Politics / Governor Oshiomole Wins Award For . . . by spoOne: 9:57am On Sep 06, 2011 |
Most ineffective Most illegitimate - ( the real stolen mandate, albeit thru his buddy-buddy Judge) It is now official Benin is the capital of Kidnappings and other heinous crimes. And our loudmouth governor has no solution whatsoever – an ineffective/illegitimate gov imposed on the good people of Edo state. . . . . . . Kidnappers kill Benin musician after collecting N500,000 By Osagie Otabor, Benin9 hours 50 minutes ago A Benin, Edo State- based musician, Omoregbe Okpeyen, also known as Bayo Ade, was found dead yesterday after being kidnapped for more than 12 hours. His abductors collected N500,000 from his family. Bayo Ade was kidnapped by six armed men on Sunday morning at James Watt junction by Lagos Street in Benin. His band boys had set up the stage at the residence of the Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, where he was scheduled to perform for his pre-birthday celebration. His kidnapping and killing came one week after the Chairman of Tomline Company, Tes Soare, was abducted in front of his house while returning from church. Bayo Ade’s younger brother and manager, Peter Etchie (Jnr), said the kidnappers shot his brother in the leg. http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/news/18521-kidnappers-kill-benin-musician-after-collecting-n500-000.html |
Politics / Re: Lagos Roads Get Flooded Again! by spoOne: 11:45am On Sep 05, 2011 |
The Gov is not God, let’s blame global warming, over population, and centralized economic base. The federal government must do its share in decentralizing the country’s economic and business base. This should have been ensured before moving the Federal Capital from Lagos to Abuja. Once upon a time Lagos was not only the Federal Capital but also the Country’s business hub. . . and it is still the business hub; so the plan at the onset should have been to not only move the FCT to Abuja, but to also create other business centers across the country; in PH, Edo, Enugu, Onitsha, Warri etc. The Governor is doing the best he can do – the Federal Government must take it from here. |

As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after Thee, O God/Allah. My soul thirsteth for God/Allah, for the living God/Allah: 'When shall I come and appear before God/Allah?' My tears have been my food day and night, while they say unto me all the day: 'Where is Thy God/Allah?' These things I remember, and pour out my soul within me, how I passed on with the throng, and led them to the house of God/Allah, with the voice of joy and praise, a multitude keeping holyday. Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why moanest thou within me? Hope thou in God/Allah; for I shall yet praise Him for the salvation of His countenance. |

goodbobo: Most Nigerian hate military dictators and allies of the same; that kept them shackled for years. They want a free and democratic country – the Buharis of Nigeria are religious fundamentalist with autocratic ideologies – a free Nigeria will always reject these lots - I am not sure why this’ hard for you to come to grips with. |
Politics / Re: Coalition of Election Observers Ask Buhari, Others To Accept Results by spoOne: 8:25am On Apr 20, 2011 |
ahidjo: I think you are absolutely right – the International observers should have said the elections were rigged, this way southerners would not be maimed, killed, and churches burnt down by northerners. I am just a bit confused, do you really want a free and fair election as seen by outsiders, or you want rigged elections? I think what you'd want is: 1. Free and Fair election won by a northerner 2. Rigged election won by a northerner Conclusion- you are only interested in a northerner rulling the country. |

In the wake of unrest caused by illegal invaders in the northern states of Nigeria, the UN Is Proposing a NO-FLY-ZONE For all Northern Terrorists and providing buses to take them back to their countries up north. This will become permanent in the Nigerian state, as this ungrateful I DI OTS have over stayed their welcome… Any suggestions for revitalizing the barren lands in the Northern part of the Nigerian state, after these bone heads have been deported?

Politics / Re: Voting In Pdp - What A Dumb Move by spoOne: 8:01am On Apr 18, 2011 |
dayokanu: why not 80%?? If we agree that US have the freest and fairest elections, I can tell you states with voting stations that voted over 90% for Obama. Or should we also question the ACN sweep in SW in the NASS elections. . .as somehow being unscrupulous. I think that was fair and free, and so was the elction of this President. . . people voted for GEJ not for PDP. You can cry all you want, the facts wont change. . . and I am certain you are not smarter than 20m Nigerians. . . and you are not even the most tribal Nigerian. |

Kobojunkie: Would that change your opinion about this democratically elected president - in the freest and fairest elections in Nigeria. . . don't take my word for it; that's what all the foreign observers are saying. If it would I'd tell you the states. If you wan't this guy to fail, your prayers might come true - and you will still be looked down on in the US. . . with all the negative insinuations Nigerians live with in the diaspora. In the US all Yorubas, Igbos, Housas, and the minority groups you hate so much, are all refered to as Nigerians. I for one would like to be looked at and refered to, as person from a country with a thriving democracy and economy. So if it would change your mind I'll tell you what states. . . or you can do the ratios yourself. |
Politics / Re: Voting In Pdp - What A Dumb Move by spoOne: 5:54am On Apr 18, 2011 |
Kobojunkie:Are you also surprised that Buari got over 80% of the votes in a couple of northern states? Has it occurred to you that many people in Nigeria don’t want Buari or any other former dictator, trying to pretend they now believe in a democratic society? Or you are just too blinded by your biases that you can’t see what is happening in Nigeria? |

Politics / Re: It's Certain: Jonathan Has Won. by spoOne: 10:30pm On Apr 17, 2011 |
ekt_bear: It is not at all unusual to have 99% in a few states. . . it happened in the US in some states in the last presidential elections There are 8 states GEJ won with those kind of margines - this only proves that majority of the electorate believes he's the best man for the job. You can't go crying foul, when you have election observers, from foreign countries all saying these are the freeest elections in Nigeria so far. Let's move on and support the president - a better Nigeria benefits all. |

What a load of crap_ the northerners will soon realize that the landscape in Nigerian polity is changing - Majority of the Nigerian electorate are becoming smarter, as their political inclination seem to be blurring tribal and party lines when it comes to voting. But as expected the status quo remains in the North. . . but not for long. |
Politics / Re: Pop Sontin'! Its In The Bag by spoOne: 1:20pm On Apr 17, 2011 |
Sun of god: Not a good example, this guy was on Steroid, and all medels were stripped. Jonathan won outright, and he's more like the Obama of Nigeria . . . from a minority tribe and arguably the most marginalized region of the country. Hail to the Nigerian voters for seeing pass tribal/party lines to vote for the most qualified candidate. The Northerners will follow, come 2015. |
