I still would have preferred Tomi over Zinny. Our problem isn't keeping possession, our problem as evidenced by both goals is getting caught from pressing way too high. Zinny isn't better than Kiwior defensively. He may give us more with possession but defensively, Bayern will continue to target that side of our defense.

My choice of Zinny was not to defend but to control the midfield which he did excellently allow Rice to press higher

Last season, Tomi was injured and throughout preseason Saliba and Gabriel played as CB while White moved to RB.

This season, Zinny was injured and throughout preseason, Timber played Lb even when Tierney was fit. In the community shield he played as a Lb again, beginning of season he still played as a Lb(while we loaned Tierney).

And you're right, Spurs game is a big decider especially as they would be playing City and Liverpool back to back.

As for transfers, I didn't specifically states that both Zinny and Jesus will leave in the summer. I said 'coming windows'. With Timber as the first choice LB next season, Zinny's game time will be greatly reduced. Although Arteta might decide to move him to midfield. Jesus'injury issues is also part of why I think he might not stay long at Arsenal.

Why does everyone think Timber is a left back? He can equally be a right back. In fact he is more right back than left back.

You see that 3 Liverpool away matches, there's no way they will win all of them, fullham and westham know how to frustrate teams in their home ground and Everton is a derby so I believe they won't get maximum 9 points off those games. based on the training that i saw Kiwior going through, he might have had some little issue but is very okay now. I've been saying since 3 weeks that he'll start the Bayern game. He was fit to start Brighton game but Arteta must have really calculated his gameplan with Kiwior in it. LB get too much options. I want that for Saka next season. It will shock all of us how a well rested Saka can start giving GA above what we're currently used to. Guy is too tired mehn.

White inverting really helped Saka cos it isolated him well. Zinny inverting helps the right.

We were defensively solid and attackingly good with that back four. Zinny shouldn't be starting.

Anyways I still expect a win but it's annoying seeing that we've a weaklink opposition coach is always targeting. Imagine RdZ switching Adingra because of Zinny

White inverting didn't really help Saka because it put much load on him facing defenders as White couldn't overlap to assist.

I agree totally, our defense was much better with Kiwior than with Zinny. I can't say why, except that the stats prove so. Otherwise on paper, Zinny gives our midfield more control when he is inverting than when White is inverting. Yes with Kiwior it's a back four but not really so with Zinny.

Kiwior didn't play on Wednesday, yet his other back 3 teammates played. He didn't even come as a sub. I took it as Arteta giving him a rest.

Against Brighton, he didn't start again, neither did he come on as a sub.

One thing I know is that Arteta takes match fitness seriously so it's surprising to see Kiwior not Play any of these two games when Fit.

So, I'm thinking, Are you sure Arteta won't start Zinny against Bayern? Or am I overthinking it??

Arteta likes to over load the midfield with square shape and having Zinny inverting makes it easier. The other option playing Kiwior is that White would be inverting and that's not really desirable because of how he helps Saka in creating width on the right wing.

That said, I expect that we will attack Bayern at home and not defend.

Steve Gerrad left his midfield position to play right back.

We set tell u say Arteta read game....he wanted to strike in the last 15 mins of the game.
The question is between Pep,s team.and Arteta team....who could control possession more.....
Even the quality of personal they are slightly better especially when you consider their bench.
Even first leg...they had more possession but Rodri and KDB were absent giving us a better chance to control game.

Keeping all our top players fit is key.

If Rodri absence and KDB injury did not occur this season....who knows...they might have won more matches.
