He still loses. . . Nigerians don't want him, plain and simple.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Betrayed By Acn by spoOne: 1:03pm On Apr 17, 2011
Load of Crap_ he's simply not qualified to rule in a non-dictatorship, except in the eyes of the northerners of course.
PoliticsRe: Atiku, Ibb, Gusau & Ciroma Will Be Flushed Out Of Pdp by spoOne: 12:58pm On Apr 17, 2011
They don't need to be flushed. . . they'll simply fade away; since no Nigerian will vote them into power again. . . ok maybe just the northerners, but that wont be enough.

you no weak for these kind of people, Nigerians want a change by entrenching same people in power. Americans wanted a change they voted Obama, the least expected man from unexpected race to lead them because they are able to see beyond any bigots, all they saw was solution to their problem.
Nigerian wanted a change so they voted the perceived best presidential candidate from a minority tribe and arguably the most marginalized region of the country – I don’t see the contradiction between what is happening in Nigeria and the US.

They voted for the perceived best presidential candidate - they should be commended for carrying out their civil duties, like every other Nigerian that voted in this general election.
PoliticsRe: But Was It Really Free And Fair? by spoOne: 11:23am On Apr 17, 2011
Free and Fair enough. . . at least at this stage of democratic polity in Nigeria. The question should be is it better than last general election? I would say yes. . . so that's progressive.

In the grand scheme of thing, SE and SS do not matter.

They are inconsequential.
I guess so if you want to rig your way pass over 50 million potential votes and numerous states. You have to wake up to the new reality.
PoliticsRe: Would Gej Be Showing Signs of Victory Without The Sw Votes? by spoOne: 10:45am On Apr 17, 2011
The North, SW, and SE are all critical to any election. . . any 2 can tilt any election. The electorate in general becoming more and more sophisticated; they are not just voting along party lines or tribal affiliation, but more on the individual candidate's percieved ability to move the country forward. Ribadu is a greenhorn when it comes to politics . . . I think a mis- calculation on the part of ACN. If Fashola was presented as candidate, he would have won. . . or give Jonathan a serious run for his money. Whilst all that is said, I also feel Nigeria wants to break the Northern idealogy, of being born leaders. . . so some of the vote for Jonathan represents a non-vote for another Northerner. And we maybe getting to the point where tribal/party lines are blured in Nigerian politics.
PoliticsRe: Presidential Election, 16th April, 2011 by spoOne: 10:17am On Apr 17, 2011
A vote for Jonathan = a non-Vote for another Northerner. . .
The only people that need another Northern Leader are the Northerners themselves. A vote for Jonathan is not necessarily a vote for PDP.  .  . Fashola wins in 2015, hands down if Jonathan is unable to transform the country, whether he stays in ACN or moves to another party. The Nigerian electorate, in general, have gotten much smarter than a lot of people give them credit for. . . this' what we are seeing at the polls.

Yeah right, only a foo.l will never realise that people can never be satisfied, so you are not worried about his current tenure, but OF HIS SECOND TENURE! Thats Wonderfull,

For one, i think that there are very few Nigerians who can hold a Governorship post that will not enrich themselves just a bit, even this few i cannot name because tbh i do not know if there is really anyone, What the people want is not someone who will Govern them and go poor in the process because he wants to be too good, if you do that the same people who you sacrificed for will be the very same people to laugh at you in the end, what is needed is someone who has conscience and will not be greedy enough to TAKE IT ALL , OR HAVE YOU NOT HEARD THAT IN THE LAND OF THE BLIND, A ONE-EYED MAN IS A KING, which means "As far as we know, putting into consideration the greed of an average Nigerian man,,,,, oshiomhole is trying, BTW, DO NOT HIDE IN THAT US o, come and lets vote for you and see what you can do, TALK IS CHEAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP
Sorry to disappoint you. . . I am not a politician. But, I don't have to be to have an opinion about a public servant- I am only speaking from observation, albeit, from the outside. I see what the Lagos and Rivers Governors are doing for their respective states; quietly, I might add. But this guy is on the megaphone daily, saying how terrible other politicians are; and I think to myself is this not the same guy that had so many sham strikes . . . that he only gained from - leaving the poor students and labor unions to wither in the sun with nothing to show for their sacrifices. Oshiomole has one thing going for him. . . trickery of the masses.

This ugly guy seem to have the Edo electorate rapped around his fingers. . . may be because of their experience with biggest rogue of them all! – Igbinedion.

I think they will be more disappointed, if he’s re-elected – he’s only interested in chasing skirts around the world than worrying about the Edo people. He’s got them totally fooled with the ugly dressing at the market – to make ‘em think he’s one of them. The next time I see him in the US I am taking pictures. The guy is a complete fraud.

Nigeria Threatens to Shut Down Telecom Operators Breaking Rules
June 25, 2010, 4:22 AM EDT
By Vincent Nwanma

June 25 (Bloomberg) -- Nigeria will shut down any telecom operator flaunting a government directive for all subscribers of mobile phones to be registered, Minister of Communication and Information Dora Akunyili said on the state-owned Nigerian Television Authority late yesterday.

“If you don’t want to register SIM cards, please shut down before we shut you down,” Akunyili said at a meeting with representatives of the telecom operators, NTA reported.

Nigeria, which has the fastest growing telecom industry in Africa, began the registration of new subscribers in May. The exercise is aimed at curbing the use of mobile phones in crimes including armed robbery and kidnapping in Africa’s most populous nation. . .

Hopefully, big telecom don't bribe their way out of this - and unscrupulous politicians don’t derail the effort at the get go.

Armed robbers always fight for who gets the largest portion of their loot. . .

What are the differences between armed robbers and members of the national house of assembly?

1. Assembly members can rob Nigerians with impunity under the law they created without being persecuted, whilst the armed robber bribes the police so as to not get caught and persecuted.

. . . I am sure there are more differences, NL's can suggest, so we are not so supprised that these goons are shameless.

Nigerian President Faces Re-election Challenges Within Own Party
- Joe DeCapua 21 June 2010

In Nigeria, several prominent northern politicians have made it clear they don’t want President Goodluck Jonathan to run in next year’s elections. The opposition within the ruling PDP Party follows President Jonathan’s refusal to rule himself out of the race and leave the door open for a northern Nigerian candidate. . .

http://www1.voanews.com/english/news/africa/offor-nigeria-candidates-21jun10-96800099.html

The unscrupulous Northern oligarchy are shamelessly back at their greedy, and selfish games - whatever happened to democratic election. The people of Nigeria should decide who they want as their President.

Sky Blue:
Electoral reforms and allow states to generate their own power. None of these requires any great deal of funds but would make a huge difference. Note, I did not say he should fix the power problem.
seconded! complete deregulation of the power sector, with state price control legislation to protect the poor. It is definitely worth trying - the d a m n feds have not been able to move an inch, actually they have gone backwards 10 years or more. . . in this most fundamental technology!
