Is it possible that these countries are sensing the weakness in our leadership – and hence going for the jugular? |
@Mbeki tap the "Caps Lock" key of your keyboard. And your posts seems to be making excuses for kidnapping. |
@OP Do you know the full name of this honorable officer - I once knew a senior officer, years ago, attached to the Edo State police commish office, with last name Bassey. This guy was so deligent in the recovery of my relative's car, we became friends. If this is the same officer, I won't be too surprised. Nonetheless, more power to this guy! |
netotse:My sentiments exactly. |
Greed! I am not perturbed - hard to find an exclussive news out of Nigeria. . . when news breaks, it is everywhere (at least those, I am interested in) |
This guy loves to get on the National scene with his megaphone and speaks of grandeur where there’s enough media, but delivers austerity in all aspects in his state. |
snowdrops:Word! |
agabaI23:Yes I saw that too. . . in Brazil - You must be the most stupid NLer. |
ohisng:The quick answer to your dumb questions. . . YES I HAVE PERSONAL INTEREST IN EDO STATE - No I don't really have to wait - Edo state currently leads the rest of the country in heinous crimes (Oshiom Ole's Government) - Yes my belly aches for the state whenever one of her law-abiding citizens is kidnapped - And yes the Governor first and foremost is responsible for the wellbeing of the citizens of the state, that includes protection of life and property, as required in the 1999 constitution. I am sure you have other Cockamamie reasons why the governor should be absolved of all responsibility for the complete melt down of the state during his tenure. |
The law abiding citizens of Edo State, specifically Benin are under siege by kidnappers, and the Oshiom Ole’s government has no real solution. . . just hot air. Can this so-called activist really govern? And why is the state Assembly not trying to impeach him for non-performance? Edo NUJ condemns ITV GM’s abduction By Gabriel Enogholase BENIN—Edo State Council of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has condemned in strong terms the abduction, last weekend, of the General Manager of the Independent Television/Radio, Mr. Martins Ekpeh, as well as other cases of kidnapping in the state. The union, in a statement in Benin yesterday, signed by its Secretary, Mr. Uchechukwu Olisah, observed that the security situation in the state whereby law abiding citizens or residents no longer go about their lawful duties freely or move freely within the ambit of the laws of the land, was very worrisome and counterproductive. According the statement, “the siege which the people of Edo State have been subjected to in recent times by these agents of counter-culture, is even more disturbing, given the presence of the members of Edo State government’s elite anti-kidnapping/crime outfit named, “Operation Thunderstorm” in the state, particularly in Benin city, where most of the abductions have so far taken place.” “The alarming rate of kidnapping and upsurge in other criminal activities in the state calls to question the effectiveness and efficiency of “Operation Thunderstorm”, which the state government is funding with the tax payers’ money, that is, the money of the people they are supposed to protect. “Edo state government may wish, and it has the support of the Edo NUJ, to reorganize the Operation Thunderstorm for more effective, efficient and result-oriented performance, or even disband it, if the anti-kidnapping/crime outfit is not living to the noble ideals behind its establishment”. . . . http://www.vanguardngr.com/2009/10/07/edo-nuj-condemns-itv-gms-abduction/ |
This guy's appointment should be rescinded by Yar’Adua, I am sure he can find other qualified candidate without this much questionable aptitude and controversy, maybe he needs to look beyound the North. His integrity will always be questioned, although this has never stopped other shady individuals in government. And I am having problem believing our career forger. WAEC or any other relevant accreditation board would have been bought out by now. |
It is sad - even a terrorist dictator is poking his fingers in our eyes. Are our leaders not in the least ashamed? Yar'Adua and those non-performing governors continue to fail the citizens of this country. |
I really don’t understand why some people don’t feel the governors are responsible for the wellbeing of their citizens. Everyday you read the newspapers, there’s somebody kidnapped in Edo state, and the governor is completely devoid of any responsibility for providing a safe state for the citizens. |
~Bluetooth:How can you discredit a non-credit – this guy can not run the state from Abuja or the US, whilst the law-abiding citizens of the state are under siege by miscreants. Maybe I am trying to discredit increased kidnapping, robbery, joblessness, and thuggery. Edo is not my state of origin, but I have relatives that have lived there all their lives - this' the worse they've been through in the decades they've lived in Benin. Why has he not employed the services of some joint task force to police the city - maybe the law-abiding citizens of the state will feel a bit safe. |
yeswecan:Are you paid to be an idiot? |
@poster, Very easy. . . . Get on the ledge or balcony of a 4 storey building, and jump off. |
The moderator has a job to do - if the post is not in line with the rules of discourse in this forum, as clearly outlined by Seun, he has the right to take it down. Modify/rephrase your post to conform with the rules - I am sure you won't have a problem. |
ohisng:Unlike you, I am not one of Oshiom Ole's thugs - I make a honest leaving in the private sector. When your boss starts being accountable to the good people of Edo state, rather than terrorising them with his thugs, I will layoff - and even hail him like I do Fashola. The state is not better off than when he was sponsored in by one of the worse known crooked govs in the history of Edo state. Rather than making this a discourse of hot air and untruths about the performance of your boss, go tell him that the electorates are aware of his shady deals and misappriations. He will be out come next election, if he thinks he can fool the good folks of the state again |
chidichris:Since Obj is the puppeteer and Yar’Adua is the puppet, by your own wacky and convoluted conspiracy theory, I wonder who’s yanking Obj’s strings – who’s Obj’s puppeteer? We can’t just stop at Obj/Yar’Adua Puppeteer/Puppet relationship, can we? You are entitled to your own opinion and conclusions – I am just not willing to have a long-winded conspiracy laden political debate. Yar’Adua is the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the general consensus from the electorates is that he’s not performing. But if you feel Yar’Adua is some how devoid of any responsibility for the current state of the country, then that’s your prerogative – but I’ll say you are in the minority. |
MUNEER2:You are welcome, Bra! |
Happy Independence Day to Everyone – • Not because all’s well, but because we all share the pains of this great nation • We all want the best for this Nation, even those that have given up. • It is also true that, our individual dreams for success is aligned with our dreams for our family, our village, our tribe, our city, our state, and ultimately our country. • This same dream is shared by all Nigerians – living in Nigerian and abroad. • No Nigerian will stand for the denigration of this country by a foreigner. And that is the true testament of the love we all have for this Nation • May God help us as we try to rid our country of unscrupulous leaders and miscreant. • May the evils and darkness in humanity; genocide; ethnic cleansing; stay away from this great nation. For we have seen these misery and anguish in other nations. - Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4 |
Greed have no bounds! ![]() |
kosovo:I think it is legit - maybe they'll ban him from Saudi Arabia (allowed only during Hajj). ![]() |
gadogado:Let’s start campaigning for the impeachment of Yar’Adua now – he’s lame and ineffective. This way we don’t have to wait until Yar’Adua’s term runs out, before getting Fashola in there. BTW do you mean until his first or second term runs out? |
Priceless - LMAO ![]() |
snowdrops:Bra, you are really quick - and hit hard I might say ![]() This dumbass ohisng/asylh is making some little change from Oshiom Ole, now he can't see pass his nose. Typical! The fact of the matter is that this ugly goat is a crook and a fraud - he will never account for these misapproriations - he’ll do what he does best, intimidate any opponents with his thugs. |
Well deserved - keep performing Fash! |
He dies in jail ![]() |
Too funny for me, ![]() |
Edo State- truly the heartbeat of Nigeria Now whenever I drive in from lagos, my heart beats with fear - thanks to Oshiom Ole. |
ohisng:We’ll be watching – but leave these bullets out: 3. A biometric id system for 100 or so employees hardly constitutes grandeur when speaking of millions of citizens 6. Is it a lie that Oshiomole made huge contributions to the ENA? |
New Word of the Day: Fasholalogy - meaning: The study of excellent governance and how to ensure the electorates' mandates are surpassed thereby ensuring a 2nd term. |
