Warripikine: He admitted that the country is at a critical stage and should debate whether to remain united as one Nigeria or break up.
Tinubu said this at a democracy lecture organised by the Nigerian Youth Congress with the theme “Nigerian Democratic System and Good Governance: The Journey So Far,” in Abuja.
“Nigeria seats at a crucial junction. Do we advance by doing what is right or do we settle for what is not so easy?
“Our nation’s journey is one of continuous struggles. We have struggled many times, yet never shall we fall. We are Nigerians and shall remain so.
Represented by James Faleke, a member of the House of Representatives, Tinubu urged Nigerian youths to work together to solve the nation’s security challenges.
This, he said, could be achieved through dialogue and positive engagement with the political elite.

Jodera: Hmmm.. You've a point sha. But if only our negotiating team is good, we for at least find one maga. But your point is still valid tho
Just worrying that we're always losing players for free. See welbeck, mustafi ramsey etc So many players wey we get and we fit maga even if na small to average club, but na dash we dey always dash
It's worrying mehn Unless you want us to sell our best players. Top clubs don't sell players for profit. The main matter self is that we don't have many top talents that will attract huge fees eg Grealish, McGinn, Mings, Phillips etc are all Aston Villa and can fetch at least 50m each. |

Jodera: I know lacazette contract is expiring next season reason why I want him sold this season. It's really getting out of hand that we mostly allow our players to run down their contract without always getting a dime. They should look for way to get buyer for him joor.
As for xhaka, the news of his ongoing sale negotiations been sweet my body that I thought arsenal can get even if it's 25m from him. Since those overseeing the negotiations of selling/buying players aren't good in convincing at all.
Anyways, I can still be Ok for xhaka to be in the team but not Lacazette abeg The thing is who will take them, pay their signing fees and huge salaries? Hence there's few options than to let them run down their contracts. |

Any decent striker will do. Isak is decent when you look at his performance both in Europe and club level. He has the skills to cause danger inside the box. I only hope his finishing is equally as good. Countries like Czech, Croatia, Slovakia, Hungary etc have some very decent players who do not find their way into mainstream Europe. They are also quite cheap. I'm just thinking. |

At least, over 9yrs ago, it was barca, man city and man u that were doing the bidding not Everton or Villa. Then to bid 20m for Esr knowing his potential and how good he was for us last season is actually a very very big slap on our face. Jodera: Of course we can hold them accountable but if they don't get good players, even if/when they're sacked, the new coach or TD coming in will have to change the dross being left behind and that's another cycle all over again. One thing is certain, if any new and sensible coach comes, we're sure that he'll still use saka, KT, partey, Gabriel ESR and most good players. But just imagine they pile up Willians for the new coach, is it not still another cycle and overbloated squad all over again? Akin to us having dem mustafis and kolasinacs? Mehn, we need to get it right with the recruitment at least, so even if they're sacked, we can look hopefully into the future, not all these shenanigans they're playing for us Honestly. Thank God it's just my emotions that will suffer. The Kroenke's will lose money as well. |

Jodera: As if you know wetin dey my mind. Reason why I'm just saying let transfer window end first lemme see how things are so that I won't jump into conclusion. But from the way I'm seeing it, that's exactly the politics I feel they're playing. Then just add one player, then rinse and repeat For now I am not putting my mind I to anything. Off course I will get excited if new players are signed but I am not putting my mind. I am just going to hold people accountable for their actions and decisions. For example I want Kroenke to leave, and Edu and Arteta sacked for the rubbish they dished us last season. I know it's not going to happen but that's my stance. So whether we buy players or not or how much we spend or who we buy isn't my problem any longer, I just want those making the decisions accountable. Next season we will evaluate them again and demand for accountability whether we get it or not, we keep demanding. |

BlueRayDick: One thing is clear, whoever is at the helms of affairs either Arteta, Edu or any other person we don't know surely doesn't believe in our present young players. It took a run of bad games for the Smith-Rowe to be given a shot, Azeez and Balogun's growth seem to have been stunted, Martinelli was denied playing chances several times he was available for selection last season etc.
Well if they don't believe in our current youth players like they are acting, one would think their focus in the transfer market is to get established players who can come in and hit the ground running, but all these names that keeps popping up as our transfer targets are just puzzling . It makes no sense having abundant talents in our youth system and yet we will spend millions to bring more youngsters in.....No be juju be that? The way he depended on Saka and ESR like life support, I believe Arteta's eyes have opened. Personally, I prefer a balanced blend. I prefer a spine (GK, CD, CM and Striker) of older players with youths as ribs (FBs, wingers). |

I mean it looks as if any youngster Arsenal signs may not transit immediately into the starting lineup which makes me wonder why sign these youngsters then? Sometimes you take things too serious Mr Spy and it baffles me too. But hey, you're right.
You're very right cos we shouldn't voice our opinion and don't say what's on our mind on a forum like this that's opened for us cos 1... We didn't play in the best league 2... We didn't coach the best players And so on and so forth.
We shouldn't as well criticize Arteta nor call him apprenticeship trainee since in your opinion everything, anyone at the helms of affairs do is right. Lol.
Sometimes, I wonder what most of you guys think this nairaland forum is for if not to drop opinions and possible suggestions for Christ sake..
But like I pointed earlier, you're right. We're all wrong for not bottling our thoughts inside so we don't sound more than Alex Ferguson! Bravo boss!! Sounding an opinion is different from you claiming to be more tactically sound than an international manager. Unless we are just catching cruise, for me that's inappropriate and we should avoid such derogatory remarks. It makes it hard for rationality in discussions. |

Jodera: Reason why I said Southgate is one of the most dumbest coach. But let's look at facts.
Saka is a winger, so the position he's fighting with includes Rashford, sterling, Sancho, grealish, and I'm sure he's the least amongst those 4 in pecking order(at least according to Southgate) If it's left back, chilwell and Shaw are also both above him in pecking order too. So even if Southgate head correct and he starts putting right players at their proper positions, Saka might still not see shirt or minutes
Ordinarily, if I'm Southgate, Mount won't play my Am role(may be cm) cos I'll give that to saka or any of foden or grealish but we all know he (Southgate) is not tactical enough to think such
Well, I just know that as he's invited, he'll hardly see minutes, same as Calvert Lewin. The kind of confidence you have in yourselves is mind blowing. How you claiming to be more tactically astute than Southgate who 1. Has played in the best league 2. With the best players 3. Under the best managers 4. Captained both club and country 5. Have been a football manager for over 6years 6. Including manager of a top football nation like England of all ...baffles me. I hail your self belief SIR! But this is nairaland. So faceless. You could be Sir Alex who knows. |
