kodded: The mediocrity you are seeing today started from the board during wenger days.
No top club should be fighting for top 4 evry season, while their mates are fighting for the EPL title and champions league every season.
Saldy this mediocrity has eaten deep into the squad too.
By now a serious top club that just finished 8th in the league should have sacked the coach and sacked the incompetent edu and bring in highly trained professionals with experience to steady the ship before it goes sinking further down into the abyss of mediocrity, but my club is still showing faith when artea no be Jesus Christ self.
Aubameyang, lacazette, willian, xhaka, AMN, Bellerin, Nkeitah, guendouzi, willock, cedric, eleny and leno (if he do anyhow) should be used to raise our transfer funds since their presence in the field is as good as dead.
Our priority going into the transfer wimdow should be Beundia Bissouma Odegard (another loan + option) New RB Backup LB New CF that suit our style of play preferably Andre Silva from frankfurt
New team for next season should look like
GK - Leno, Ryan
LB - Teirney, backup LB
RB - New RB, chambers
CB - Saliba, mavro, holding, Gabriel, Mari
Midfield - Partey, Bissouma, odegaard and Smith Rowe (buendia, chambers and Azzez should be included in the midfield incase of emergency)
Attack - Saka, Martinelli, Pepe, Nelson, Beundia, Andre silva and Balogun
In the January transfer window, since we might have fewer and tougher games, I suggest we loan some of our youngsters with limited playing time like balogun, nelson and Azeez while we bring in a temporary EPL experienced striker to compensate for balogun loan.
We have only one goal next season and that is to go back to the top of the EPL since we will have fewer games compared to the remaining top 7 clubs.
It's time we prioritize quality over quantity in the squad, but alas we have arteta who might decide to renew lacazette, xhaka and eleny contract this season and might choose to bring either odegaard or beundia when in reality we need both.
That's all for now, na to sitdown for fence dey observe how this transfer window go be, I don dey even hear say Artea wan add another CB to the team meanwhile our major problem last season was our inability not to create chances because of the lack of creative players in the team. I agree with you except that we both know Xhaka is staying and that unless Newcastle drops 30m, Willock is coming back to Arsenal. By the way, why would you sell Willock? |

Jodera: Lol... @ the 90+5 min was when that happened. Like that's almost the last kick of the game (not like the goal was the winning goal sef).
I still insist, Pepe is very underwhelming when dribbling or beating his man effectively. I hope he improves on it consistently cos performances like that is what drags us down to mid table position. For all the sticks he gets, he was our highest goal contributor this season. |

Roland17: This was one of the issues going into this season. We had an over bloated squad, Arteta and his gang of clowns only realized we needed to trim the squad a week before the season. The trimming continued even after the season started and that affected a lot. He should get out of my club.. I don’t want any more experiments. In his press meeting today, he accepted he made mistakes. |

Roland17: What are your thoughts about Willock returning to Arsenal? I am known critic of the kid but there is no shame in admitting he has done well during his loan spell at Newcastle. Now, I am battling with the thoughts of him returning to Arsenal because I am worried this may be a case of “Garri don find him level” and he should remain there for another season if we don’t sell to Newcastle or if he has the quality to compete at Arsenal. Willock plays the roaming/box to box midfielder role just as Ramsey. He has the ability to make off the ball runs into scoring positions. His performance on loan is encouraging. We need him for tactical switches -to attack from the middle instead from the wings. I'd say we keep him as a squad player. But this will mean sacrificing someone else, like letting Elneny go, and not renewing Ceballos. I do not mind those two anyways. |

If not, should they not ask Omokri why he is too scared or ashamed to ever mention his State of origin and Governor while he remains obsessed with shading Tinubu who has put Lagos far ahead as the most developed and progressive State in Nigeria?
Some Southerners are too childish abeg. ndidibabe: Yes, it was sensible to park the bus considering you were facing a team that is very hot atm.
The fact that the quality of the defence is so low, yet Ass has conceded such few goals compared to others proves how much Arteta has improved the organisation of the team and he must be credited for that. Unfortunately, you guys want him out.
If not for Chelsea's mistake, there was no way Ass would have created a single chance? Apart from SR and Saka who can run with the ball, arsenal was so slow and kept passing backward. No clever players... I have mentioned this early this year how he has improved our defense. I saw this as the right foundation to getting the club back in top with hope that if he gets an AM he would do well, cc Jodera. He got two and yet no improvement in attack. Arteta has very poor attacking tactics. Arsenal are an attacking team. We must be an attacking team. #ArtetaOut |

1. Ceballos for Elneny (I wish I could say Azeez) 2. Cedric or Bellerin for Gabriel (Saka moves to LW proper)
E- S-Rowe...... Aubameyang.......... Saka.
Odegaard... Ceballos... Partey.... Bellerin ............Tierney..... Mari...... Holding........... |

ndidibabe: Hmm. I won't disagree. It was Arsenal delusion that they have a good team and a bad manager that made them sack Emery.
Emery is a courageous coach. He tried to play his pattern- play from the back. Unfortunately, he had the wrong team that couldnt play modern football. Emery worked with a worse team than Arteta, probably a little patience was what we needed. But patience is very expensive now. That squad needs trimming and lots of replacements. A new coach too perhaps. |

ndidibabe: Do not underestimate that he achieved the FA cup in his first season itself. You can call it a fluke or whatever, but he beat city and chelsea to do it and not to mention he also beat Klopp in the PL.
My point is that no one can say he is tactically inept. If he was then there’s no way you would’ve won the FA cup.
The problem with most Arsenal fans is that they overate the team itself. That team is no better than Villarreal's. You are looking at the cost, I am looking at the talents.
They outplayed Arsenal in the first leg. If not for the fear of not loosing the second leg which led them to play with caution, Villarreal would have beaten Arsenal. That Nigeria boy kept disturbing Arsenal until he got injured.. What you saw was the effect of superior coaching rather than superior talents. If Emery had our team, he'd still beat Arteta. |

ndidibabe: When I say levels, I mean understanding of football and he is very mature too.
So you still do not agree that Ozil and Auba are "nonsense" buy? Na wha o...
There are so many young talents in Europe. Very hungry and will gladly play for a team like Arsenal. These kind of players will pick Arsenal over teams like Westham, Leicester and Everton. I am saying scout for them to get you back to Europa so that you can attract big players again.
In your own analysis, u feel the media are for Arteta simply because of his hair and personality. Are you drunk abi which kinda viewing centre talk be this? They understand the fact that Arsenal is a sinking boat with or without Arteta. The players are not just there. Which of these Arsenal players will be in the starting eleven of the present top four. Non!!! There is simply nothing he can do and they understand this.
Get decent players and get back to Europa. It's a gradual process. Arsenal, if well managed can come back to the champions League in the next five years. If they continue wasting money on flops as usual, arsenal will be fighting for relegation in the next five years. Five years is too much for a club of our status (I know you think we are now mid table, but we are still among the most valuable clubs in Europe) and that is adding to the previous years since Wenger. We have just the next season, and personally for me staying out of Europe should enable a good coach get us back to top four having less distractions. If we can get Periera (AM), Bissouma (DM) and trim down the squad for focus we will do fine. |

Jodera: Lol... Watching it after the live game as I did won't hurt you much. What will hurt is seeing the formation and personnel he used against Newcastle (except ceballos and Willian for pepe and ESR) and knowing that that same squad can actually play against poor Villarreal side and get a good result but he decides to be unfortunate by using stupid false 9 striker and playing xhaka(instead of saka) at lb.
That match hurts me more and the decision to bring out his best lineup/formation in a dead rubber match makes it worse Keeping it simple, is the way good coaches go whenever they face such situations. We lost the first leg due to not doing the simple things we know. It took Saka's brilliance to get a penalty and reduce the opposition to equal numbers with us. Yet we couldn't take advantage in the second leg, same mistake, Arteta could keep it simple, - make the boys play their normal game. Imagine Pepe's goal coming against Villarreal? |
