Had the Vlahovic deal gone through, Nketiah would have been sold. Meaning, the club had a plan.

This means Nketiah has a big chance now to prove himself as a big club player. Lacazette also has to prove he can win a new contract or at least get a good deal wherever he goes at the end this season. The likes of Martinelli, Pepe, ESR will get good run of games if they can show consistency and form.

Sometimes managing a bloated squad has a way of creating diminishing returns.

There was an actual conscious move to get a very good striker in Dusan Vlahovic. But the deal didn't work out. I'd rather stick to Lacazette and Nketiah than add another fake star to our squad. Exactly what the club did.

The squad is not so thin as people think. We've not sold our best players but the deadwoods and that's something worth commending. I don't see how people are angry. As it stands we have a squad of up to 20 first team players and they are all going to be functional.
