before marriage and agree to make compromises?

nigerian men arent very affectionate and lovey dovey. not to say they arent caring. they just dont do a lot of things american guys do in the name of love! undecided nigerian women really do not expect a lot of affection and romance.( we just watch real romance on tv and dream). has he always been unaffectionate or is it recent?

anyway that said, if you suspect he's a fraudster you better plan your escape and take your baby. she's better off with you! do you have family? people may think a fraudulent spouse is not grounds for divorce but living in fear everyday while waiting for the police to come for him is nerve wracking. im sure you know that already.
you say he has physically pushed you? it always starts with pushing, then shoving and then the wacking starts. you dont have to put up with it. he needs to go for anger management theraphy, which then again a lot of nigerians think is a waste of time.

at the end of the day, i believe in saving marriages even if they are on their last legs. try talking and then talking some more. one thing i know though is that you can only talk and reason with a reasonable person. i hope he is able to forget about getting rich quick and getting a real job and repairing your family. good luck!
Health › Would You Donate Your Vital Organs? by spoilt(op): 2:46am On Apr 14, 2007
im seriously considering becoming an organ donor! im not kidding. i want to donate my kidneys, heart, liver, eyes, and everything else salvageable.
im in the process of getting the pink sticker on my drivers licence signifying my donor status. i know most nigerians aren't that open minded yet. when i die(if i die! grin)my vital organs could save lives. would you guys donate? especially to a perfect stranger?would it be easier if its an immediate family member who needs a vital organ? would you give up a kidney or part of your liver for anyone?
